How do Innerworlds work?
These internal worlds, which are also known as inner worlds or headspaces, can range in size and complexity. A system with only a couple of alters might have an internal room in which alters that are internally active, awake, and aware might manifest.
What tests are used to diagnose dissociative identity disorder?
Is there a test for DID? There isn’t a single test that can diagnose DID. A healthcare provider will review your symptoms and your personal health history. They may perform tests to rule out underlying physical causes for your symptoms, such as head injuries or brain tumors.
What does DID Switching feel like?
Embarrassment, frustration, and shame frequently plague our system when switching. However, having frequent internal communication, dialogue, and understanding with my headmates makes the system more amenable to an agreement on terms of when and how headmates switch.
Can someone with DID have a job?
If you choose to work with people with DID, it is a long process. You will need to be patient, and be willing to repeat the same thing many times. It can sometimes take a while for all the parts to learn something or hear it.
Do alters have different dreams?

Famous people with dissociative identity disorder include comedienne Roseanne Barr, Adam Duritz, and retired NFL star Herschel Walker. Walker wrote a book about his struggles with DID, along with his suicide attempts, explaining he had a feeling of disconnect from childhood to the professional leagues.
