Dolce Vita for Target

Yes, you read that right. Dolce Vita has designed a line of shoes for one of my favorite stores, Target! So, frickin excited!

First of all, I would just like to ask…How did I not know about this? Oh that’s right, my laptop died when I was in N.Y.C., when all of this was happening!

These faux leather delights retail for $29.99-$34.99 and the flats also come in gold and grey. The oxfords are available without studs in black, but are available in grey with the studs. Many options! (you can click on the pic for info)

The ankle boots are mine! I called them! Has anyone gotten their hands on a pair yet? How is the fit and quality?

Update: I just ordered the ankle boots, apparently they aren’t in store yet. But, you can order them online. It says they should arrive in 2-4 weeks. Yay!

Color Inspired: Purple

I’ve been in such a “purple” kind of mood lately. It’s not a color I normally wear, but I’m starting to step out of my color “comfort zone.” I’ve always been afraid to look like Barney or something. What was I thinking? I would have to dress head-to-toe in this color to look like this pre-schooler’s idol. But, now I know I can add a splash of color without getting out of control.

What color(s) have you been hesitant about wearing? Do you wear them now?

Last Minute Summer Wish List

I know summer is almost over, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep looking for that chic summer dress! These dresses are from Saks Fifth Avenue’s Salon Z department…so they are probably going to remain on my wish list due to budget restraints. That’s OK…a curvy girl can still look, can’t she?

Take Eucerin’s “Skin First Pledge”

I am always on the hunt for that perfect hand cream. You know the one that doesn’t feel greasy, but can still moisturize. Yes, I’m one of those skin health people. You should be one too! When was the last time you took a second out of the day to handle your skin care business? It’s so

important! That’s it…you need to take a pledge…now! Eucerin is here to help and you get a free sample (I love free!) of their Daily Skin Balance while you’re at it (for a limited time). All you have to do is take their “Skin First Pledge” on Facebook I took mine at BlogHer.

Eucerin is on it! Read what they have to say:

Did you know that our skin is our first line of defense against infections, germs and pollutants? Or that more than half of our lifetime UV exposure occurs before we’re 20? By taking the Skin FIRST Pledge, you’re not only receiving free product – you’re also raising awareness around the importance of good skin care. As a bonus, for every pledge made, Eucerin will make a donation to Healthy Women, the nation’s leading independent health information source for women. -Eucerin.com

Bank Breaker V$. Bargain: Snakeskin Pump

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly need another pair of shoes…I start craving a pair of snakeskin pumps. Man, I have shoe issues. I have my eye on these

The ‘bargain’ pump is the Madeline Gabean Peep-Toe for $32.97. Not bad, not bad.

So, is it going to be the ‘Bank Breaker’ or the ‘Bargain’ pump?

New York City: Part II

Guess what lucky duckies? I found a few more pics from New York City. Ok, they aren’t the best quality, but it’s all I have. And I really want to encourage you all to head out to San Diego for next year’s BlogHer conference.

The first pic is an outfit I wore to do some running around in. I found this great dress at Target, but it was a little too short for me, so I threw on some leggings. It was so hot and humid this day, but the dress kept me cool and the AC in the taxi helped a lot! It’s an easy piece to dress up too. I couldn’t find it on the Target site, sorry.

I made my way downtown to get a peek at some of the pieces from the

Who is your favorite fashion designer and why?

Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. He captures everything great about the Parisian woman – glamour, power, and playfulness. And, the bags? Don’t even get me started on the bags.

What is one fashion accessory/item you can’t live without?

My LV handbags are a must-have. Please don’t make me choose just one of them.

If you were allowed to create a beauty product, what would it be and what would you name it?

“Fully Functioning Concealer” would be the best concealer known to woman, perfect for camouflaging dark undereye circles and treating acne and blemishes.

If you only had 10 minutes to pack for a fashion extravaganza in your favorite city, what would you bring and where would it be?

