Love is in the Air

A few months ago, when I attended the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Super Saturday event, I was really happy to see that Rachel Pally was there supporting the cause. I was even more excited when I saw that she was selling pieces from her White Label Collection—Rachel Pally plus size line. I was immediately drawn to this dress. I thought, “this would be perfect for an outdoor wedding.” And I was right, this dress was perfect for my sister-in-laws beach-themed wedding.  Read more

Life Changer (OOTD)

Have you ever had one of those days you were unsure of? One where you didn’t know how it was going to end. You hope for a just a good day, but by the time you lay down to go to sleep you realize it was life altering. That was the kind of day I had yesterday. It all started with a Latina Brunch at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Annual Conference. I was invited as a Toyota Latino Ambassador. The brunch, which included Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, was beyond inspiring, motivating, and all of the above. Read more

There are perks to this blogger life. Like meeting amazing people, who turn into awesome friends. It doesn’t happen all of the time, but when it does—it’s golden. Elann Zelie is one of those awesome friends. I’ve written about her line Zelie for She before. You know I love her style and passion for creating fashion. And yes, she is passionate about it! She gifted me a piece from her latest collection and I wore it proud. In fact, I can’t wait to wear it again. Read more

Curvy Girl Travels: Santa Barbara

Can I just close my eyes and go back to Santa Barbara please? No offense guys, but I can see myself living the life in this beautiful city without a phone in my hand or a laptop in sight. Sadly, I was there for blogger duties only and didn’t get to enjoy it as I would have wanted to, but I did get to visit a few places courtesy of Lincoln Motor Company. And I did get to snap a few photos. Read more

Why Choosing the Right Bra is Important

This is a sponsored post in collaboration with JMS. Any opinions expressed in this post are true and my own.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. My personal style has and always will be about comfort. That’s just who I am. I know there are people out there who suffer in silence (or not) to wear today’s hottest fashion trends. Not me! I’m all about being comfortable, while still wearing what I love—even right down to the bra. Yes, choosing the right bra is important and a must-have in my book. Read more

Sunday’s Best (OOTD)

Ever since I was a little girl, choosing a dress to wear on Easter Sunday was kind of a big deal. Whether it was frilly and floral or simply chic, my mom always set aside some money for a my dress. Now, that I’m all grown up, I still make sure I have something special to wear on this day. This year, I set aside a dress that Lane Bryant sent me from their Lane Collection. Read more

Island Style in City Chic Resort (OOTD)

Can I just live on an island forever? Please? OK maybe just on the beach? Before I get too deep into dreams of taking naps on hammocks and enjoying slushy drinks, I’ll take the time to gush about City Chic sending me a few pieces from their Resort Collection. I mentioned I was headed to the Dominican Republic and they wanted me to live in that true island style. Read more

Living in City Chic Body Shape Denim (OOTD)

Would you believe me if I told you that I’ve been dreaming of a pair of high-waisted denim? Well…I have. I know it’s kind of weird, but I practically live in denim. Day in and out. But, I’ve always struggled with the low rise factor. It’s so annoying. Then one day City Chic sent me a pair. Read more

Floral Dress Flashback (OOTD)

Guess who cleaned out and rearranged her closet? Me! And while I was in there, I ran across this floral number from 2011! Now, let me be clear. I don’t normally wear short dresses. It’s just a personal preference. I will rarely wear anything above the knee. But, hey…why not change things up with a flirty floral dress? Read more
