I’ll admit that swimsuit shopping isn’t normally one of my favorite things to do. I know I’m not alone either. But, don’t worry my loves it’s not as bad as we once thought it was. I’m super determined to conquer it! I headed over to Target to check out the new AVA & VIV swimwear collection and to find a few spring break worthy pieces.
When I first started this blog in 2008, I remember searching online for plus size brands to feature or shop from. That’s when I found Maurices, a fashion retailer specializing in women’s fashion in a range of sizes. Back then, they had a very small plus size collection. Today, they offer so many more options, including activewear and swimwear. They recently invited me to attend a spring event they were hosting in Downtown L.A., of course I had to go!
It’s no secret that I love to travel. Just check out my #CurvyGirlTravels hash tag on Instagram or Twitter and see where I’ve been. I’m always at some blogger event. For example, next week, is the inaugural We All Grow Summit and I’m so honored to be speaking on a panel. But, there will be no traveling for me! Because it’s based here in Los Angeles! The lovely ladies over #WeAllGrow asked me to put together some tips on packing for The City of Angels.
A few month’s ago, I found this really fun Jonathan Adler pouch. The minute I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. I bought it and then I kind of forgot all about it. It basically got lost in the abyss that is my room. Then, as if it was meant to be, it turned up—a week before Valentine’s Day. I knew I had to take it out to play before the official day of love.
Curves and Chaos is officially 5 (insert confetti, champagne, and balloons here)! 2010 seems just like yesterday. Doesn’t it? I want to say time flies when you’re having fun, but I don’t think that phrase will work here. This Curves and Chaos journey has been so much more than “fun.” If you would’ve told me then, what I know today—I would have never believed you.
We all know I’m not the boldest one in the room. But, that’s definitely something I’m working on. And I couldn’t do it with a little help from my friends. It’s a good idea to have some amazing supporters on your side, who are well-versed in creating their own personal style. So, when I have an event to attend, need last-minute styling advice, and am considering mixing prints—who did I call?
It’s no secret that L.A. doesn’t really have crisp fall days or chilly winters. That’s why I can get away with dressing like this in the middle of December. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not really complaining…OK maybe just a little bit. I’m that girl who loves cold winter days. But, I also love being able to wear long kimonos with short dresses and ankle boots. Living Doll Los Angeles sent me their Breezy Kimono (sold out), which I was drooling over since the moment I laid eyes on it.
