OOTD: Super Print Super Bowl

Oh yeah…yesterday was the Super Bowl. It matters if you’re team was playing. Mine wasn’t…blah. Don’t get me started. Next year my Denver Broncos will dominate…just you wait. Anyways…if I didn’t already lose you, this is what I decided to wear for this eventful Sunday.

We spent the day at the in-laws eating way too much. I knew this was going to happen, so I wanted to be super comfy. That’s where this printed Rachel Pally top came in (no longer available). I bought this at my second warehouse sale and it’s so comfy. It can also be worn as a tunic with leggings and it’s from the straight size collection. I was instantly in love with the colors and print. My jeans are from Levi’s Curve ID line. I’m a “Demi Curve” by-the-way. They are probably my favorite pair of jeans. They just fit me. Period.

I snagged up these sandals on Hautelook, from Nine West’s line Boutique 9. Got them for an amazing deal! Love amazing deals…just like these $1 earrings I got in downtown. Yay me!

What did you wear on Super Bowl Sunday?

OOTD: Living Grey in L.A.

Wow what a day…I spent the entire afternoon in Downtown L.A. learning about the art, music, and history of Los Angeles. I kind of felt like a tourist in my own city. It was an amazingly beautiful day. The top is by Inspired and my boots are Dollhouse. I’m wearing Torrid’s Sophia Blue Rinsed Skinny Jeans. They fit perfectly and I love that the waist is the right cut. I’m definitely not a low cut kind of girl. Do you prefer a certain cut over the other?

OOTD: Out with the Girls

I had an opportunity to hang out with some of my girls this weekend. After a long day, I didn’t want to wear anything too complicated, but I didn’t want to wear sweats out either. I decided to go with this beautiful Blue Crepe Lattice Cold-Shoulder from Torrid. I even threw my hair up in a high bun.

I love the top, but after looking at these images, I feel like I should’ve chosen a smaller size. It’s supposed to have a flowy fit, but I think it’s a little too much for my shape. Now, this is something I’ve only recently noticed. I tend to buy clothes that are a little too big for me. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, maybe my perception of myself is skewed. I’m in-between sizes, so if I go down a size it might be a little tighter, but if I go up a size it’s a little big. I always end up going bigger. That needs to change.

Regardless, it’s extremely comfy and the color pops. Loving this blue right now and the shoulders are so sexy! If you also notice, I should have paired this with more form fitting denim. It’s crazy because it looked fine in the mirror, but the images are bugging me. LOL!

Whatever…there’s nothing like a well-deserved lesson in fashion. Earrings are from Target, bracelets are from Lane Bryant, shoes are Steve Madden, and denim is from Torrid.

OOTD: A Night with Salt-N-Pepa

When I was in elementary school, I was in cheerleading and we put together a dance routine to “Push It” by Salt-N-Pepa. So innapropriate, I know! LOL! I’ve loved them ever since. Last night, I had the opportunity to attend a launch party for McDonald’s new Chicken McBites and guess who was performing? Yes!! Salt-N-Pepa!! I was too excited!!

I didn’t know what to wear, then I remembered I had this jumpsuit from Torrid in my closet (not available). I threw on these heavy earrings from Forever21, ring from Torrid, and clutch from Dama Handbags. It was an awesome night. I even recorded a performance of “What a Man.” It’s at the end of the post. Are you a Salt-N-Pepa fan?

OOTD: Casually Denim

I can always count on my good friend Ivory for inspiration. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her blog (www.IvoryJinelle.blogspot.com) you’re missing out. She’s fashionably fearless. Love her…if you read my blog then you know I mention her a lot. Yesterday, I saw her wearing a denim jacket and it reminded me of the one I had sitting in my closet.  I picked this one up at Forever 21 months ago and haven’t had a chance to wear it. And since it was a gloomy day here in L.A. I wanted to wear something comfy and casual. I’m wearing a H&M tunic underneath with my Sejour leggings and Dollhouse boots. The scarf is an oldie from Gap. It was a great outfit for spending time with the family and watching football.

OOTD: The Grace Dress

The minute I laid eyes on the Queen Grace Collection sketches, almost 8 months ago, I knew it was something special. Then I had the pleasure of meeting the amazing woman behind the brand in New York City during Full Figure Fashion Week. Marina is such a genuine person. She’s amazingly sweet too!

I told her I loved the “Grace” dress! It’s that edgy LBD I’ve always needed. My eyes lit up when I saw her designs come down the Full Figure Fashion Week runway. A few weeks later, she sent me the “Grace” dress…my fashion dream come true. The dress comes in two different trims-synthetic leather and satin. I wore the satin-trimmed design at the L’Oreal Paris 40th Anniversary cocktail party in Beverly Hills.

This was one of those “fits like a glove,” I even had the hubby help get me into it. LOL! It was the perfect dress for this night.

Thanks Marina! xoxo

OOTD: L’Oreal Paris Beauty Suite

This past weekend was a very L’Oreal Paris kind of weekend and I loved it. I wrote a recap about my Friday beauty experience here–> Getting Red Carpet Ready with L’Oreal Paris, it includes an awesome giveaway! I just wanted to post a few pics of my outfit. It was a very simple outfit with a pop of coral. I found this silk top while thrifting with my mom, it’s Lane Bryant. My jeans are Torrid and shoes are Steve Madden. It was such a great afternoon, can’t you tell by the smile on my face? LOL!

