I guess this HOT weekend was one with a lot of firsts. For example, I haven’t worn a floral romper since I was kid. I was really surprised when Torrid sent me their Floral Ruffle Tube Romper ($48.50). I don’t even think I would of purchased this for myself.
Doesn’t it kind of look like a dress? I was happy there were no malfunctions while wearing it. And you have no idea how happy I was knowing that there were pockets. It was roomy and pretty comfy, but after wearing it all day the elastic in the tube top kind of starting irritating me. There is also an elastic waist, which gives it shape. I threw on this skinny braided belt, my You by crocs wedges, gold hoop earrings and bangle bracelets, and my Forever 21 sunglasses. It was sooooo hot on this day and this jumper kept me nice and cool!

Don’t mind the glare in my eyes, I was running out the door to an event. I did make sure to snap a photo of some pieces Torrid had sent me. Yes, I did get the package that day. Thank goodness, because I didn’t know what I was going to wear. And since this was a casual L.A. happy hour, I thought this would be perfect.
I’m wearing Torrid’s Feather Print Tube Top and Source of Wisdom Black Luxe Skinny Jean. The top is really light and has a little cinching under the bust, which I liked because it gave me some shape. I think the best thing was the fact that it didn’t fall down every second like some tube tops do. Now, the skinny jean is really soft and you know I love a stretchy jean. They aren’t heavy and thick like normal denim, which I appreciated, because it was pretty warm.
I kept the accessories simple with Bongo earrings from Kmart, bracelets bought at a yard sale, and a ring I got in Downtown L.A. for $1! My shoes are by Jefferey Campbell (Nordstrom Rack), I love the back of the heel. For some reason it makes me feel fierce!

WOW, I can’t believe Full Figured Fashion Week is finally over. It’s such a bittersweet feeling. The events I attended were amazing and a step in the right direction for the plus size community.
I’ve never seen such support and love for us fashion loving curvy women.
Here are some images from the White on White Sunset Cruise that was held on Thursday night. What do you get when you invite a bunch of curvy girls wearing white on a boat? Fabulousness of course…and a lot of dancing.
Everyone looked great and proved that there are no rules in fashion! Who said we can’t or shouldn’t wear white? We proved them wrong…once again. Thanks for an unforgettable night Gwen and staff!!
I’m wearing a maxi dress from New York & Company, Jessica Simpson peep toe sling backs, an Aldo cross body bag and necklace, and bracelets from Avenue.
If you happen to see any words misspelled or words just left out of the sentence, it’s probably because I’m so exhausted. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good kind of exhausted!
I’m so grateful to be here in New York City for Full Figured Fashion Week. It’s such an amazing feeling to be surrounded by all of these people who care about the plus community and fashion industry.
Tonight was the first of events, the Media and Buyer’s Reception. It was held at the Sky Bar. It was such a beautiful day and that rooftop bar was packed! I met so many amazing designers and models. And reconnected with those whom I already know.
The outfit I wore tonight was courtesy of Lane Bryant. I wore the Curved Hem Dress by Seven7 , the Sequin Embellished Paisley Scarf in blue, and 9 Piece Bone Bangle Set. This dress is so amazingly comfortable and it’s pretty much made for any body type.
Here are a few pics. I loved all of the designs, especially the Queen Grace Collection and the Margaux Kouture dresses. I can’t wait for tomorrow! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter @CurvesandChaos for day 2 of Full Figured Fashion Week!

