I’m ready to make a confession. Please don’t judge me. I live in Los Angeles, one of the most amazing cities in the world. Instead of getting out there and exploring it, I’ve become somewhat of a hermit crab. I think there are tourists out there who’ve seen more of this city than I have. Ugh, no true Angeleno would be proud to admit that. That’s why I jumped at the chance to write this sponsored post in collaboration with the new Jagger app. I knew it was time to venture out of my apartment and reignite my love affair with the City of Angels. And this app is perfect for that!
Sometimes, we just need a romantic weekend. Whether it’s to rekindle the fire, start-up up a romance, celebrate a special occasion, or just because. I was invited out by the Hofsas House Hotel in Carmel, California to spend a complimentary weekend by the sea. Only a 5 1/2 hour drive north of Los Angeles, the hubby and I decided to take a break from our lives and the opportunity to explore the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea. We had such an amazing and relaxing time, just the two of us. It was so nice, that I wanted to share a few of my tips for a romantic weekend.
Where are road warriors at? Who loves a good summer road trip? I just got back from one myself. Made a trip from Los Angeles to Phoenix. It was so much fun! If you’re planning your own road trip this summer, you just might want to pick up the August 2014 issue of Latina Magazine. Flip on through to their “Traditions through Travel” feature where I share my own road trip tips on behalf of Toyota!
Can I just close my eyes and go back to Santa Barbara please? No offense guys, but I can see myself living the life in this beautiful city without a phone in my hand or a laptop in sight. Sadly, I was there for blogger duties only and didn’t get to enjoy it as I would have wanted to, but I did get to visit a few places courtesy of Lincoln Motor Company. And I did get to snap a few photos.
When I started writing Curvy Girl Travels, I wanted to share more than travel stories. I felt like if I could share an experience with you, it may inspire you to start your own journey. It’s funny, because I feel like this post may be my first time actually sharing more than a tourist review.
Yes…you read that right. I’m headed on an all expenses paid expedition, courtesy of the American Latino Heritage Fund! That means I’m going to experience the great outdoors. Yes…me in nature. I know what you’re thinking, but I’m always up for a challenge. That’s why my friends and I applied for this amazing opportunity. And you know I’m going to share this Curvy Girl Travels adventure!
There are just some travel boo boos we can’t anticipate. When I was at Target last week buying a bottle of Sally Hansen’s Quick Dry nail polish, little did I know it would inspire a Curvy Girl Travels post. I was so sick that week with sinus allergies that I didn’t have time to make sure my nails were all painted and ready to go for my blog conference. So, I packed a bottle of this polish that everyone brags about. I was dying to try it out.
There’s going to be a few days in April when you won’t hear a peep out of me. Yes, that is possible. That’s going to be the much needed weekend I spend with my BFF (Best Friend Forever…duh!). We’re sitting here trying to plan the weekend and all I want to do is make sure it’s perfect. Well…it doesn’t have to “perfect,” she is my best friend who loves me through all imperfections.
If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then you’ve probably noticed that I’ve done a bit of traveling over the past few weeks. And all I can think about is what I could use to make my trips a little bit easier and a lot more comfortable! That’s why I’ve compiled a little travel (kind of luxury) wish list…
This shoe lover has a little bit of a problem. As I’m getting older, it seems my feet can’t handle high heels anymore. I realized this on my last trip to Las Vegas. After two long days of walking around in the heat, the minute a heel was placed on my foot, I was ready to take them off. Like right then and there. We hadn’t even left the hotel room yet! LOL!