OOTD: Celebrating with The Curvy Fashionista

Hello my loves!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I did! I was invited to celebrate the 3-year Blogaversary of The Curvy Fashionista, here in Los Angeles. Marie is a good friend of mine, so I was more than happy to support her. Besides, it was an awesome party! It was filled with not only bloggers, but family, friends, models, designers, celebs, and fans. It was also a great way to meet up with a lot of my friends. Unfortunately, I don’t have any photos of the night, but I did snap a photo of my outfit. And if you follow me on Twitter, then you know there was someone at the party wearing the same dress I was! That has never happened to me before, so I was a little thrown off at first. But, I got over it (after a while LOL) and had an amazing time. I even snapped a pic with her, which I’ll post on my Facebook once I get it.

Feeling Ferocious! Grrrrrr...
Feeling Ferocious! Grrrrrr...

I’m wearing the Retro Chic by Torrid, Leopard One Shoulder Dress. The minute I saw the beautiful Denise Bidot modeling it on the Torrid web site, I knew I had to have it. Normally, I’d shy away from a dress like this, but I’m not going to fear fashion anymore. This dress fit like a glove and really hugged my curves. I felt so sassy and sexy in it! And I’m a big fan of the ruched sides. My shoes are my “oldie but goodie” Jessica Simpson patent leather peep toe platforms. It was a great dress for a great night! Congrats again Marie and may you celebrate many many years of blogging!

OOTD: Ringing it in Blue + Giveaway

Happy New Year my loves!

How has 2012 been treating you so far? I hope great! And I hope you had a safe and happy New Year’s Eve. The hubby and I rang in the new year with our family. We went over to my mother-in-law’s house and ate, watched the ball drop in New York City, and ate our 12 grapes (for good luck). My friend even came over to hang out, which was awesome!

I knew it was going to be a comfy night, so I decided to wear this sweater dress my mom bought me a couple of Christmases ago, leggings, Lane Bryant jewelry and my new favorite Steve Madden platforms. I swear you’re going to see these shoes a lot!

Christmas Eve Sparkles

OK…you’re probably sick of me and sequins by now! LOL!! But, to be honest, I’m not. I could probably wear them every day. It’s a sequin addiction!!

Maybe it’s just the holidays and maybe it will pass after the new year. We’ll have to wait and see. Until then, this is the outfit I wore on Christmas Eve.

Pennington’s sent me their Allover Sequin Tee and I love it. The only issue I have with it , would have to be my hair getting caught in the sequins on the backside of the tee. But, that’s the only thing. lt’s very comfortable and has the perfect length sleeves. The sequins don’t poke or bother at all. I wore it with my Torrid jeans.

I do have to tell you about a new pair of shoes I bought. The Steve Madden PUMMP is my new “go to” black platform. I LOVE this shoe! Seriously, it’s probably the highest heel I own at 4.75 inches, but they’re pretty comfortable. I think it’s the chunky heel that adds the comfort. I’ve been eyeing them for a while and I’m sooooo happy I grabbed them. I found them at Nordstrom Rack for half of what Steve Madden is selling them for! I know I’ll be wearing them a lot…like a lot!

What did you wear on Christmas Eve?

Disclosure: The Pennington’s top was gifted. The above is my true and honest opinion.

Torrid and my Sequin Obsession

Will the obsession ever end? Really? Yes, more sequins and lots of sparkle. I wore this outfit for my dad’s 60th birthday party and I felt sassy. LOL! I did!

Torrid’s Black Mesh Sequin Front Tank Top immediately caught my eye and I had to have it. The front is sheer, but adorned with sequins and beading. I love this top! I will admit this is my second time wearing it. I wore it to the Jay-Z and Kanye concert.

I’m also wearing Torrid’s Boom Boom Jeans. These stretch trousers are an internet exclusive. They’re comfy and have a little stretch to them. I ordered my size and these felt a little big. I would definitely order one size down and be careful with closure on the waist. It’s just a little button and I think it needs a little reinforcement. Besides that, I know I’ll be wearing these a lot. And the sequin obsession continues…

Do you love sequins too?

Disclosure: Torrid provided these clothes for reviewing purposes. I was NOT compensated for this post. The above is my true and honest opinion.

Adding some Sparkle to My Night

Finally an outfit post! I know I’ve been slacking when it comes to these. Sorry my loves!

Last week I was invited to a holiday event at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.

I was clueless as to what I was going to wear. This is totally a last minute outfit. There wasn’t a dress code or anything, so I figured I’d go with a casual look but with some much needed sparkle.

I’ve had this beautiful Nordstrom Sejour sequin blazer for a while now and haven’t had a chance to wear it. Like a dummy, I kind of lost in the back of my closet.

I paired it with a basic black camisole underneath, Torrid Denim Curvy Skinny Jean,Torrid Black Patent Leather Heel . Forever 21 necklace, various bracelets, and a thrifted clutch.

It’s such a comfortable piece and I can’t wait to wear it again. I’m already thinking of the different ways I can style this blazer.

I’m curious as to how you’d style this sequin blazer.
