The ruffle top was extremely soft and comfy, but it was a little big on me. I usually wear a US size 18 and this was a Torrid size 2. I think the size 1 would have been perfect. I love the frills on the top, it added a very feminine touch to the outfit.
If you’re looking for a vintage inspired skinny jean, then you should really check these out. The denim is a great wash and I love the vintage touches. I was worried about the size when I was putting them on, I didn’t think they were going to fit. But, once I zipped them up, they fit like a glove. The jeans are made of this Virtual Stretch fabric, so they were very comfy. There are faux front pockets and I wish the waist was a little higher. But I loved how they fit me and I felt like they gave my butt some shape.
I’m curious if any of you have tried these jeans yet? How did you like them?
The top is a US size 12, but I’m a size 18 and it’s still roomy on me. Sorry for the poor image quality, I have to send my camera in to get fixed. So, the Blackberry has to do.

I know the sun is blazing here in L.A., but I am still day dreaming about fall trends! We have seen this cascading trend already, but I don’t see it going anywhere just yet. This time it has hit our knits and jackets for the upcoming season. They are so easy to pair with your favorite tanks or tees. And it’s the perfect “go to” look with a pair of booties and jeggings. It definitely gives us that layered look we all love. I think I want them all! Why does that always happen?

Yesterday, my husband and I had the pleasure of being photographed for Cafe Latino Lifestyle Magazine by the talented Melissa Valladares. It’s a contemporary Latino magazine published in Chicago. I’ll tell you more about it when it’s published. I had no idea what to wear. I was stressing out and very nervous, but then I thought…I’m just going to be comfortable. So, this is what I wore. I love the detail on the back of the top. Oh, excuse my bangs, I’m having a love/hate relationship with them right now. They don’t like to cooperate. The shoot was fun and easy; Melissa was great! Love this girl!

Nothing but fuchsia love for your lips!
Yes, I’ve lost it for the “right now” hot lipstick color! Pull out your fuchsia lipstick.
I was all over Target’s beauty section looking for the right shade. But, I was being really picky. And I’m allowed to be; it’s part of my beauty rights (I just made that up). I didn’t find what I was looking for, but today I’m heading to the drugstore on a fuchsia search.
Will you be part of the bold beauty babes and give fuchsia lipstick a try?
I was about to go to sleep, when I saw a link on twitter to these amazingly beautiful photos of the extraordinary Chenese Lewis and Whitney Thompson.
“Love Your Body Day Weekend is an annual event where women of all sizes come together to celebrate self-acceptance and to promote positive body image.”
I will be there on behalf of L.A. Fatshion Bloggers, I hope to see you there!
To use shape wear or to not use shape wear…that is the question.
Well, it is the question among us body loving curvy gals! I’ve heard the debate and honestly I’m kind of confused by it.
I tell myself that I love my body in all of its glory, but I do own a pair of Spanx (pre-fat girl body acceptance) and I received this pair of ASSETS Unbelievable Underwear Super Control ($18) at the BlogHer Expo.
I was very curious to try them out and after having them for a couple of weeks, I wore them. Yes, I was still fat after I put them on. They didn’t magically erase any pounds and I was still a size 18.
But, it did help because I was wearing a dress and I didn’t have to worry about the dreaded chub rub. I can’t stand that darn chub rub! Don’t get me wrong, I did notice I was wearing shape wear, but it wasn’t like I was instantly a straight size.
The underwear did smooth out the bumpy areas and I loved how they stayed put. No rolling down or creeping up here. And there were no panty lines; that’s always a bonus. I will wear them again, but only for those tight dresses.
So, to answer the great shape wear debate question…I can’t. It’s up to you and your personal preference. But, I would like to know what you think, anonymously of course. Take my little poll below.
This past weekend was kind of strange. I went shopping and I didn’t buy myself a thing. Yes…you read that right. I didn’t buy myself anything. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little disappointed in myself. Maybe, it’s the heat. It’s making me delirious. Excuse me a moment. I’m going to try and figure out what’s wrong with me. Take a lookie at these Juicy Couture bags, while I sort things out.
I came across this Chanel ad, of the beautiful Crystal Renn, on the über fab Madison Plus blog. This ad, according to The Cut, is being used for a store reopening on Spring Street in New York. While many question whether Renn is still considered a plus-size model, The Cut is questioning why they decided to crop out her body. It’s a valid point, being that Jean Paul Gaultier ad’s included her entire body in his fall campaign.
What do you think?
Is this a big deal or are some making a big deal out of nothing?
