The Shopping Diaries: No Excuses Needed

Don’t you hate having to justify things you’ve purchased? I can’t help it that this pair of shoes (below) just had to be mine! They were literally saying my name as I walked past them. OK, maybe not, but once I picked them up I couldn’t put them down.

And since I was already returning a few items, I could use that money to buy the shoes. In fact, there was even some money left over from my returns. I mean, they were only $39.99!

What you’re reading now is what I told my husband as I plead my case on why I had to buy these shoes. Don’t worry, it worked out in my favor. I brought out the whole “Do you know how much you spend on your video games?” That always works when I try and reverse the guilt.

There should be no need to justify such beautiful pink peep-toe sling back platform pumps from Guess. If I really want to dig deep down inside and get all therapist on you; I could say I probably feel this way due to guilt. Guilt from not being employed full time? Whatever it is, I don’t like doing it.

From now on, if I like something I buy. At a reasonable price of course and there’s no more excuses. That’s it. The end. Finito.

Torrid has a Maternity Line?

Yes, like you, I had no idea Torrid carried maternity clothes. Most of the pieces are “internet exclusives” and very basic pieces. Have you actually seen any of these pieces in the store? And if or when you’re pregnant, can you see yourself shopping for your maternity clothes at Torrid?

What I Wore: Chinese Laundry Party

I am in a shoe obsessed mood right now, so bear with me. I can thank Chinese Laundry for that. Last night, I spent a few hours over at the Chinese Laundry Golden Globes after party held at the W hotel in Hollywood.

The night was filled with laughter and fun (wink wink) with a few gal pals. There were even a few interesting sightings. It was held in “The Living Room” inside the W, which was massive.

You can check out the photos on their Facebook page here.

I wore this top by L8ter clothing via Macy’s, tights from Target, and jewelry, skirt, and shoes from Forever 21.

This F21 necklace is becoming one of my favorite pieces. So, you just might see it in a few of my upcoming outfits.

Model Quinn Miles & Evans Picks for 2011

Curvaliscious Golden Globe Fave: Amber Riley

Glee star Amber Riley looks amazing on the red carpet as she arrives for the Golden Globes. She was my favorite curvaliscious star of the night! Actually, she was one of my favorite looks of the night period. Doesn’t she look flawless in her Oliver Tolentino creation?

Topshop’s Got it Handled

Move over handbags, the satchel with the handle is making it’s mark as one of my favorite bags of the season! I love all handbags and I don’t discriminate, but this style is definitely on my to-buy list. I found a great selection over at Topshop.

It doesn’t hurt that most of them can be worn as crossbody bags which is a bonus in my book. Especially, since I need my hands free for shopping. The Coral Leather Lock Handle Bag is divine, but for $110, I might need to find a cheaper alternate. Unless I can get my hands on some coupon codes (hint, hint).

Do you love this bag or will you be on the search for a different style?

Just My Size…Proving me wrong.

If there’s one thing I love more than anything, it’s getting proven wrong when it comes to clothing. I know that sounds weird, but it’s true. I love that feeling of thinking a clothing brand is one way and then finding out I was completely mistaken.

I’m kinda ashamed to say that’s how I felt about the Just My Size clothing line. I had this whole idea that because it was sold at Walmart that I wouldn’t like it and the quality wouldn’t be that great. Why do I even judge clothing before I try it? I don’t know! I am so happy to say JMS has proven me wrong!

A few months ago, I was lucky enough to try out a few pieces courtesy of JMS and I am pleasantly surprised at not only the great quality but, the price point.  All the designs above range from $13.99-$19.99 and a lot of them make great basics and layering pieces. I actually have the JMS EasyDressing Sweater Coat in black and I love it!

In fact, I have an extra pair of the Just My Size – Womens Plus Pull-On Denim Jeggings (left) in a size 18/20 to give away! (FYI…these do run 1-2 sizes big)
