Curvy Girl Travels: My Las Vegas Weekend at Mandalay Bay

Last weekend I was sent to Las Vegas for a blog gig. We rented a Ford Mustang and made the 4 hour drive from Los Angeles. The car actually did pretty good on gas. I was really surprised! We hit a few 112 degree spots in the desert…thank God for air conditioning. Oh…btw…tall people will not like sitting in the back seat. Not very roomy.

Anyways…back to Las Vegas. Now normally, I love this city. I mean…what is there not to like? It’s the city of having fun…literally 24 hours a day fun. But, I will say I’m not a fan of LV during the summer. It’s too flippin’ hot! In case you were wondering, 80 degrees is my max temperature. It was anywhere from 103-108 that weekend. Ugh!

“Curvy Girl Travels” is Back!

You all know I love fashion and beauty. And some of you might even know about my other passion…traveling. In fact, last year I introduced a new feature “Curvy Girl Travels.” It was a way to document and share my traveling adventures with you. OK…I only wrote two stories…but I really liked it! LOL!

Well…guess what? I’m bringing it back! With all of my recent traveling there’s so much I want to share with you! So, not only is this a fashion and beauty blog, but it’s a travel blog as well!

Curvy Girl Travels: The Opryland of Nashville

I’ve often found that there’s always a good reason to travel. Whether it’s for work or play, the idea of being able to discover new and interesting places has always made me the happiest curvy girl around.

I had the honor of being selected by Latinos in Social Media to attend BlissDom’11 a blogger conference inside The Opryland hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Being that I’d never been to Tennessee, I was excited to visit “one of the friendliest cities in the United States.” Which was proven to me the minute I stepped inside my taxi by the way.

Curvy Girl Travels: Ringing in 2011 by “The Bay”

I’ve always lived by the idea of how you ring in the new year will dictate what the upcoming year will be like for you. So, of course I make sure I’m traveling or with family and friends. This year I headed up to San Francisco with my hubby, little brother, cousins, and my best friends. I love that city and the whole “living by the bay” atmosphere. I am also a huge fan of the shopping in the downtown area. To die for! Can I just say the Macy’s in Union Square has the largest “Woman’s” department I’ve seen in a Macy’s! Definitely, check it out.
