It’s official, I have become obsessed with color. I am leaving my gray stage from this winter. I don’t know what it is, but when I think of putting together an outfit, I just want to add one bold colorful piece. Read more
I can’t help but fall in love with these printed dresses I found on your website. I also love that they are available up to a size XXXL. Which is super duper cool in my book. My favorite is the Paisley Tunic Dress and I am already envisioning myself wearing it and feeling foxy fab. Thank you for bringing these gorgeous dresses to my attention, you have made a curvy woman very happy.
Curves and Chaos
My top 3 favorite items hanging in the closet right now.
1. Racerback Knit Sequin Tank, Target
2. Peacock Mini Dress, Faith 21 (Forever 21)
3. Floral Skirt, Target
The tank is so fun and sparkly. I wore it with leggings and a cropped blazer on NYE in San Francisco. It’s longer than the average tank and roomy. Love it! The mini-dress is fun for going out and adding some color to the night. I’m not a fan of the belt, I actually wear a wider belt with it. For some reason it’s not on the Forever 21 web site. I haven’t worn the floral skirt yet, in fact I’m kind of wondering if I should wait until spring. If not, maybe I can pair it with some opaque tights. It has two pockets (which I love) and it’s fun and flirty! I can’t find this skirt on the Target site either. But all three items are super comfy and that’s one thing I look for in any piece of clothing I buy.
I learned a lot working there and I want to share a few tips with you:
- When picking out a style of sunglasses, always go with a shape that is opposite of your face shape/jaw line. For Example: If you have a round face, choose a square frame. Etc…
- Make sure they rest comfortably on your face. If they are resting on your cheeks or sliding off your nose, don’t buy them. It will make them uncomfortable to wear.
- Don’t wear them on the top of your head. It stretches the arms out and can lead to them breaking or not fitting correctly.
- Always use the cloth that comes with the sunglasses to clean them. Not your shirt or anything else. You will scratch the lens. Unless you don’t care about them…wipe away. You can also use rubbing alcohol to clean the lens. Works great!
One of my fave curvy gals, Jennifer Hudson, has been rockin’ the red carpet and the stage with her fashion choices. Here she is at a few Grammy spots and a recent MTV appearance. She looks like she may be slimming down as well. I hope she’s doing it for the right reasons. We all know what the pressure from Hollywood can do. Do you think she still have her curves? If she loses more weight will you look at her differently? Do you love her regardless? I love her no matter what! She’s beautiful and talented! I want to know what you think.
Then you, my dear curvy fashionista, is really going to love this style trend. I’ve been out and about and have noticed lace popping up everywhere. It can add a touch of femininity to a t-shirt and a ton of personality to your outfit. There is just something so sexy about lace!
The blogs are buzzin’ with Evans’ new ad campaign!
Featuring the top plus-size models in the industry, Evans has caught the attention of many.
Britney Vecchio, Hayley Morley, Crystal Renn, Amber Tolliver and Peeky are the “it” models. They’re gorgeous!
I’m inspired! Here is my Evans Wish List:
Being curvy is more than appearance…isn’t it? You should be comfortable with who you are no matter what shape you are? Growing up I was pretty average. In middle school, my crush told his friend that he didn’t like me because I was fat. And in high school, I was told by my doctor that I was the perfect weight for my height. Yet, I thought I was still fat. I look back now and think…What was I thinking?? I guess we set ourselves up for disaster when we sit there and compare ourselves to others. Something I didn’t realize until recently. (Yes, it takes this long sometimes.)
Today I am the ‘curviest’ I have ever been and not in the best of health. So, I’ve decided to work out and eat healthier to lower my cholesterol and get my curves in order. Does that sound fair? Lol…but I now realize that it doesn’t matter what size is on the tag. It doesn’t matter what the supermodels can fit it. The only thing that matters to me is that I am healthy and I feel good about myself-inside and out. There you have it, my epiphany for the day.
As I was out shopping this weekend, I found a pair of nude Nine West heels that had my name written all over them…until I tried them on and the heel was a little too high for me. But they were soooooo hot! I think I am going to venture back out this weekend and find me another pair. I know the nude shoe is going to be the “it” shoe for Spring. You can wear it with almost anything. It doesn’t have to be a heel either, try it in a flat or wedge. Do you already own a pair? What would you recommend wearing with it?
Yes, I am an avid shopper. Yes, my hubby does not like it. No, I will not stop. I am always in the mood for shopping. I am also a bargain shopper, so he can’t really complain that much! But, he still does (lol). Today I found this Belted Shawl Cardi Coat from Old Navy. I imagine myself wearing this on a chilly day. Looks pretty comfy and I love the color, they call it ‘Goodnight Nora.’
Spring is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear floral prints now.
I saw a pic of Scarlett Johansson wearing a floral print dress and it looked very chic. You can wear floral too! My only piece of advice is to not wear it head to toe.
Wear the floral print as a statement piece, while pairing it with a solid color pant, top, or cardigan. You can even do a great scarf like the one on the Torrid model (left).
Because I am curvy, I have always been afraid to wear prints. Not anymore. I’m stepping out the fashion box and I’m going to let fashion show the world who I am!
Thanks to Angela over ‘Plus Size and/or Tall‘ blog for giving me the heads up on this fashionable news.

For some reason, I am obsessed with purple. Not just any purple, but the plum-purple color. So, it would make sense for me to buy a handbag in this color. Right? Ok, it makes sense in my head. It doesn’t make sense to my hubby, but it never does!
I’m not just going to go out and buy any bag, I am definitely a curvy bargain shopper. I found these gorgeous bags below for under $100. That may still be a little pricey, but I guess it’s OK to look…this time.
