FFFWeek Indie Designer Showcase: Curvato

Who loves dramatic glamour? I do! I do! That’s what Nicci Gilbert-Daniels gave us with her line…Curvato. As a member of the popular R&B group Brownstone, Nicci experienced low self-esteem “because of my size..Stylist often had to special order or custom make my clothing because buying fashionable clothing off the rack was not an option for me like it was for many of my peers.” Who hasn’t felt this or experienced this in some way?

FFFWeek Indie Designer Showcase: Youtheary Khmer

I first saw Youtheary Khmer show at Full Figured Fashion Week(end) in Los Angeles and she really stood out to me. That was two years ago and today she’s still impressing fashionistas around the world. Her current collection sold out the day it went on sale online. I think items are still on back order! I had a chance to chat with her at the recent FFFWeek press event and she’s still trying to catch her breath. She’s a very talented designer and I wish her nothing but success.

“Covering It Up” with Macy’s

Summer is officially here! And I can’t believe I forgot to wish you a “Happy First Day of Summer!” Bad bad blogger! Well…I hope you’re enjoying your summer so far. Have any of you hit the beach or the pool yet?

The heat is definitely rising in parts of the country and I know you’ll be reaching for your swimwear soon.  I don’t know about you, but I’ll be grabbing my swimsuit and my new cover-up.

OOTD: Sonsi “Be-YOU-tiful” Pop-Up Party

I just wanted to share a quick outfit post of what I wore to Sonsi’s “Be-YOU-tiful” Pop-Up Party. I wore this fun poncho top from H&M, pencil skirt from Forever 21 Plus Sizes, Sandals by Steve Madden, and necklace is also from Forever 21. I’m all about pencil skirts right now too! You’ll probably see me wearing these sandals a lot! The leather is super soft and they were pretty comfy. And this is a better picture of my newly cropped hair! What do you think? I kind of want to add my bangs back…yes or no?

Mary Kay Spring/Summer 2012 Trend Report Giveaway!

Yes, that’s me in all of my modeling glory. Sorry ladies, but that’s the best you’re going to get out of me…LOL! Last month, when I was invited to Washington D.C., Mary Kay offered to give me a celebrity makeover. Of course I said YES! The experience was…well…an experience. I’ve never been pampered like this and I’m definitely no model. But, that didn’t stop me from taking it all in!  Angie Escamilla, the stylist dressed me in Calvin Klein (top), Michael Kors (denim), and Rachel Roy (shoes). Celebrity Makeup Artist Luis Casco used products from Mary Kay’s Spring/Summer Trend Report . The same products that Mary Kay wants…

FFFWeek 2012 “Sonsi Be-YOU-tiful Pop-Up Party”

Full Figured Fashion Week 2012 was jammed pack with activities for bloggers, which I loved! I mean, come on…we’re the voice of fashion in the social media world. But, of course, that’s just my opinion LOL! I know one brand that appreciates that and definitely knows it is Sonsi. If you’re living in a cave and don’t know who they are…they’re an online marketplace destination that offers shopping and socializing for women sizes 12 and above. Sonsi hosted the “Be-You-tiful” Pop-Up Party for us bloggers and it was so much fun! Not only did we get a look at some…
