Fresh off their win for best blush and best primer from BeautyHeaven.com’s Glosscars Beauty Awards, Napoleon Perdis’ Bronze Patrol and Auto Pilot have definitely made an impression in these neck of the woods.
The first thing I noticed about Bronze Patrol ($50) was it’s swirled baked powder. It shimmers with gold flecks and leaves an amazing sun-kissed look. All you need is one sweep of this paraben free bronzer. And I found out it’s enriched with Vitamin’s A and C.
Now, the Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer ($39) deserves it’s award too. lt’s a very gentle, but effective primer. Just put it on before your foundation (even after your moisturizer). No worries, it’s scientifically formulated to allow your makeup to “automatically” glide over the skin. And it helps your make-up last.
Let’s just say these two award winner’s have made their point and it’s definitely been noted.
What are your favorite Napoleon Perdis products?

How many times have you purchased something only to have it sit in your closet, brand new with the tags? I know I’m not the only one.
That was the case with this dress I bought from ASOS Curve last year! You might remember it.
I decided to take the dress with me on my recent trip to Miami. I didn’t even think I was going to wear it. But, after many outfit changes, I decided to finally wear it out.
It’s now my favorite dress and I plan to wear it more often. It’s amazingly comfortable and I feel like it’s made for my body.
Nevermind that fact that my friend Ivory has been yelling at me to wear it. Thanks Boo!
Now let’s see what else I have in the back of my closet.
You all know how much I believe in loving the skin you’re in. Now…yes, wait for it…there’s an app for that (I had to say it). The Body Beautiful iPhone app is now available for only 99¢. That’ s less than $1 to remind you on a daily basis how beautiful you are. Read more

Editor’s Note: All information in this post is from The Susan G. Komen for the Cure web site. I am not a doctor, I am only passing on information from a credible site. Please seek a medical professional if you have any questions or concerns.
According to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure web site, Breast cancer is a type of cancer where cells in the breast divide and grow without normal control. Between 50 and 75 percent of breast cancers begin in the ducts, 10 to 15 percent begin in the lobules and a few begin in other breast tissues.
Tumors in the breast tend to grow slowly. By the time a lump is large enough to feel, it may have been growing for as long as 10 years. However, some tumors are aggressive and grow much more rapidly.
It is important to understand the difference between invasive breast cancer and non-invasive breast cancer, called ductal carcinoma in situ (kar-sin-O-ma in SY-too). Click here to find out more.
Breast self-exam (BSE) is not recommended as a screening tool for breast cancer. However, Susan G. Komen for the Cure® recommends that you become familiar with the way your breasts normally look and feel. Knowing what is normal for you may help you see or feel changes in your breast.
If you notice any of the warning signs of breast cancer listed below, see your health care provider.
- Lump, hard knot or thickening inside the breast or underarm area
- Swelling, warmth, redness or darkening of the breast
- Change in the size or shape of the breast
- Dimpling or puckering of the skin
- Itchy, scaly sore or rash on the nipple
- Pulling in of your nipple or other parts of the breast
- Nipple discharge that starts suddenly
- New pain in one spot that doesn’t go away
If you feel a lump in your breast, do not panic. Most lumps are not breast cancer, but something less serious, like a benign breast condition (more on benign breast conditions).
Some lumps will go away on their own. Often, they are related to your menstrual period and will go away by the end of your cycle. However, it is best to see your health care provider just to be sure.
Please remember this post is not to scare you, but make you more aware of this disease. Let’s be vigilant and more aware of our health. Early detection and screening is key!!
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for 3 years now. It really seems just like yesterday. Back then, I would have never imagined to be where I am today.
I’m not at all on blogger celebrity status. In fact, probably not even close. LOL. But, I do love what I do and what I get to experience. I consider myself very blessed.
Last week, I was invited to attend Latina Magazine’s 15th anniversary party by COVERGIRL. I’ve been reading this magazine since it was first published. So, this was very exciting for me.
I kind of waited until the last minute to buy my dress. I wanted a very simple LBD. I found this dress over at Torrid and paired it jewlery from Aldo and shoes from Torrid. My makeup is all COVERGIRL, especially the lipstick. It’s Ruby Slipper from the Queen Collection.
I just happened to get my make-up touched up by Artemis, the Beauty Editor of Plus Model Magazine. She’s super sweet and couldn’t believe this was our first time meeting in person. I even got to hang out with Cid from CidStyleFile.com. Love that chick!
I had an amazing night…check out a few pictures below.

What do we know about pleats? We know it’s defined as a “type of fold formed by doubling fabric back upon itself and securing it in place.” But, did you know there are 11 types of pleats? I didn’t either!
All I do know, is that when I went shopping the other day, I saw a lot of pleated pieces. Oh, and I’m not a big fan of ironing pleats. Too tedious! But, I do love the way they look. I’m kind of eyeing the burgundy Evans pleated maxi skirt (#11).
So, what do you think?
Are pleats the way to go?

As part of Curves and Chaos going “PINK” for Breast Cancer Awareness month, I’m going to featuring brands and events that benefit the cause.
I actually got the email from Forever 21 last week about their support for the fight against breast cancer.
They have a special Pink is Courage collection, they will donate 10% of each item sold from that collection to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
I went in on Friday and bought the Strength French Terry Pullover $19.80. I can’t wait to wear it and show my support.
I love that they are offering these items in different sizes, especially in their plus collection. The entire Pink is Courage collection is priced $4.80-$29.80. I’m sad, I didn’t see that umbrella when I was in the store. Guess, I have to go back and get it.
What will you buy?
Curves and Chaos is going pink in October, all to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I hope to honor the memory of my aunt and all of those affected by this horrible disease.
I have a lot planned throughout the entire month. You’ll learn essential health information and tips, what you can do to help, and how you can support the fashion brands out there that are helping the cause themselves. I’ll even have a giveaway each week!
My main goal is help educate you, and of course bring awareness.
