Sponsored by JCPenney Mom…if you’re reading this post, please stop right now. I know you’re probably still reading this, so I’m going to do my best to make sure you’ll be surprised when you open your gifts on Christmas. True story guys…I have been asking my mom to send me a list of the things she might want or need and to this day she refuses to send one over. She just replies…”surprise me.” So, that’s basically what I had to do. I ran over to JCPenney bright and early this morning to do some last-minute shopping for my mom.…
It’s no surprise that I love to dress as comfy as possible. Even when the holidays roll around I make sure that my festive outfits always reflect my personal style—which is pretty much comfy casual. I’ll even take my sequined pieces there if it calls for it. Like I did with this latest outfit from Lane Bryant, that I will probably wear on Christmas Eve with the family. I appreciate the fact that sequins come in all shapes and forms. And I am a sucker for a quality sequined jacket or blazer. I see them as statement pieces that will…

As much as I love wearing sequins during the holiday’s, sometimes I like to mix things up and try something a little different. If you’re all about an unconventional holiday look, but still want that drama, then I think the Lavish Alice Floaty Sleeve Playsuit from Simply Be might be your thing. It’s the ultimate party romper in one of my favorite colors and it has serious boho vibes! I saw this online and instantly had to have it. I loved it so much, that I forgot one little thing about me and the rompers. Because I have a bigger-than-average-sized chest,…
What would the holidays be without a little sparkle…or a lot of sparkle? I know a lot of you think sequins can be cliche around this time of year—but who cares? It’s time to get festive people! I am obsessed with them (in my own way). And now is the time to sparkle guys! Lane Bryant knows my obsession all too well and sent over their Sequin Dress with Chiffon. I see it as more of an elegant way to do sequins this holiday season. The first thing that caught my eye about this dress was the dark gray color. Most people…

There I was in the store’s toy section. Walking through each aisle commenting how we never had cool toys like this when I was a kid. No, seriously…we didn’t! I had my two-year-old nephew with me as he jumped from toy to toy—wanting everything in sight. We’ve all been there right? Toys hold a power in kids unlike anything else. They have the ability to empower, educate, and inspire their young minds.

I love my papa with all of my heart. He is such an amazing man, he has a big heart, he’s a hard worker, and he’s unlike any other. No, he’s not perfect and that’s OK. On this Father’s Day, I’m reflecting on our relationship. And it’s so very different today, compared to when I was a kid. We weren’t very close. I guess you can say we didn’t have that typical father and daughter relationship. In fact, it wasn’t until I was in my late teens when that all changed for the better.
I’m in the mood for love, romance, and all things Valentine’s Day. Yes, I’m a hopeless romantic. What are you going to do with this girl? I can’t help it—I have a big ol’ heart. I just love love. And it’s during this time of the year, we’re usually bombarded with all things red. Instead, I’m easily inspired by the soft hues of pink, mauve, ivory, and gold.

So, I’ve put together a list of statement necklaces that are $20 and under. You don’t have to worry about shipping either. These are stores most of you have near you. So, let’s go do some New Year’s Eve shopping!
The countdown to 2015 is on! I know you’re all probably in outfit mode. Trying to figure out what you’re going to wear on New Year’s Eve. Hopefully I can help you a little with some inspiration.
