A few months ago, when I attended the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Super Saturday event, I was really happy to see that Rachel Pally was there supporting the cause. I was even more excited when I saw that she was selling pieces from her White Label Collection—Rachel Pally plus size line. I was immediately drawn to this dress. I thought, “this would be perfect for an outdoor wedding.” And I was right, this dress was perfect for my sister-in-laws beach-themed wedding.
Are you ready? Let’s go back to the 90’s. I just realized that was ummmmm…over 20 years ago. I’m proud to say I was killing it back then with my style! Thanks to my mom of course. I think what I loved the most about 90s fashion trends were the floral baby doll dresses and Dr. Martens boots. Yes, I went there. Well, just like all trends, they tend to circle back and this seems to be the style of the moment.
I’ll be the first person to admit I’m not a fan of the intense heat. But, I do love summer in Los Angeles, it’s not too unbearable (like other cities). Now, if it could stay 75 degrees the entire season—I’d be a happy Angeleno (we know it won’t). And since it seems like I’m always on-the-go lately, I have to make sure this chick stays cool and refreshed while I hit the streets. That means a bag of necessities and these summer tips (courtesy of Bottled Starbucks® Iced Coffee) that will beat the heat.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. My personal style has and always will be about comfort. That’s just who I am. I know there are people out there who suffer in silence (or not) to wear today’s hottest fashion trends. Not me! I’m all about being comfortable, while still wearing what I love—even right down to the bra. Yes, choosing the right bra is important and a must-have in my book.
Imagine a world where your favorite designer brands are on sale for up to 75% off, free food and drinks, a cool place to lounge, celebrities, and every single dollar goes to a worthy cause. It’s not an imaginary place, I’m describing the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s (OCRF) Super Saturday Los Angeles (AKA Designer Garage Sale) event that I was lucky enough to be invited to. Located at the famous Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, I was in shopping heaven!
Sure pineapple’s are sweet, delicious, and remind us of sitting on a beach sipping a piña colada. Mmmmmmmm…Anyways, did you know the pineapple print trend is ready to invade? Well, apparently it is. Because, I found a lot of it…yes even a few pieces for us plus size gals. And of course I had to share it with you here. Below, you’ll find a few ways you can show your love and support to the tropical fruit.
Ever since I was a little girl, choosing a dress to wear on Easter Sunday was kind of a big deal. Whether it was frilly and floral or simply chic, my mom always set aside some money for a my dress. Now, that I’m all grown up, I still make sure I have something special to wear on this day. This year, I set aside a dress that Lane Bryant sent me from their Lane Collection.
I’ve been feeling a little tropical lately. Blame it on the weather, my recent trip to the Dominican Republic, and a beautiful Topshop dress (that doesn’t come in my size). I just want to wear nothing but tropical prints. So, what do I do when that happens? I write about it here of course. I search the web for all things that inspire my tropical craving.
There are very few designers and brands out there that create fashion for all sizes. Some will design for straight, then later will create separate and different designs for plus sizes. Melissa Masse is one of those that designs for all—sizes XS to 3X. It’s very refreshing! I was recently invited to her spring preview and I fell in love with her vibrant prints and amazing fit.
Guess who cleaned out and rearranged her closet? Me! And while I was in there, I ran across this floral number from 2011! Now, let me be clear. I don’t normally wear short dresses. It’s just a personal preference. I will rarely wear anything above the knee. But, hey…why not change things up with a flirty floral dress?
We can all agree that sexy is a state of mind. Whether you’re wearing a potato sack, denim jeans, lingerie, or a designer gown; it’s up to you to determine what’s sexy. For me, what I wear underneath my clothes makes me feel “oh la la.” FYI, that means wearing a sexy bra. And I can’t shop for just any bras, I have to (proudly) check out the full-figured section. From lace, satin, balconette, to plunge—there are lots of sexy bras out there for us! Here are 10 of my favorite sexy full-figure bras.
Do you ever feel like you need a little help in the fashion department? Well, when I met Tim Gunn, he was more than happy to share some styling tips and fashion advice. He’s such a down to earth guy. I know I keep saying that, but it’s such a breath of fresh air when celebrities are nice. Anyways…one of the things he shared with us were his wardrobe essentials. I actually took video of it and wanted to share it with you guys. I even included my own plus size picks below.
Where do I even begin about my love for this trend. You know it’s one of my favorites. I think I’ve written about it a few times here on my blog. But, this time it’s more than just a pattern. It’s about the contrasting and color blocking that has my attention. Whenever the black and white trend comes back around, it’s always a little different. And this time it’s a definite favorite!
