You can call it a tribal, aztec, or even southwestern print. It actually reminds me of a sarape. That’s a brightly colored mexican blanket or shawl, by the way.
I remember having a blanket like this as a teenager, but that was in my anti-bright color days. So, it was taupe, black, and white. Whenever I look at these, I feel like go to Tijuana and buying a few of those blankets. LOL.
Ove the past two days of shopping, I’ve seen the print every where. Especially, in the handbag world. I even bought myself one today at Old Navy. I also saw a lot of ponchos in this sprint. It’s really boho chic or is it surfer girl?
The debate of wearing shapewear continues. You either wear it or you don’t. I am very proud of my body and I wear shapewear. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Wearing it won’t make me loose 10 pounds, but it does smooth me out. With some women, that can definitely mean a boost in their confidence. We all know what it’s like to wear something we love and feel very comfortable in it.
Women with Control is all about making women feel good in their clothes. They are a lifestyle collection, comprised of pants, leggings, capris, dresses, skirts and tops that are specifically designed to control your body shape. Combining 85% cotton and 14% spandex, Women With Control has set itself apart from other brands on the market because most apparel only has 2-5% spandex, making the pieces unflatteringly hug the body rather than control and support your shape.
I was orginally supposed to review a few pieces, but they didn’t fit me. So, I want to give it away to one of you. I have their tummy control tank top and a pair of boot cut pant Both in a size 3X (26-28).
As you can tell, the two basic pieces can be paired and mixed with almost anything in your wardrobe. You can find more of their pieces on QVC.com.
To enter, leave a comment below and tell me how you’d dress up these two basic pieces. Make sure you leave a valid email address or your entry will not count.

If you read this blog, then you know my love for shoes…especially Dolce Vita. Say hello to Rosetta, Dahlia, Briar, and Jemma. Aren’t they beauties? As I get ready for fall, I can’t help but think ahead and start looking for new shoes. I don’t normally buy suede, for many reasons, but these are true inspiration aren’t they? I will take one of each please. Now, if only the Shoe Gods will listen… Read more
The Kimono, a traditional Japanese garment, has always inspired fashion trends. Kimono actually means “a thing put on.” And derives from ki “wear” and mono “thing.” Just a little fashion lesson for ya.
They feature the the wide sleeves and some even have a sash as the waist. It’s definitely not your traditional Kimono, it’s just a trend inspired by it. I’m dying over the Dorothy Perkin’s Orange kimono dress!
Thank you to everyone who voted for me to be included in City Chic’s next blogger lookbook! I made the cut and will be featured in the next one. In fact, I’m currently shopping for my next City Chic outfit (LOL).
I think my nails are officially excited for China Glaze’s Fall 2011 METRO collections in “Downtown” and “Uptown.”
“Uptown” is also a 6 piece box collection, which includes CG in the City, Urban-Night, Traffic Jam, City Siren, Street Chic, and Brownstone.
“Downtown” is a 6 piece box collection, which includes Skyscraper, Concrete Catwalk, Westside Warrior, Trendsetter, Loft-y Ambitions and Midtown Magic.
I’m wearing CG in the City below. You get all the glitter on a subtle purple/grey background. It’s such a great color. I’m kind of in a hurry for summer to be over. I want to start wearing all these colors!
What METRO collection is for you? Uptown or Downtown?

She looks stunning and I’m happy they are using a size 18 model. Make sure you leave a comment, so they know how much we love them using her and models that look like her. But, I will say…I’m kind of sad they covered her up in all the images they chose. She’s a very confident women with a beautiful body. There’s no need to cover that up!
I got this “Confidently Curvy” undies by Custom Plus at Full Figure Fashion Week. When I wear them, I feel super sexy and sassy. I can’t help it.
Custom Plus is a “custom apparel site, which caters exclusively to the plus size consumer.” That means you can design your own pair of undies, tank top, t-shirt, or tote bag with your own design or choose one of theirs. And the best part is, they offer sizes 0-32!
It’s not just for women either. They carry men, youth, babies, toddlers, and apparel for dogs. Yes, dogs…Fluffy gets a t-shirt. Their customizing tool is super easy to use too. I love this idea and can’t wait to order from them!

It was another hot weekend in Souther California! I know it’s been hot all over the country and that makes it hard to actually want to go outside. But, I had a 3-year-old’s Hello Kitty birthday party to go to. You can’t miss those!
I grabbed this Fashion to Figure dress I’ve had in my closet for a few weeks and it was perfect weather to wear it. Besides, this is one of the colors I’ve been loving this summer.
The dress is no longer available on the web site, but I can tell you it’s a beautiful turquoise rayon summer dress with an embroidered ruffle on top. The straps are adjustable and there’s an elastic band under the chest, to give it shape.
I was a little worried that it would be too short, but it actually hit at the right spot for me. I wore my tan Aldo wedges (that are hard to button) and headed out the door.
Everything was cool until there was a gust of wind that flew right up the skirt. It seems like the dress wanted me to flash people or something! LOL
I’m so jealous of you east coast ladies that have a Fashion to Figure in your city. No fair. They need to come to Los Angeles!
Disclosure: This dress was gifted by Fashion to Figure. The above is my true and honest opinion.
In today’s Eco & animal friendly fashion world, I’m always interested to see what new item will catch my eye. I was supposed to attend the launch party of the Gunas collection below, but couldn’t make it. All I have is this lookbook to drool over. This Eco-vegan luxury line. I do wish I could feel the handbags myself, curious about the quality. What do you think? Is Eco the way to go?
Here’s a photo my girl Rachel, from The Art Muse, took of me at the Victoria’s Secret dinner in Hollywood. It’s a better view of the dress I bought at Haute CurVture. I think I was the most colorful person there. LOL! Thanks for the photo Rachel!! xoxo
