COVERGIRL knows how to throw a party. Last night, they kicked off the MTV Video Music Awards with a pre-party featuring performances by Becky G and Jessie J. Yes, they are not only “Easy, Breezy, and Beautiful,” but they’re both extremely amazing performers. Total girl power! Watch the video I took of them both performing at the end of this post, which includes a cover of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and “Bang Bang!”
Sigh…I miss school. Yes, I’m one of those people. I love history, writing papers, researching, and all of that good stuff. But, one of my favorite things ever was the back-to-school shopping. Well, just because we’re adults and no longer in school, doesn’t mean we have to necessarily miss out on the fun. We can go out and do a little shopping for ourselves! Here are seven back-to-school fashion trends that even we can wear.
If you live in Southern California and are a fan of the Australian plus size retailer City Chic, then you’re going to love this. They have finally opened their first U.S. store location in Los Angeles and they have more stores opening soon! I was invited to an exclusive in-store preview—before they opened to the public.
Are you ready? Let’s go back to the 90’s. I just realized that was ummmmm…over 20 years ago. I’m proud to say I was killing it back then with my style! Thanks to my mom of course. I think what I loved the most about 90s fashion trends were the floral baby doll dresses and Dr. Martens boots. Yes, I went there. Well, just like all trends, they tend to circle back and this seems to be the style of the moment.
There are perks to this blogger life. Like meeting amazing people, who turn into awesome friends. It doesn’t happen all of the time, but when it does—it’s golden. Elann Zelie is one of those awesome friends. I’ve written about her line Zelie for She before. You know I love her style and passion for creating fashion. And yes, she is passionate about it! She gifted me a piece from her latest collection and I wore it proud. In fact, I can’t wait to wear it again.
I’ll be the first person to admit I’m not a fan of the intense heat. But, I do love summer in Los Angeles, it’s not too unbearable (like other cities). Now, if it could stay 75 degrees the entire season—I’d be a happy Angeleno (we know it won’t). And since it seems like I’m always on-the-go lately, I have to make sure this chick stays cool and refreshed while I hit the streets. That means a bag of necessities and these summer tips (courtesy of Bottled Starbucks® Iced Coffee) that will beat the heat.
Sure pineapple’s are sweet, delicious, and remind us of sitting on a beach sipping a piña colada. Mmmmmmmm…Anyways, did you know the pineapple print trend is ready to invade? Well, apparently it is. Because, I found a lot of it…yes even a few pieces for us plus size gals. And of course I had to share it with you here. Below, you’ll find a few ways you can show your love and support to the tropical fruit.
It’s that time of year again, when rompers start to pop up every where. I personally love them. As you can see here, when I wore this floral one from Torrid. OK, it’s been a while since I’ve worn one, but that’s because I haven’t found the perfect plus size romper. You know, one that is not too short for starters. And it has to fit in all the right places. We all have our criteria for certain styles of clothing, don’t we? Besides, I think the romper is definitely a love or hate item.
For some odd reason, people seem to think that those of us who wear plus sizes can’t wear crop tops. Ummm…wrong! Yes, it’s consider a more daring fashion statement, but anyone can wear one—no matter their size. The only problem we may have is finding plus size crop tops that are stylish. There’s no need to worry, you know I wouldn’t leave you hanging like that.
I have a thing for maxi skirts. I adore them. I really want to wear them every single day. And they’re perfect for the spring and summer weather. I love them in all colors, prints, and super long! So, when a fellow blogger friend Jayka of Wacky Little House asked me how I style them, I couldn’t wait to share. Here are MY three favorite ways to style a maxi skirt.
New York Fashion Week has come and gone. Almost in an instant it seems. I was busy dealing with family issues, when BAM!—it was over. I did catch a few shows online, which was pretty awesome by the way. I’m always so inspired when I see the fashion hit the runway. And the trends just don’t stop at the clothes they’re wearing—you can’t forget the beauty side! Morgan Taylor Lacquer‘s nail team knows a thing or two about that. They were on hand (no pun intended) for a ton of shows!
