A few month’s ago, I found this really fun Jonathan Adler pouch. The minute I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. I bought it and then I kind of forgot all about it. It basically got lost in the abyss that is my room. Then, as if it was meant to be, it turned up—a week before Valentine’s Day. I knew I had to take it out to play before the official day of love.
I’ve always believed in investing in the basics and accessorizing or layering with stand out pieces. This is the same train of thought I use when I’m shopping for my hubby. It only makes sense. So, as I was looking around online, I came across the Old Navy Big & Tall section. I was impressed with some of the designs for men that they’re offering right now.
It’s no secret that L.A. doesn’t really have crisp fall days or chilly winters. That’s why I can get away with dressing like this in the middle of December. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not really complaining…OK maybe just a little bit. I’m that girl who loves cold winter days. But, I also love being able to wear long kimonos with short dresses and ankle boots. Living Doll Los Angeles sent me their Breezy Kimono (sold out), which I was drooling over since the moment I laid eyes on it.
I consider myself a denim kind of lady—wearing it all of the time. Truth is, I don’t wear dresses very often. But, when L’Oreal Paris invited me to attend the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas, I made sure to find one that added some much needed sparkle. I had a few outfits ideas in mind for the biggest night in Latin music. It was this look that made the cut!
Shout out to Helena, a fellow blogger over at PinkGuayoyo.com for inspiring this post. She asked me on Twitter what some of my favorite plus-size skinny jeans were. Then I realized, this is not the first time someone one has asked me that question. So, I set out to do a little research and see what the internet had to offer us in the skinny jean department.
I’m happy to report that it’s finally starting to feel like sweater weather around here. You don’t even know how happy that makes me. I’m a huge fan of chilly weather. I know you East Coasters probably think I’m crazy, but when you live in L.A. it’s not something you’re used to. This gloomy day helped me realize that it’s time to stock up on cozy sweaters.
If you need to know anything about me, at this very moment, then you should know I’m obsessed with kimonos. Like…I want to wear them all of the time. In fact, I bought one yesterday. I’m a sucker for the flowy material and yummy prints. Are you with me? Do you love them too? I went snooping around online and found 16 plus-size kimonos that should be in my closet right now.
After rummaging through the hubby’s closet, I realized he needs a few things for fall. Of course, he hates shopping, so that gives me the opportunity to have a little fun. So, I went online and found some things I think he’ll like. And that’s how I came up with these fall essentials for men. Now, these are items that are great for pairing with other existing pieces in their wardrobe and perfect for layering.
You have to love resort collections. Geared towards the holiday (AKA vacationing during winter) woman—they’re more like pre-spring/summer collection. I always look at it like that’s what I can expect in the upcoming seasons. And that’s what we get here with the Carmakoma Resort 2015 collection. It’s very European chic…I love that!
Fall is here and I’m sad to say that my wardrobe is not ready. As much as I wanted summer to be over, this procrastinator hasn’t really done any fall shopping. I blame it on the warm L.A. weather. Now, that I know it’s fall, there are five plus-size tops I want to add to my closet.
I think Los Angeles just got a few drops of rain. That and my continuing fall obsession with cardigans has kicked my need for “all things fall” into action. Yes, this includes a much-needed pair of ankle booties. I think I’ve found a pair I want, but there are a few other styles of ankle booties to consider for fall. Here’s my list.
When I found out that Lane Bryant was revamping their Lane Collection, I was anxious to see what they would come up with. Weren’t you? After renaming it to 6th & Lane, they’ve designed a modern and clean collection—one that I really appreciate. And after selecting a few pieces, I created the look below. They even supplied me with a gift card to give away to you (details below)!
