Introducing REAL by MYHABIT, A New Shopping Experience

Everyone’s favorite “go to” shopping site, Amazon.com has created MYHABIT. It’s one of the latest “membership-only” fashion sale sites. And they just recently launched REAL by MYHABIT. It’s a series of online sale events offering women, sizes 14-24, the best designer and contemporary brands at up to 60% off. The sales will last up to 4 days, unless they sell out (which can happen!). Today’s sales include dresses from Taylor Dress, denim from CJ by Cookie Johnson (some of my favorites are already sold out), and Z from Zenobia. I’m loving the red blazer by Z from Zenobia. It’s originally $1,350 and…

Nordstrom dress Sale

I was on one of my favorite shopping sites (of course) and I noticed a few dresses on sale at Nordstrom. These are casual dresses and they start at 50% off! I would like to go in the store and try them on, but my local Nordies doesn’t have a good Encore department. It’s all the way in the corner, like all the other plus departments. Sad isn’t it? I’m digging the Suzi Chin for Maggie Boutique dresses!

OOTD: Romper in B&W

Oh Las Vegas…I love you. Except when you’re hitting 107 degrees! I guess that’s what I get for visiting in the middle of August. Ugh! It was so flippin’ hot. But, that’s OK. I was there this past weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday. She hasn’t been there in a really long time, so I decided to kidnap her and my brother. We took the four hour road trip from Los Angeles and made our way to “Sin City.” Did I mention it was hot? Because of this heat, I knew  had to wear Torrid’s Smocked Black and White Polka…

Rachel Zoe? Yes or No?

Stylist Rachel Zoe not only dresses the hottest celebrities out there, but she also has her own collection. I’ve see her designs before, but I came across a few of her accessories yesterday and thought…”hmmm those are pretty cute.” Nothing to holler about, but great basics. Then I looked at the price points for her shoes and handbags. They start at $295 and up. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think her pieces are a little overpriced. I love her unique personality, but that’s not really reflected in her collection. Unless, she was purposely trying to mimic all…

Style Trend: 1950’s Style with Dorothy Perkins

Ever since the television hit Mad Men came on the air, I’ve been eyeing all 1950’s fashion. Even Banana Republic has introduced a Mad Men inspired line. For a second, I’ll imagine I’m Christina Hendricks as Joan Harris. I really want a dress now! And I can’t buy from Banana Republic, because they don’t carry my size. Then I remembered Dorothy Perkins carried a lot of 50’s style dresses and they have sizes up to a US 18. Don’t you just love how the silhouette defines the waist and that flared skirt? Great for showing off those curves! They remind…

Parties, Friends, & Torrid

Yes! More outfits from my weekend at BlogHer. And these two are courtesy of one of my favorite brands, Torrid. They’ve really been stepping it up, in my opinion. Especially, in the quality department. And that’s something that goes a long way for me. If you’re going to spend the money, the piece has to last! Here I am sitting with my partner in crime, Cid from Cid Style File. We practically hung out all weekend in San Diego. This is from one of the many parties we attended. I wore Torrid’s Leopard Mesh Maxi Dress and I felt very…

Ask Ivory…

Hi Ivory, I have a blue & white tye dye dress that I want to wear on a brunch cruise, but I’m style challenged on what accessories would look good. Please help!!!! -Tee I love yellow and blue together, so perhaps a yellow clutch? Silver bangles (tons of them; Ashley Stewart carries some really cute ones), large hoops and a chunky ring. I would prefer nude sandals with a heel or you can do wedges. Have fun! ———– Hello Ivory, I work in a professional environment where flip flops, jeans (other than Friday), tank tops, etc. are not appropriate. I…

In a Tiger kind of Mood

I’m back ladies! In case you didn’t know, I was in San Diego attending a blogging conference. BlogHer is the largest conference for women bloggers. There are over 3,000 women from all over the world. It was so much fun, and such a great learning experience. Over the next couple of days, you’ll see some of the outfits I wore. On the first day of the conference, I wore this Grey All-Over Tiger Print Maxi Dress ($54.50) from Torrid.…

The Women with Control Giveaway

The debate of wearing shapewear continues. You either wear it or you don’t. I am very proud of my body and I wear shapewear. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Wearing it won’t make me loose 10 pounds, but it does smooth me out. With some women, that can definitely mean a boost in their confidence. We all know what it’s like to wear something we love and feel very comfortable in it. Women with Control is all about making women feel good in their clothes. They are a lifestyle collection, comprised of pants, leggings, capris, dresses, skirts…

Did you know your favorite fragrances of Secret Garden have been reinvented. It’s now VS Fantasies and they’ve even added five new scents. Now, I didn’t know how intimate this dinner was going to be and I had never been to the legendary hotel. I had no idea what to expect. As you can…

What’s missing?

I’m always so curious as to finding out exactly what fashionistas like when it comes to accessorizing. I’m a true believer that just one accessory can liven up any outfit. Especially if it’a nude or tan dress, like the T-Bags mini-dress below, and the accessory is a much needed pop of color. But, that’s just me. I want to know what you think…(read below)I’ve chosen 6 random accessories below. If you could ONLY choose ONE, which item would you pair with the dress and why? I’m curious.More Emilio Pucci…

It’s Hot and I’m Floral

I guess this HOT weekend was one with a lot of firsts. For example, I haven’t worn a floral romper since I was kid. I was really surprised when Torrid sent me their Floral Ruffle Tube Romper ($48.50). I don’t even think I would of purchased this for myself. Doesn’t it kind of look like a dress? I was happy there were no malfunctions while wearing it. And you have no idea how happy I was knowing that there were pockets. It was roomy and pretty comfy, but after wearing it all day the elastic in the tube top kind of…
