Las Vegas is one hot city…like really hot. And when I know I’m traveling to a city with warmer weather, I always make sure to pack a maxi dress. They’re easy to pack and easy to dress up and down. Very versatile. And thanks to Torrid, I was able to take this Blue and White Mitered Striped Maxi ($54.50) dress with me to Sin City. Read more
No I didn’t “win it big” in Las Vegas. I know that’s always the first question you’re asked when you go to Sin City. In fact, I think I spent $1 gambling. I’m not even kidding! LOL! I never win, so why continue to give them my money? I did have a chance dress up a bit. Read more
Imagine walking outside and feeling like you just walked into an oven. Yeah, that was pretty much my weekend in San Antonio. O.K…I may be exaggerating a tiny bit. Let’s just say it was hot and I didn’t want to fuss with my outfits. And that’s why I kept my look casual, but wanted to add some much needed color in my life. Read more
It seems like we’re not going to get a break from this summer heat wave! Seriously people, it’s hot! And when it’s hot like this, I wish I could run around naked, buuuuut I won’t. I will try to wear something light and cool though. This is exactly what I tried to do with yesterday’s outfit. Read more

The minute I saw this high waisted JIBRI skirt, I knew I had to have it! I think it’s probably the boldest piece of clothing I own. I love it and I feel amazingly sassy in it. I wore it during the finale night of Full Figure Fashion Week.
Now, if the skirt looks a little big, it’s because it is. I actually had it taken out at the waist and I think the measurements got a little mixed up, because when I tried it on, it was too big. With the help of the wonderful Elann Zelie, we pinned the inside, but it was still a little big. But, that’s OK, cause I felt amazing in it! The construction of the skirt is impeccable, but you already knew that. I paired it with a tank I picked up at Nordstrom and a pair of teal suede t-strap platforms from Steve Madden. I was really happy with the entire look!
I still can’t believe Full Figured Fashion Week is over…I’m going to start counting down the days until the next one! And I’m STILL posting photos! Unfortunately, I can’t post them all on this blog, so you can find them here on the Curves and Chaos Facebook fan page.
I did want to share what I wore on the night of the Indie Designer Showcase. Lovedrobe sent me this amazing dress by their new sister brand Koko by Koko. The White Patterned Grecian Dress (£38.00 at New Look), was glorious! It was definitely made for a woman with curves and I was in awe of the draping.I’m so impressed with the fit! You can dress this up or down for day or night. It’s so colorful! I wore my new Aldo suede wedges with it.
I just wanted to share a quick outfit post of what I wore to Sonsi’s “Be-YOU-tiful” Pop-Up Party. I wore this fun poncho top from H&M, pencil skirt from Forever 21 Plus Sizes, Sandals by Steve Madden, and necklace is also from Forever 21. I’m all about pencil skirts right now too!
You’ll probably see me wearing these sandals a lot! The leather is super soft and they were pretty comfy. And this is a better picture of my newly cropped hair! What do you think? I kind of want to add my bangs back…yes or no?
You’ll have to excuse these photos, LOL! I took these bad boys at the end of the night. I was tired and my clothes were a little wrinkled. Anyways…as you may or may have not known…I was having a very hard time finding my “all white” outfit for the “Curves at Sea” cruise. I was trying to find something that no one else would be wearing. It was so hard! As plus size girls…and as most of you will agree…we don’t have as many fashion options.
I wanted to wear something comfortable, I learned my lesson from last year. Monique in a dress and heels on a rocky boat…no bueno.
At the last minute, I found this fun BCBG Max Azria tank with attached necklace at Nordstrom Rack and the cropped white skinnies are from Target. My shoes (that I adore) are from Aldo. The best part is, no one was wearing my outfit! Mission accomplished.
And YES as you can see…I chopped my hair off! 12-inches!! It’s so nice and refreshing for summer! What do you think?
Disclosure: I was an official member of the 2012 Full Figured Fashion Week’s Fashion Front. I received a gift bag and complimentary access in to all events.
Hello my loves! I hope you’re having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I wanted to take a second to share something with you. As some of you might know, I was selected as one of 70 top Latina bloggers to attend a conference in Washington D.C. A big thank you to Latinos in Social Media for this amazing opportunity. While I was there, I was given a makeover by Mary Kay. We took photos all over the city. When I get those photos, I will definitely share them with you. Super excited to see them!
We also had a chance to attend a special briefing at The White House! I think this may have been the first time a large group of bloggers were extended an exclusive invite to talk about topics that affect our community. It was very surreal.
I didn’t get to take many photos of myself that day, I was too busy being a photographer! LOL! I did have someone snap a few pics of me in my outfit. I wore this black dress I was gifted last year from Julia of Buxom Chick, a black IGIGI cardigan, and Bandolino pumps. I didn’t know what to wear, this was kind of a last minute outfit. I was trying to be as conservative as possible! LOL!
The minute I was asked to review a dress from IGIGI by Yuliya Raquel I immediately said yes! I’m a big fan of her designs and was very interested in seeing how her clothes fit. I chose the Diana Infinity Dress in Multi ($165) because of the cool python-like print. And I’m all for a piece of clothing that gives you different options.
I decided to wear it to the opening night reception of my blogger retreat and a lot of my friends loved it! I chose to wear it as a one-sleeved dress. I’m wearing the size 14/16 here and it fit comfortably (I wear a size 16/18 and I’m 5’6). I can see it fitting different body types. The material is light and it comes with a shorter rayon slip to wear underneath. And I had it packed in my suitcase for a while it never once wrinkled! I’m looking forward to wearing it in the other styles and I know I’ll be able to wear it casually too. I’ve definitely become an IGIGI fan!
Starting Friday, May 25, 2012 12:00 PM/PST until Tuesday, May 29, 2012 12:00 PM/PST you can get 30%OFF select category products using code “MEMORIAL2012″ visit http://www.igigi.com/memorial-day-sale
Are you an IGIGI fan? What do you love about her designs?
Here are a few photos from the morning of my Mary Kay makeover in Washington D.C.
There’s one great thing about a basic denim top, you can wear it a lot of different ways. Seriously, Google “how to wear a denim shirt.” You’ll find tons of examples. And I hope to be able to show you a few myself. For this post, I decided on a really casual and relaxed look. One that can be dressed up a little with shoes and accessories.
I’m wearing Lands End’s long sleeve denim shirt ($45). With a black camisole and black skinny jeans. Very basic. The shirt is not tapered as much as I would like it to be, but I can probably get it altered for my future outfits. I decided on this bronze tribal necklace from Forever 21 and my shoes are BCBGeneration (older). I’m already trying to think of how I’ll wear this shirt next.
What’s your favorite way to wear a denim shirt?