Paris is my favorite city so packing all the right pieces in such little time would be crucial. I would pack v-neck tees in a rainbow of colors, two cardigans, dark wash jeggings, dark grey trousers, opaque black leggings, a high-waisted white and black dress, a few statement necklaces and bracelets, pale pink nail polish, flats, pumps,my makeup kit, and a few of my favorite headbands!

Do you live by a fashion philosophy or quote? What is it?

Handbag Delight: Rebecca Minkoff

As I walked across the BlogHer Expo, I came to an Ebay/Bill Me Later booth. That is where I saw almost every woman walk by and pick up this black leather clutch. I walked over and saw this gorgeous black Rebecca Minkoff delight. This one lady even told me it was hers, yet it wasn’t for sale. She had that look in her eye too! Now, that’s love.

You know what handbag love is right? Kind of like I LOVE these stunning Rebecca Minkoff bags and I’d eat air for a month so I can buy one. Yeah…kind of like that.

Lane Bryant Review – Plus Win & Save!

New York, New York…you stole my heart. I love this city and lucky for me the 2010 BlogHer conference was held here. I had so much fun making new friends, networking, and learning from the best in the blogging world. Plus there was so much swag! Amazing!

But, it wasn’t the perfect trip…let me briefly explain. My flight out of LAX was delayed and made me miss my connection. I was rebooked which delayed my arrival by 6 hours! I checked into the hotel and that night my laptop crashed. My cell phone battery was dying after only 30 minutes of being fully charged and the camera I borrowed didn’t work. I was having a tech nightmare. So, the photos you see are via my cell phone (after a new battery) and a small Kodak hand held camcorder. I apologize for the quality.

**BlogHer Recap: You already know I had an amazing time! Not only did I meet amazing women, but I had to the chance to get my makeup done at the P&G Home, I got tons of swag, and I met model Veronica Webb (very nice) and Bruce Jenner. I even took the time to talk to HauteLook, Shop Style, and White House Black Market about carrying extended sizes. ASSETS by Sara Blakely were on hand and we had a great conversation. Hopefully, I made great connections! Here’s a slideshow of some pics:

I know we’re close to the end of summer, but you can still rock your bright floral prints like Gabourey Sidibe. Here she is at “The Big C” premiere, owning her outfit. Love how she added the shrug. Her smile is so contagious!

Who is your favorite fashion designer and why?

I actually don’t have a favorite, I like to mix things up. And I don’t think that clothes have to be expensive to look good. But no doubt Balmain has great influence this season.

What is the one fashion accessory/item you can’t live without? I can’t live without bags.

Tiny ones for going clubbing, huge ones for shopping and everything in between! I’m a bag lady, LOL. At the moment I love black, studs, florals and pastel ones.

If you were allowed to create a beauty product, what would it be and what would you name it?

I think it would be a body butter. I looove body butters. It would be very floral and fresh scented, not too heavy and I’d call it Butter Me Up… or something. I totally just made that up, I’ve never really thought about it before, haha!

If you only had 10 minutes to pack for a fashion extravaganza in your favorite city, what would you bring and where would it be?

I’d bring my phone, my camera, a bottle of water and a snack. This could take all day! And oh, I’d be going to London.

Do you live by a fashion philosophy or quote? What is it?

Don’t be a slave to fashion. Make fashion work for you!

Style Trend: Summer Scarves

Accessories are an essential piece to any outfit. One of my favorite accessories is the multi-use scarf. Love it in all materials! This week alone I bought 2 scarves! And as I was perusing my fave blogs, I came across a few outfit posts where they accessorized with a scarf. Yes, I know it’s summer, but you can still wear them! Just make sure to stay away from the heavy materials like 100% pure wool and cashmere. I tend to lean towards the silk, cotton, and linen. FYI…I want these!

I love thrifting scarves too! They are really inexpensive and can be used in so many different ways. Have you run out of ways to wear your favorite scarf? I found this cool article from

So, what do you think about accessorizing with a scarf this summer?
