With only a few weeks of summer left, I’m already craving sweaters. Fall is calling me and so are these knits with their bold stripes.
Sorry summer lovers, but it’s going to cold soon and I can’t wait to bundle up.
Weather it’s a cardigan, poncho, or cropped sweater-bold stripes are looking really chic for the fall. They can be paired with a wide leg or skinny jean and a great pair of boots or flats. Ohhhhh a chunky necklace too! Sorry, fashion makes me excited. LOL.
Awwww….hurry up and get cold already!
Are bold stripes in your fashion future?

Last month, I read about a super crazy amazing fashion blogger opportunity (which will remain anonymous).
The moment I saw it-I knew I had to be there. I felt like it was actually designed for me and my plans for this blog. So, I applied and haven’t heard anything in about a month. Today, I emailed for an update and turns out they are sold out. I’m not going to lie, my heart kind of sank.
To be clear, the people from that “opportunity” did reply back to my questions of their selection process and being the skeptical blogger I am, I don’t believe it for one second. I’ll spare you the excuses.
Of course, the first thought is…”Is it because I’m fat?” Or maybe they just don’t like me, my style, or the mission of my blog? I could be totally wrong. I guess, I’ll never know. And that’s fine. They can allow and invite whoever they want. It is their event, not mine.
Besides, I don’t blog for them. I blog for me and my love of fashion and shopping. I know I’m not perfect. No matter how much confidence and self-acceptance I have in who I am, there’s still a part of me that is very aware of the discrimination among the fashion blogging community as a whole.
But, I promise I will not be defeated. The minute my heart sank, it sprung right back up! Because, I reminded myself of some of the amazing opportunities within this plus size fashion community that I’ve been a part of. Opportunities, I wouldn’t trade for the world. In fact, I have one I was just told about the other day that had me dancing in my seat. I appreciate it all. The support from our community has been overwhelming and it just keeps getting stronger. And that’s the way I like it.
Remember, I might be fat, but I LOVE fashion just as much as any other blogger in this room does.
Cid (CidStyleFile.com) and I attended the Taylor Swift concert last night courtesy of COVERGIRL. I wasn’t a fan…until I met Tayler and saw her perform. She’s an amazingly sweet and talented person. And she even said I was pretty! So, now I really LOVER her. LOL. And yes, I was wearing COVERGIRL last night.
A beautiful pair of shoes is not that hard to come by now-a-days.
In fact, I was just browsing the web and came across a pair of booties from Sam Edelman. I am in lust with all of his beautiful shoes. And of course you will be too. That’s where the Shoe Fever kicks in. Enjoy shoe lovers…
I’ve said it many times before on this blog, but I’m always looking for a comfortable wireless bra. I get so irritated when a wire starts poking me! And because I am larger in the chest, finding a wireless bra that will actually support me and offer full coverage can be difficult.
That’s why I literally jumped at the chance to review Playtex’s 18 Hour bra. They sent me the Ultimate Lift and Support bra and their Seamless Smoothing bra. I know us large chested women are skeptical when it comes to support. That’s what you have me for. Here’s how I felt about each bra.
I was sent the Ultimate Lift and Support bra in nude.
First of all, yay! for the comfort strap. There’s nothing worse than a bra strap that digs into you. I know some of you want to look cute, but there’s no need for the pain. The strap is wide and thick enough to help relieve any shoulder pressure. They stay in place too.
As for the shaping, the bra does give you the natural shaping of your breast and there’s no wire poking! Woohoo! I accidentally fell asleep with it on the other day, and it didn’t bother me one bit.
Now, I could always use more lift, but this is one of the best wireless bras that’s I’ve tried.
Out of the two bras, the Seamless Smoothing style is my favorite. It was also sent to me in nude.
I liked the shape this bra gave my chest. It gave me a smooth and natural look under my clothes. Which, I think would make a great t-shirt bra.
It has wide side straps to offer the much desired back and side smoothing. To be honest, I didn’t see my fat disappear, but there was some smoothing.
This bra also offers the wide and cushioned straps for shoulder comfort. And I noticed that their “No-Slip” straps do stay in place. I’d buy this bra for the straps alone.
Both bras are in my top five of wireless bras!

