I don’t care that it’s hotter than *&%$#@^! outside, I can’t stop thinking about the upcoming holiday season! That means lots of parties and events. It’s time to start thinking about dresses! Instead of the basic LBD, why not try a LBLD? A Little Black Lace Dress. I just invented that by-the-way. Read more
This new 5 Questions features a beautiful plus-size model, Nicole Esperanza Zepeda. She’s such a sweetheart and I think you should get to know her a little. I saw her last in New York City representing on the runway at Full Figured Fashion Week. Read more
IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel has just released their pre-fall collection and it’s gorgeous! Inspired by exotic Indian design elements and sensuous ancient Greek draping, there are some great dresses I have my eye on. Modeled by my friend Denise Bidot, the “Voyage Exotique” collection hugs curves in all the right places. Read more
If you’re a fan of plus size designer fashion, then you must know about Navabi. They’ve kind of been around the web recently. They created this awesome video which was taped during Berlin Fashion Week. It features the beautiful and confident Mariesther Venegas strutting her stuff around Berlin…in the buff! Read more
We all know that trends come and go…some faster than others. Sometimes quicker than we’d like. So, while I have your attention, here are a few trends I’m loving right now!
Ooooohhhh…do I have something special for you ladies! It’s a VIP SNEAK PEEK into Carmakoma’s AW 2012 collection!! If you’re anything like me and you love a classic clean look with an edgy and sexy twist, then this collection is for you. I’m DYING over the leather leggings! Seriously HOT! OK, you know I love something if I’m using all caps over here.
Carmakoma is a Danish label if you’re wondering, yes all the way from Copenhagen. I especially love them because they’re using my good friend Fluvia Lacerda in their recent campaigns.
“Carmakoma women are strong, independent individuals denying to be subject to the opinions of others. They are not afraid of experimenting with their personal form of expression, but are open to change and always heading towards new experiences – determined to control their own destiny.” -Carmakoma.com
This collection rocks with these amazing wrap skirts, polka dots and stripes, bold pieces, graphic prints, flowy pieces, and the leather leggings…oh the leather leggings! They also have outerwear and menswear-inspired pieces. I can see myself wearing pretty much everything here.
This collection should be available online and in-store in August and their sizes range from U.S. 12-24.
I want to know what you think!
Will Carmakoma be on your shopping wish list?

Blame it on me not feeling well or the fact that I waited until the last minute, but I am “fashion frustrated” at the moment. I can not seem to find anything to wear for Full Figured Fashion Week. I know I still have about 4 days left to shop, but come on! And with my back hurting the way it has, I can’t leave my house and the hubby hates to shop, so I’ve been stuck searching online.
And don’t even get me started on what I’m going to wear to the “All White Sunset Cruise.” Do you know how hard it is to find something that every other girl isn’t going to be wearing on that boat. LOL! I guess that’s the source of my frustration. Our lack of variety and availability. Last year, I saw so many lovely ladies in the same dress! That’s already happened to me once.
Why do straight sizes have all the fun? They have millions of options. Especially in the white dress department.
Let’s go curvy fashion designers…I need more options and white dresses! LOL! I’m a demanding blogger!
On a serious note…I know I’m just being a whiner and I know I’m so amazingly lucky to be headed to NYC, one of my favorite places on this planet. But, I’m allowed to whine and complain every once in a while. So there!
Are you headed to FFFWeek? Do you have your outfits planned?
The minute I was asked to review a dress from IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel I immediately said yes! I’m a big fan of her designs and was very interested in seeing how her clothes fit. I chose the Diana Infinity Dress in Multi ($165) because of the cool python-like print. And I’m all for a piece of clothing that gives you different options.
I decided to wear it to the opening night reception of my blogger retreat and a lot of my friends loved it! I chose to wear it as a one-sleeved dress. I’m wearing the size 14/16 here and it fit comfortably (I wear a size 16/18 and I’m 5’6). I can see it fitting different body types. The material is light and it comes with a shorter rayon slip to wear underneath. And I had it packed in my suitcase for a while it never once wrinkled! I’m looking forward to wearing it in the other styles and I know I’ll be able to wear it casually too. I’ve definitely become an IGIGI fan!

Here are a few photos from the morning of my Mary Kay makeover in Washington D.C.
Pennington’s, the Canadian retailer, has just published their summer look book and I’m looooving it. The colors are amazing, aren’t they? Yes, they do ship to the U.S.! I wouldn’t do that too you!! I’m not going to lie, I have my eye on a few things (when don’t I?), but I’m really interested in trying their intimates. I love the prints and colors. I do have a coat from them and it’s great! Let’s see what else I fall in love with!
Are you a Pennington’s customer? What do you love most about them?
As you can tell I’m in an animal print kind of mood, makes me feel a little feisty! Saturday night we were invited out for a birthday dinner in Downtown L.A. and I couldn’t throw this dress on fast enough. The Natural Leopard Surplice Chalice dress (courtesy of Torrid) was a perfect pick for our night out. It’s a great alternative for the normal jeans and top combo. It fit me really well, but as you can tell I did have to put a tank underneath so I didn’t show all the goods. I don’t think the hubby would of liked that. LOL! I really liked the length and how it hit right at the top of the knee. I’m 5’6, a size 16, and this dress is a Torrid’s size 1. And like always, I kept the styling simple, because it’s a bolder print. How would you have worn this dress?
