Clearly I am having some type of shoe obsession! I don’t know what it is, but I need shoes! Raise your hand if you’re with me? And doesn’t there always seems to be an occasion that requires the purchase of new shoes. Maybe it’s the Two Point OH LA Snowball on Saturday that has me wanting a holiday inspired shoe like the ones below. A fatshionista is never satisfied, especially around the holidays. Read more
Yet, another beauty confession…I’m not anything close to a make up artist or beauty fanatic. But, I am a chick who does like make up, but doesn’t like to pay the hefty price for department store brands. I’ve purchased them before, but realized how expensive that can get. I’ve been an over-the-counter girl ever since. Lately, I’ve tried steppiing out of my comfort zone when it comes to colors. That’s why I was really excited when Wet N Wild agreed to send me a few of their products for the goodie bags I put together for an event.
Product Info: Wet N Wild COLOR ICON™ Eyeshadow Palette, retails $4.99. Colors: Greed, Pride, Lust, and Vanity.
Product Claim: Glamour-eyes from day to night! Each complementary shade can be mixed-and-matched for a variety of day-to-night looks. These palettes of 3 matte and 3 highly-pigmented effect shades are sure to please the shade sassy minimalist and enthusiast alike.
What I found out: Move over drugstore brands! This isn’t your run-of-the-mill 99¢ makeup anymore. Wet N Wild is definitely stepping up their game. The colors are not only amazing, but they actually have staying power. I’ve paid more for lesser quality stuff. The Lust palette is the one I’ve been using and it’s awesome. I definitely do not like the little application brushes that came with it, but who really uses those anyways? I’ve used this a couple of times and I have gotten compliments on the colors.
Would I buy it again? Yes and Yes!

You know I find inspiration everywhere don’t you? Even if that means on the red carpet at the Sydney, Australia premiere of Love and Other Drugs. Doesn’t Anne Hathaway, look stunning in this gold Oscar de la Renta mini? It’s from his Spring 2011 collection and if anyone can find me a plus sized knock off, I would love them FOREVER!
The Curves and Chaos 2010 Survey continues with part 4. This is a more in depth look at what us curvy shoppers think about the plus size fashion industry. I’d love to hear what you think about the results below.
In your honest opinion, name ONLY ONE clothing manufacturer that you think knows the plus-size woman’s body.
- Lane Bryant
- ASOS Curve

If there was one thing you could recommend to clothing designers about plus-size clothing, what would it be?
“We want to stand out because of our vibrant personalities and confidence, not by wearing clothes that don’t follow the current trend. Plus-sized does not mean minus-style. A size 12 or 14 model who is 5″10 is not the average plus-sized woman; carry a broader range of petite.”
“Remember, just like regular sized women, not all plus-sized women are shaped the same way.”
“We love trendy clothing too and great fit! Some plus women have a SHAPE, we are CURVY. Please make more tops and dresses fitted slightly more in top area with more generous stretch to hip areas. WE NEED MORE AFFORDABLE VARIETY OF WIDE WIDTH SHOES. FULL FIGURE GALS LOVE TRENDS TOO!ALSO, USE MORE REAL PLUS SIZE GALS IN ADS!!!”
“We love fashion too, keep that in mind when you are trying to sell us ugly floral patterns and bedazzled crap. We want everything the skinny girls can wear but in OUR sizes, its that simple.”
“That plus size women have just as many shape variations as non plus size women and need a variety of choices too. So many times designers assume that plus size women carry weight in just the hips, or just the bust, etc. It varies.”
“Don’t be afraid to use a real plus size woman in the clothing ads or online shops. It is much more helpful for shoppers to actually see what a piece of fabric looks like when it hits a curve or even a roll and allows us to judge if it is in fact good for our own body type. This to me would be logical for both ends, as I will know it will look good and will order it, therefore lessening the amount of returns to your company. The world is ready to see big women, let them be seen!”

Need to add a little color to your curves? We Love Colors might be able to help. They offer a rainbow of colors in their plus sized tights, 51 to be exact! I was given the opportunity to review a pair of their Nylon/Lycra tights in Charcoal ($15).These opaque tights (courtesy of WLC) matched this charcoal Forever 21 Plus skirt, that I’ve been dying to wear. I just didn’t have any tights to match. The scarf I wore even had some gray in it, so it all came together.
Like you, I’ve heard a lot about We Love Colors, but I wasn’t sure about the quality. I found these tights to be really soft, comfortable, and durable. They come a wide range of sizes and when I first put them on I was worried they might be too big. But they never once rolled down or sagged like some tights do. They would be great for those on the taller side. But, I’m 5’6 and they were perfect for me. I can really see them getting a lot of wear in this chilly L.A. weather!
Update: Win your own pair of We Love Colors tights!! To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment below (with a valid email address) telling me which color you’d choose if you win! Go here for a list of colors.

I don’t know what it is, but whenever the holidays roll around I have velvet on the brain! Seriously, I just featured those velvet clutches and I now I want velvet shoes! I think it has something to do with my mom dressing me when I was little. She put me in a lot of velvet. I love that lady! And now look at me lusting over velvet shoes! Drooling over all of these shoes…(click on the shoe for shopping details).

China Glaze has been gracing nails like yours for 13 years and now your holiday can be a little more festive with their 2010 holiday collection.
With colors like Naughty and Nice, Jolly Holly, and Little Drummer Boy, these 16 holiday shades will pretty much go with any of your party dresses. Personally, I love Ms. Claus. I’m a sucker for red and glitter.
Made with China Clay as a nail hardener and a 400 strand brush, I don’t think nail polish lovers will be disappointed. I have a bottle of the No Chip Top Coat and it’s awesome!
These little nail kits (top and right) would make a great stocking stuffer!
Don’t know what the color will look like on you? Check out their Virtual Nail Studio. You get to adjust the skin tone and nail length that closely resembles your hand. So which color will you be trying?
Last night Cid from Cid’s Style File and I were talking about where our inspiration to blog comes from. Personally, I’m inspired by everything around me. In fact, this post is inspired by this Dolce Vita image. They sent me an email about a sale and this Tammy Printed Sweater ($220) caught my eye. How could it not? I want this sweater, but my bargainista instincts say NO! When this happens, I look for substitutions. And f course ASOS Curve has this Pattern Wrap Blanket Cardigan ($74.21) that I want. Just another reason to love them!