I’m really not sad. LOL. I’m just loving this blue top! I bought this at a yard sale that was held by Stylist Reah Norman. Thanks Reah! It’s by Daniel Rainn and it has these amazing ruffles and pockets. You know how I feel about pockets. I wore it to a high school graduation last night. Which had a whopping 680 graduates by the way and it was in a sports arena! WOW.
Back to the outfit…I went simple with my jewelery, only because the color was so bold. My earrings are these cute little rhinestone bows I bought at Torrid and my bracelets are from Lane Bryant. My shoes are from the Kenneth Cole outlet. These suede wedges have a cool magenta stripe on the heel. The belt is from another top and I had to wear it because the top was a little big and I wanted to add some shape. I really liked this look, I’m guessing it was the color. It made me feel a little sassy! LOL
What did you wear during the Memorial Day weekend?
If you you had weather like us in Los Angeles, then you’d probably wear something similar to my outfit-a flowy dress and sandals. It’s kind of the perfect combo for a beautiful day.
We hosted a small barbecue at my apartment and I wanted to wear something chic. I made sure to wear this Golden Paisley Dress that Midnight Velvet sent me.
This dress is so feminine with it’s golden paisley design, beads, and sequins. I know you can’t see them (sorry), but there are adjustable spaghetti straps under my hair. Which I loved! There is a side zipper, but I didn’t even need to unzip it. The dress just slid over my head for a perfect fit. The empire waist is my favorite part to this dress. It’s so beautiful. Of course I paired it with my Avenue bangle bracelets and these gladiator wedges (for comfort value, because I was going to be cooking).
I must warn you to be careful with the beads on the chest part of the dress. I was brushing my hair and the comb knocked off a few beads.
The minute I saw City Chic’s Pretty Frilly Chiffon Dress I knew it was destined to be mine. This is what I wore on Mother’s Day. I was a little surprised when I got the dress, because it looks white on their web site, it’s actually an ivory color. It fit great and it was really comfortable. The ruffles on the chest are so cute! I did change the patent leather belt out. I wore this Betsey Johnson belt instead. This photo was taken at the end of the day. I didn’t realize how white my legs are, I need a tan. I hope I didn’t blind you. LOL.

This may surprise you, but I used to hate wearing bright colors. OK, you might have heard me say that before. But, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m still on the fence about bright colors, but one of my shopping partners in crime is slowly getting me out of my “dark clothes comfort zone.” On a side note…I just went back and took a look at my old outfit post and I wore a lot of grey and black! Today, you are my witness as I vow to start wearing more color!! Yes, you heard it here first.
Thanks to WomanWithin.com for this Modern Fit Cardigan Sweater in pretty peach. I’ve had it in my closet for a few weeks; and because of L.A.’s recent cool weather I decided to wear it. The thing I love most about cardigans like this is that they never go out of style and can be worn so many ways. I know this is a very casual outfit, but I wanted to be comfy. So, I wore a basic Old Navy tank underneath, my City Chic jeans, Forever 21 jewelery, and these pewter gladiator sandals from Avenue. I know they look a little strange, but that’s what I love about them. I’m slowly coming out of my comfort zone, one bright color at a time.
Do you ever have those days where just don’t want to get out of bed and get dressed? That was me on Saturday. It’s been a little gloomy here in L.A., maybe that’s why.
Good thing I got my butt out of bed, I was invited to the P&G Orgullosa de mi Belleza (Proud of my Beauty) event at the Sunset Tower Hotel. It was such a great afternoon of pampering.
I got my hair and make up done with Pantene and CoverGirl products. Then I had a hand massage with Oil of Olay body lotion and a neck massage. I was in heaven.
I also had a chance to meet Celebrity Makeup Artist Rebecca Restrepo. She gave me some tips on how to create a cat eye, without struggling (LOL). We even walked out with a gift bag full of P&G goodies!
The outfit I wore was just thrown together at the last minute. The cardigan is from H&M, the navy top is from Macy’s, jeans are Levi’s Curve I.D. straight leg from HSN, my shoes are Kensie’s, my jewelery is from Lane Bryant, and the handbag is courtesy of Shoedazzle.com.
Disclaimer: Entry to the event was free along with the products. The above is my true and honest opinion.
I’ve already told you I’m obsessed with maxi dresses this season. And this one from City Chic is no exception. I wore this at the opening of the About Face exhibit and I never felt more sexy. Seriously, it’s a va-va-voom dress in the chest area. Meaning, it showed a lot of cleavage. LOL. The dress is no longer available on CityChicOnline.com. Sorry, but there are tons of other pretty dresses. I paired it with gold earrings, a black cascading cardigan, Nine West open-toed pumps, and my new fave Melie Bianco clutch. I wore the dress again on my birthday and I can’t wait to wear it again.
