Torrid’s Retro State of Mind

Torrid and I have been friends for a while now and I’ve noticed the trends come and go. One thing I’ve always loved about them is how they’ve always embraced the retro style. And all of the pieces above are perfect examples of that. I’m especially loving the dresses! Brands like Stop Staring and Queen of Heartz make chic pieces! Even the swimsuits are getting in on the action. Do you own any of their retro designs? Are you a retro kind of girl?

Vintage Curves: The Plus Side of ModCloth

Where are my vintage clothing lovers? If you’re here, then you already know about ModCloth right. They offer vintage/retro inspired clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, and stuff for your home. They even have a vintage shop, but stuff sells out fast!

I’ve known about them for a while, but was always bummed to find out that they didn’t offer plus sizes. Well, that’s certainly not the case anymore. I stumbled over there today researching a post for one of my other blogs and I was surprised at how many plus size pieces they offer. I found these items below in sizes 12-22 or XL-3X. You can check out their Fit and Form page here.

ModCloth.com

really has me drooling over a lot of these dresses! Like this Awards Show Stunner Dress in Red (right). Isn’t it gorgeous? But there’s only 2 left! So hurry!

My Closet: Lazy Sunday

It’s a great start to a lazy Sunday. I wanted to post this outfit before I got too comfy.

I bought this vintage top from Kori of Buxom Vintage for $8. You should def check her out, she specializes in plus size vintage. She was a vendor at the Curvy Revolution.

I’d love to turn this into some sort of crop top. But the embroidery around the neck, sleeves and trim is really unique. So, I’d hate to lose any of it. Should I just leave it the way it is?

The denim straight leg capri ($20) is courtesy of Just My Size. I couldn’t find them online, but I know they are a piece from their spring looks. There’s a little bit of stretch in the material, which makes them the perfect capri for my lazy day.

What do you wear on your lazy days?

*I was not paid for this post. Although, one item was gifted, the above is my true and honest opinion.

Fashion for the Curvy Pin-Up Girl!

Is it too late to change my fashion style? After seeing Bettie Page Clothing on the runway in Las Vegas, I want to dress up like a pin-up girl! The style is all about embracing your curves, not hiding them. Don’t you just love that?

No need worry about not being able to find these retro designs in plus sizes. I found a few below, along with two designers on Etsy who create custom pieces.

Vintage Fashion Rewind: Stripes

Fashion…you are amazing. There are so many reasons, but we don’t have all day now do we? No, we don’t. So, let me just say that I love the fact that certain prints and styles are still hot today as they were back then. Oh…do you need an example? How about the use of stripes? They’re definitely a year-round trend and have been since the beginning of fashion.

These fashion photos, featuring stripes, were found over at MyVintageVogue.com. They are dated from the 1940’s to the 1960’s. I love the classic and feminine touches. Gorgeous!

Vintage Curves: LA Vintage

I love checking out vintage fashion. But, will it fit me? LA Vintage to the rescue…they are pretty awesome! Just check out the pieces that caught my eye. They have an amazingly large collection in their “plus-size” department. The condition of the piece and measurements are listed to help you out. I also joined their forum, where you can discuss all things vintage, and I am now following their blog.
