What do you think about Roberto Cavalli’s plus size collection?
Maybe it’s the bright L.A. sun or the smell of spring in the air, but I have been craving white skinny jeans. It never fails, the trend of wearing white always pops up around this time.
Ashley Stewart has some really great white pieces to add to your closet. Being that it’s a basic color, there are so many combinations possible. And it’s an easy way to brighten up any outfit.
Something like this Off the Shoulder Smocked Blouse $29 (left) is definitely a versatile piece. It can be worn with jeans like the model, shorts, or capris.
I think adding something like a bright colored floral pin to a basic white top is so easy. I might have to get my hands on the white Cropped Denim Jacket $29 (below). I can see myself wearing it with a floral dress or tank dress and a cute pair of sandals.

Many of you have come to me asking what to wear to a job interview. I will say, it really depends on the job. For a corporate position, you might not want to mess around. You should dress as professional as possible- without losing your personal style. Unfortunately, many businesses do rely on their employees appearance. That means they might want you to look “put together” for their clients. Here’s a little something I whipped up.
Today, I attended a luncheon at the gorgeous Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. I always feel so classy when I enter that place. That’s why I decided to wear this amazing Asymmetrical Black Dress courtesy of Julia from Buxom Boutique. I paired it with my Madden Girl pumps, black tights, gold hoop earrings, and a gold statement ring.
The asymmetrical neck gives this “little black dress” an edge, but with a 1950’s sillouette. The knee length hem is breath of fresh air in today’s world of mini’s. I wear a size 16/18 in dresses and this dress is a 3X. I really think someone in a size 22 could wear this because of the stretch in the material. It actually matched a blazer I had in my closet, you know just in case I had to cover up at the luncheon.
What I love about this dress is how easy it can go from business to casual. You could wear it to work, then change a few pieces around for an event or night out. I changed my earrings, added a belt, and my silver jeweled sandals. I know I am going to get a lot of use out of this dress. Thanks Julia!

The denim curiosity started in Las Vegas. From the moment I saw model Fluvia Lacerda in a pair of City Chic jeans, I knew I had to try them out. She has amazing curves and these jeans hugged her in all the right places.
And since skinny jeans are all the rage, I wanted to do something a little different by picking the Lace Up Wide Leg Jean ($58). I think this my might be my new favorite cut.
I do have a high waist, so low rise jeans are not for me. For some reason, I thought these were higher waisted, but they actually sit a little bit below my belly button. That’s not ideal for my shape.
One of my favorite features is the dark wash of the jeans. This makes it so versatile and easy to dress up. Because of the stretch in the denim, these jeans are also very comfortable.
The length of the jean was perfect for my height (5’6), while wearing my new heels. But, I do warn that the hem will probably drag with a flat shoe. I haven’t had a chance to wash them yet, so I can tell you if they shrink or not. When I do, I’ll post that as an update here and on my Facebook page.
Take a look at the pics below. This is after wearing them all day, so they keep their shape. They didn’t start to sag, which a problem I normally have with jeans. Because of this one pair, I am very interested in trying another cut. Hmmm…skinny or bootcut?
Do you own a pair of City Chic jeans? Do you love or hate them?

We are officially one week into the spring season. Even though it doesn’t seem like it in some parts of the country. The weather has been crazy! It’s supposed to be in the 70’s this week here in L.A.
One of my favorite things about spring is being able to layer. Because the weather is still mild and with today’s unpredictable weather, you have to be ready. It’s always changing.
That’s why during this time of the year, you start seeing a lot of linen peices. A linen blazer is great to use over a tank top or a spring dress, because it’s a lighter material than the wool or heavy cotton pieces we were wearing. Not to mention it’s pretty comfy. This Lane Bryant Asymmetric linen jacket ($59.95) is so cute!
Last year, I found a great linen blazer while out thrifting. Yay me! They’re so easy to find at your local thrift store, if you don’t feel like spending a lot. If you want yours brand spanking new-I found you a few below.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited to see what designer brands they come up with!
I’m back after honoring the ‘For Japan with Love’ Blogger’s Day of Silence. On my day off I had a chance to go to the Fashion District in Downtown Los Angeles with my girl Ivory. FYI, she’s a fabulous fashionista and an awesome shopping partner.
We were in search of plus size fashion and believe me it wasn’t easy! We headed down to Santee Alley a.k.a. “The Alley.” It’s literally a 3 blog alley way of shopping. It’s mostly clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, and toys. But,you can pretty much find anything down there. It’s only a five minute drive from my house, I really need to go down there more often.
Let’s just say there was A LOT of walking. I did make a mini shopping haul video. You can go over to my YouTube channel and watch it. I even did a little review of my new favorite tee. The “I Love my Rolls” t-shirt by Feminine Funk.
It simply is not fair. Why does the ASOS Curve line continue to tempt me? Their clothes are right up my alley; simply chic.
And why don’t they just hurry up and open a store in Los Angeles already? I know I sound like a broken record, but I…I mean “We” need them out here.
Not only are they killing me with the pieces below, but the the colors are calling my name. Sigh…
Of all the current fashion trends, this is one I do not look forward to. I don’t care if it’s on straight or a plus size girl, I’m not a fan. The dreaded crop top is making a come back. I don’t know why, but I guess belly baring is not just for teens anymore.
This Abby Cropped V-Neck from Alloy is currently sold out. What does that tell us?
I’ve have seen some fashionistas wearing crop tops with short shorts on a few of the “street style” blogs, of course they are all skinny minnies. I haven’t seen any curvy girls wearing this daring trend.
Would you care if they did? I’m a true believer in being confident no matter what you wear.
So, I want to know what you think. Can curvy girls wear crop tops? Take the anonymous poll below.