Oh Las Vegas…I love you. Except when you’re hitting 107 degrees! I guess that’s what I get for visiting in the middle of August. Ugh! It was so flippin’ hot. But, that’s OK. I was there this past weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday. She hasn’t been there in a really long time, so I decided to kidnap her and my brother.
We took the four hour road trip from Los Angeles and made our way to “Sin City.” Did I mention it was hot?
Because of this heat, I knew had to wear Torrid’s Smocked Black and White Polka Dot Romper ($48.50). It was perfect and it kept me nice and cool as we gambled and walked to a few casinos. A few people thought it was a dress. I do wish it had pockets, that would have made my day. I also wore their Silver Large Bow Necklace ($12.50). As you can see, it’s the perfect size.
What do you think? Would you buy this romper?

If you know ANYTHING about me, then you know I love a good sale. Here are a few I found. Of course as with all sales, some restrictions do apply. So, make sure you read the fine print. If I missed anything or if you know of another sale, please share with us! Pretty please!
Stylist Rachel Zoe not only dresses the hottest celebrities out there, but she also has her own collection. I’ve see her designs before, but I came across a few of her accessories yesterday and thought…”hmmm those are pretty cute.” Nothing to holler about, but great basics.
Then I looked at the price points for her shoes and handbags. They start at $295 and up. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think her pieces are a little overpriced. I love her unique personality, but that’s not really reflected in her collection. Unless, she was purposely trying to mimic all the bags and shoes she’s bought over the years. Some of them do have a vintage touch.
I want to know what you think.
Would you buy at these prices because your genuinely like her designs and because of her “celebrity” status?
OK…I have this thing where I’m kind of anal about lotions that are not only thick and creamy, but actually moisturize. There’s nothing worse than putting on lotion and two seconds later your hands feel drier than than they did before you put it on! That’s my little lotion rant.
That’s why I’ve been really obsessed with body butters lately. If you haven’t tried a really good, rich and creamy body butter, then you’re dry skin is really missing out. It’s way better than a cream or lotion. It’s thicker, giving it a luxurious feel. I will warn you, most of them will not dry quickly, thus giving you that “greasy” feeling. But, I kind of like that when I’m slathering it on.
If you haven’t figured it out, I love experimenting with different beauty products.
Body Butters range in price and come in different scents. There are a ton of brands out there, including organic and natural. It really is up to you to try them out for yourself. My first experience was with Clinique’s Deep comfort body butter and that’s pretty much what got me where I am today.
Wait…I just saw something called “hair butter?” Oh snap! I have to check that out. In the meantime, take a peek at the few body butters I found below. Do you use any of them? What do you think?
The first time I saw Ashley Stewart’s 10-way dress, I was kind of in love. Ok, I was in love. It was in this beautiful red color and from that moment on, it was always on my mind.
So, when Ashley Stewart offered to sponsor an outfit for BlogHer I immediately bought this dress in navy. Yeahhhhh…I want them in each color now.
I ended up wearing it on the last night of BlogHer. I was asked to host an event and I knew this dress would be perfect. Just like the model in the picture, I wore my nude Jessica Simpson suede peep toe pumps. I also bought this beautiful gold layered necklace from Ashely Stewart.
And since there are 10-ways to wear this dress, I went with the strapless look. If you’re wondering how to tie the dress, you’ll be happy to know that they have an awesome video tutorial on their web site. You can find it here: http://www.ashleystewart.com/landing/10_ways_dress
The dress is so comfortable and with so many ways to wear it, you definitely get your money’s worth. It’s only $59!
Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures because I was too busy running around. But, I do have a few pics that Cid from CidStyleFile.com took.
Now, I’m not afraid to admit that I made a MAJOR fashion no-no. I wore a tan colored strapless bra underneath the dress and when someone took photos with a flash, which was EVERYONE, you could see my bra. I think I was just so busy with the whole event I didn’t think about it. So, with a little bit of “editing” here are some pics of the dress.
P.S. After the pics, you HAVE to read about Ashley Stewart’s Passport to Fashion!
This photo was taken by Liz from Peach on Earth. She’s so flippin’ cute! Love her! Thanks Liz!!

Tory Burch has always caught my eye, especially with that logo! I’m sorry, I’m not normally about logos, but I can’t help but look when I see someone wearing one of her pieces. Especially if it’s an accessory.
I have featured Tory in one of my first Style & Designer pieces here.
I was doing some research last night for the next issue of Plus Model Magazine and I couldn’t help but fall in love every time I saw one of her handbags. So, today I went looking for a few pieces and found these.
She’s keeps everything so classic and clean. Something I really appreciate when it comes to accessories. I would take everything here, because I can’t choose just one.
Although, the boots are kind of calling my name.
What would you rather wear, the flats or the boots?
