I’m a grown woman. One who can make decisions on what I like, don’t like, don’t want to buy, don’t want to buy into, and who I want to be. As a teenager, that was a whole other different story. I was just trying to figure out who I was, where I belonged, and who I wanted to be. I was easily influenced and often mislead by what would make me “popular” or liked by others.
Where are my internet obsessed ladies? If you can’t tell I’m raising my hand. OK…not so much obsessed, but it’s more like a necessity at this point as a blogger. Come on! I have to keep up to date in this social media world! And with all of my flying lately, I can’t stand to sit on an airplane for a few hours without doing something productive.
When it comes to beauty products I’m not afraid to admit I’m no guru. In fact, I feel like a beginner and that’s OK! Who’s with me? You won’t find any tutorials here! LOL! But, I do love to introduce you to products that will not only make you happy, but are easy to use and actually work! Just like these five L’Oreal Paris favorites that have been getting a lot of use lately!
When I think of how much I love New York City, I can’t help but think of all the access there is to fashion. It’s literally around every corner…like the Nina Shoes headquarters. First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to the always beautiful Lauren of Kurvayshus B. who got me in! Love this lady!
You all know I love fashion and beauty. And some of you might even know about my other passion…traveling. In fact, last year I introduced a new feature “Curvy Girl Travels.” It was a way to document and share my traveling adventures with you. OK…I only wrote two stories…but I really liked it! LOL!
Well…guess what? I’m bringing it back! With all of my recent traveling there’s so much I want to share with you! So, not only is this a fashion and beauty blog, but it’s a travel blog as well!
The minute I saw this high waisted JIBRI skirt, I knew I had to have it! I think it’s probably the boldest piece of clothing I own. I love it and I feel amazingly sassy in it. I wore it during the finale night of Full Figure Fashion Week.
Now, if the skirt looks a little big, it’s because it is. I actually had it taken out at the waist and I think the measurements got a little mixed up, because when I tried it on, it was too big. With the help of the wonderful Elann Zelie, we pinned the inside, but it was still a little big. But, that’s OK, cause I felt amazing in it! The construction of the skirt is impeccable, but you already knew that. I paired it with a tank I picked up at Nordstrom and a pair of teal suede t-strap platforms from Steve Madden. I was really happy with the entire look!
Are you a fitness fashionista or looking to become one? Cult of California recently had a launch party for their collection and it was pretty awesome. Held at the infamous Writer’s Room in Hollywood, invited guests were treated to black licorice flavored candy, music by Betty Ninja and the Nunchix, and a runway show.
Jen Wilder, the designer behind Cult of California, has given us fitness apparel you won’t be afraid to wear at yoga, Zumba class, or running errands. The line is definitely fierce with edge. I have a lot of favorites…don’t think I can choose just one. Check out the collection today…oh…and they are now accepting pre-orders!
