My Beauty Favorites / Burt’s Bees

You’ve all heard the phrase “the bee’s knees” haven’t you? It became popular in the 1920’s as a way to describe something as being excellent. That’s kind of how I feel about these Burt’s Bees products. To me, they are the bee’s knees. And they are perfect year-round. But, I especially love them during the fall and winter seasons. Here are this month’s beauty favorites.

The Power of Active Wear

Sponsored by Kohl’s. Never underestimate the power of active wear. For the past six months, I’ve been dealing with this bum ankle. You know, the one I severely sprained in San Diego. Regardless, I’ve been on a health journey, complete with it’s ups and downs. But, the minute I put on my activewear, something just clicks inside of me. I know it’s time to get down to business.

Style Inspired / Halloween

I can smell Halloween in the air. Can you? It smells like a mixture of pumpkins, gouls, and goblins. I admit that normally, I love to wear black. But, when this time of the year rolls around, that’s ALL I want to wear. The scariest night of the year, is really inspiring. Especially in the style department. I was looking around today and found some favorites of course. And you know I had to share them with…

Lane Bryant #CombatCancer Event / Video Recap

I was completely honored when Lane Bryant asked me to co-host their #CombatCancer event with the American Cancer Society. I couldn’t say “YES” fast enough. Hosting this event has inspired me to do more, including raise money for the American Cancer Society by walking in the Making Strides Los Angeles walk for breast cancer. I made sure to recap this special event, because it meant so much to me to be a part of this…

Fall Shades of Gray

This post is sponsored by Kohl’s. Ask anyone who knows me…I’m kind of obsessed with fall and all that goes along with it. Like…scarves. Yes, I might have a scarf addiction. But, we’re not here to just talk about that. Let’s chat about dressing for fall period. Even though it’s still really warm here in Los Angeles,  I do have my favorite season on the brain. I partnered with Kohl’s again to show you what…

Style Trend / Marsala Plus Size Picks

Marsala may be Pantone’s color of the year for 2015, but it’s always been one of my favorite colors. Personally, I call it burgundy or wine. Whatever you call it, this deep and dark red is shade is a favorite whenever fall hits. Which is basically now. Of course, I did some looking online and found some Marsala plus size pieces that I’d love to add to my fall wardrobe.

Are We Ready for Change in the Plus Size Fashion Industry?

If there’s one thing that bugs me the most about the plus size fashion industry, it’s the lack of true representation when it comes to body shape and size diversity. Not every plus size woman has a flat stomach, is hour glass shaped, or is 5’9 or taller. I’m 5’6, a size 16/18, and I carry most of my weight in my stomach. I’ve discussed this before on this blog or probably ranted about it on…
