I guess this HOT weekend was one with a lot of firsts. For example, I haven’t worn a floral romper since I was kid. I was really surprised when Torrid sent me their Floral Ruffle Tube Romper ($48.50). I don’t even think I would of purchased this for myself.
Doesn’t it kind of look like a dress? I was happy there were no malfunctions while wearing it. And you have no idea how happy I was knowing that there were pockets. It was roomy and pretty comfy, but after wearing it all day the elastic in the tube top kind of starting irritating me. There is also an elastic waist, which gives it shape. I threw on this skinny braided belt, my You by crocs wedges, gold hoop earrings and bangle bracelets, and my Forever 21 sunglasses. It was sooooo hot on this day and this jumper kept me nice and cool!

I didn’t know if I should even write about this. I’m unsure about even mentioning his name, because I don’t want to give him any more publicity. But, I just wanted to give you ladies another and perfect example of size discrimination in the fashion industry (like you needed more). Read more
We all know that denim comes in a lot of different washes. When I was a teen (showing my age LOL) acid wash was really popular.
A few weeks ago, I went into a Forever 21 and saw a few pairs of acid wash jeans. You probably saw them. They were turquoise and pink. I can’t remember the other colors. Ever since that moment, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. But, I knew I couldn’t really pull off those colors.
Then I walked into Forever 21 on Saturday and saw these Mineral Wash Skinny Jeans ($24.80) below. I knew I had to have a pair. I didn’t know what color I wanted, but I was only going to allow myself one pair. I have been on one major shopping spree lately. After trying them on, I chose the charcoal color.
I’m 5’6 and these are a little long on me. Also, I will say the waist is pretty generous. They are stretchy and I almost went a size smaller, but they were too tight for my liking. You should definitely try them on. I haven’t worn them yet, but when I do, you will definitely see them here. What do you think?
Don’t mind the glare in my eyes, I was running out the door to an event. I did make sure to snap a photo of some pieces Torrid had sent me. Yes, I did get the package that day. Thank goodness, because I didn’t know what I was going to wear. And since this was a casual L.A. happy hour, I thought this would be perfect.
I’m wearing Torrid’s Feather Print Tube Top and Source of Wisdom Black Luxe Skinny Jean. The top is really light and has a little cinching under the bust, which I liked because it gave me some shape. I think the best thing was the fact that it didn’t fall down every second like some tube tops do. Now, the skinny jean is really soft and you know I love a stretchy jean. They aren’t heavy and thick like normal denim, which I appreciated, because it was pretty warm.
I kept the accessories simple with Bongo earrings from Kmart, bracelets bought at a yard sale, and a ring I got in Downtown L.A. for $1! My shoes are by Jefferey Campbell (Nordstrom Rack), I love the back of the heel. For some reason it makes me feel fierce!
Disclosure: I was gifted the clothing from Torrid and earrings from Kmart. This by no way affects my review. The above is my true and honest opinion.

Ever since I wore that blue dress to the Full Figured Fashion Week runway finale, I can’t get the color out of my head.
Now, it’s not just any kind of blue, it’s more like cobalt blue. It can easily transition into the fall season and looks good on pretty much anyone. Don’t we love that?
You know I’ve said it before, but adding an accessory in a bright color like this really stands out. And it’s easier to experiment with these bold colors, when it’s just a shoe or piece of jewelry.
Just look at this Enigma Slide Sandal from Endless.com and BCBGMaxAzria Abstract Stone Bracelet from Lord & Taylor. I can see these accessories getting a lot of use out of them.
Once again…you know I can’t leave my UK ladies out! I found this Ravel Generous Wedge Sandal and Elasticated Cuff Bracelet (on sale!) over on the plus size ladies fashion web site Marisota.
I can just see me know wearing them with a white summer dress.
Now, that I’m looking at these colors, I can’t help but be reminded of the beach or a cold glass of water. LOL! I’m such a day dreamer!!
There’s nothing like getting beautiful and sexy French lingerie in the mail. OK…I’ve never really gotten French lingerie in the mail until recently. Panty By Post sent me this amazing pair of lace lavender (super soft) undies from their Signature Line.
Sign up for one of their monthly subscriptions (from the Signature Line or Bridal Line) and you can get a panty or two each month in the mail. The guys can even get in on this too with an Eco-pouch boxer. You also have a choice of thong, hipster, bikini, or a mix of styles. They go up to a size xxxxl and they mail internationally.
Buy a subscription for yourself or as a gift. Imagine getting a “A pretty panty. Mailed Monthly.” I think I can get used to this. “The secret to French women’s confidence? It’s all about what’s underneath.”

This really is a sneak of a sneak peek of the Autumn/Winter collection from everyone’s favorite Danish brand, Carmakoma.
According to Carmakoma…
”Eyes on you” is created in tribute to the strong and independent woman, who enjoys life and the attention surrounding her.
This woman is well-balanced and fearless of the attention her positive energy and strength fosters – she has the courage to indulge in it. Her curiosity for the unknown and her persistent personality gives her the strength to be and think differently. Strong and determined she explores the world and refuses to compromise. She discovers life with an experimental mind and seizes the moment and any opportunity when present.
The styles in this collection are designed to create a fine balance between the simple and the sophisticated. The curvy woman is given the perfect opportunity to style herself compatible with her personal expression and mood in the event of any occasion. We strive for the perfect fit, which compliments her curvy body. The individual identity is constructed and created – compromise is no option. A beautiful ´butterfly´ unfolds.
I can’t wait to see this collection. The images look very sexy. Don’t you just love wearing all black.
“Eyes on You” will be available in shops August/September 2011.
You know the saying…a good man is hard to find. Well, I’ve changed it around a bit. A good dress is hard to find.
What do you have to do around here to find a dress that isn’t too short (butt hanging out) and too tight (my ribs are showing)? I will save all that for the bolder and more courageous curvy girls.
I will stick to the classic, yet chic silhouettes with a fun print. Please for the love of fashion. Don’t be afraid of prints! I know I say that all the time, but it’s true.
For me, these styles are so versatile. A lot of them are easy to dress up or down, day to night. You know me. I have to have options. Something like this strapless empire waist Donna Morgan dress (left). OK, I really want this dress.
Don’t worry my gorgeous UK readers, I didn’t forget about you. I found these printed dresses while searching the womens clothing catalogues of JD Williams. No fair, I wish they shipped to the U.S.
I guess all the good dresses are online. That’s where I found these. Time to get my online shopping on.
