What did you wear during the Memorial Day weekend?
If you you had weather like us in Los Angeles, then you’d probably wear something similar to my outfit-a flowy dress and sandals. It’s kind of the perfect combo for a beautiful day.
We hosted a small barbecue at my apartment and I wanted to wear something chic. I made sure to wear this Golden Paisley Dress that Midnight Velvet sent me.
This dress is so feminine with it’s golden paisley design, beads, and sequins. I know you can’t see them (sorry), but there are adjustable spaghetti straps under my hair. Which I loved! There is a side zipper, but I didn’t even need to unzip it. The dress just slid over my head for a perfect fit. The empire waist is my favorite part to this dress. It’s so beautiful. Of course I paired it with my Avenue bangle bracelets and these gladiator wedges (for comfort value, because I was going to be cooking).
I must warn you to be careful with the beads on the chest part of the dress. I was brushing my hair and the comb knocked off a few beads.
If there’s a designer out there that knows a woman’s curves, it has to be Monif C. That’s why she was selected as Full Figure Fashion Week’s Plus Designer of the Year. Do I even need to give you another reason why? Just look at her designs, they speak for themselves. Besides, most of them are sold out. That should tell you something.
If you’re attending Full Figured Fashion Week, which I hope you are, you’ll be happy to know that the Monif C. boutique is located in New York City. You’ll actually get to see her famous convertible dress and amazing swimsuits up close. And you’ll know why they’re a curvy woman’s dream come true.
Remember, there are only a few days left to buy your tickets. Get them before they’re gone.
Lane Bryant’s Cacique line, is more than just intimates. It’s now about beauty and body care. Available online today, Caciquebody is a new line designed to tone, smooth and revitalize a woman’s natural curves. Sounds great, right?
The new collection includes smoothing body lotion, hydrating body mist, and body butter. Available in scents Pinkberry, Citrusfresh, Waterblossoms, and Nightbloom. They also offer anti-chaffing cream, revitalizing leg cream, and shimmering body lotion.
Lane Bryant sent me the hydrating body mist Spray It Again and the smoothing body lotion Firm Believer in Pinkberry and I was pleasantly surprised. Pinkberry is a “romantic blend of cherry blossoms, raspberry, and peppercorn.” I was worried the scent might be too strong for me, but it actually wasn’t.
Firm Believer felt great as I slathered it on. It had a great consistency and wasn’t too thick. And because of the sculpting seaweed extract and antioxidant blend with a jolt of caffeine my legs really felt refreshed. It’s not every day a clothing company can pull off body care and now I’m super curious to try the other products.
I don’t know about you, but I’m counting down the days until I get to lounge in the sand on the beach. Doesn’t it sound relaxing? But, what do you wear when you aren’t in the water or laying out getting a tan? You can walk around in your swim suit, but I want to look cute and still protect my skin. That’s when I grab a cover-up. There are tons of styles, colors, and prints to compliment you and your swim suit. Which one below do you like? Click on the style you like for pricing details.
I will tell you right now, that I loooooove Rachel Roy. Who doesn’t? She’s not only an amazingly beautiful woman, but she is a talented designer that really get’s it. Her designs are effortlessly chic. Plain and simple.
I really wish she made plus sizes, but I can tell you that her XL from the Rachel Rachel Roy line that is sold at Macy’s could possibly fit up to a U.S. size 16/18. I bought the 24/7 dress, because I LOVED it, but it was a little too short for me. It hurt me to return it. If you’re in that size range, I would definitely encourage you to try a few of her pieces.
Now, the real reason for this post. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Rachel Roy also designs jewelery. I know! Just look at her pieces below. I have my eye on the elephant ring and the spike pendant necklace. Divine!
Hey loves! I just want to wish you a amazingly beautiful Memorial Day Weekend! And because I love you, I’ve rounded up a few sales and coupon codes. You know I couldn’t let these deals pass you by. Enjoy and I can’t wait to see what you buy. You’re welcome!
Be safe this weekend and have fun. xoxo

If you must know…I love wearing sunglasses. Always have and always will. I don’t know where it started. But, I do know they not only offer style benefits, they also offer protection for your eyes. You will hear me say that over and over and over. And with all of the current trends from the 80’s and 90’s, you had to know that the sunglasses were going to get in on it. I saw a few of these retro styles at Torrid the other day and couldn’t help but try them on. Unfortunately, they didn’t really fit the shape of my face. That sucks! All I can do is look at you enjoy these retro style sunglasses. No fair.
Say hello to Mimilita, courtesy of YOU by crocs™. She’s my new BFF. Wait, can a shoe be a BFF? Well, if it couldn’t before, it is now. I want to wear these cork platform wedges all of the time. These are hands down, “the” most comfortable wedges I have ever worn. It seriously feels like I’m walking on cushions. And not only are they comfy, they are cute! YOU by crocs™ has really outdone themselves. The straps are so soft and they are easy to buckle. Don’t worry about paying an arm and a leg either. These shoes are currently on sale for $49.99! I am now eyeing the Lauralou style and I can’t wait for their fall line!
It’s hard to believe Torrid is 10 years old. On Sunday night, I was invited to attend one of their birthday parties at the Brea, California store. After the mall closed, we were allowed in the store to shop, mingle, eat yummy mini-cupcakes, and take photos. There were raffles ( we didn’t win) and music (thanks DJ Dazzler). Ivory and I found a lot of things we loved, but I only bought two rings, which were “Buy One, Get 1/2 Off.” Can’t beat that deal. If you look at the photo below, you’ll see they even had live models on display in the windows. They were too cute!
It’s about to get real classy up in here…make room for chiffon ladies. Chiffon is that material that was usually saved for special occassion dresses. Not anymore. I have seen this trend every where. And I really think any age or size can wear it in almost any color. There are so many different styles and it’s used different ways. Personally, I love when it’s used on the sleeves. Just so you know, I am literally lusting after #4 from Dorothy Perkins and if someone buys it before I do…I just might scream.
“Soiree” is French for “evening party.” A party in New York City? That’s sounds just about right for this next Full Figured Fashion Week event.
We want to invite you to come out and “join us for an “end of the work week” wind down. Mix, mingle, sip, and chat with in a social setting while continuing our monumental celebration of curves and fashion.”
Make sure you get your tickets! They are only $25 and can be purchased here. I heard they are selling out quickly. According to my countdown, there are only 22 days until FFFWeek!! Are you ready?
