The New York City whirlwind that is Full Figured Fashion Week
ended just as I imagined it would—an evening bursting with plus size fashion on the runway. On this night retailers and boutiques had a chance to show us their latest and favorite styles. And we even had a performance from The Glamazons. A big thank you to Fit For Me
, the premier sponsor, for having me as one of their blogger ambassadors! I had a seat in the front row with an amazing view of the runway.
The Full Figured Fashion Week recaps continue with photos from the Celebrate My Size Expo co-hosted by Plus Model Magazine. I was given a sneak peek with some fellow bloggers before the expo opened to the public. Which you can view on Periscope under my username “Curves and Chaos.” For now, take a peek at some photos I took!

Full Figured Fashion Week (FFFWeek), presented by Fit For Me, has come and gone. Just like that. Time flies when you’re having fun in New York City. Seriously, the week just flew by for me. I arrived late Tuesday, after a long travel day. The only thing that kept my spirits up was knowing that the next morning, I would have my first event—the Fit For Me Breakfast.

I am really excited and honored to announce that I am an official Fit For Me Full Figured Fashion Week Blogger Ambassador! I’m coming for you New York City! So, what does that mean? It means I’ll be covering and sharing some special events for Fit For Me—the premier sponsor of FFFWeek®! You’ll even have a chance to enter a giveaway and join in on a special Facebook Chat with yours truly (details below).
I think this just might be my last post about Full Figured Fashion Week 2013. I’ve done quite a few! Well, since it’s probably the last (unless I come across more photos), I’d love to share some of the looks I saw on the night of the Indie Fashion Showcase. I’ve always been kind of a people watcher, and I can’t enough of other people’s personal style. This night I saw such an eclectic mix of fashion and it was awesome!
It seems like the photos from my NYC visit will never stop. I apparently took over 900 photos while I was there! That’s a lot to share with you. So, as long as I have them, I’ll share them here. A few of those photos are from the Evans Fall/Winter Preview. I was lucky enough to get an invite and check out what’s to come from the UK retailer!
Here’s another one of my favorite designers from the Full Figured Fashion Week Indie Designers Showcase—Nakimuli! I’m happy to report that this collection was exciting and daring too! Some of my favorite pieces were the swimsuits, but there were a few separates I wouldn’t mind owning as well. Once again a designer, Tennille McMillan, is having fun with curvy fashion!
I imagine the designer of Rue 114, Serwah Asante, to be this really cool, vibrant, and carefree woman. I’ve never met her, but I just get that vibe when I look at her collection. Even her motto is awesome—”Great style should be available in all sizes because fabulous, fierce, kick-ass women come in all sizes!” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Here you go ladies! Part 2 of the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference I was invited to while here at Full Figured Fashion Week. The second half of this day was all about the upcoming fall trends and some much needed conversation. I know that’s something I really appreciate. We all know in the end, they’re running a business, but
Hello loves! I’m still here in New York reporting from Full Figured Fashion Week. Yesterday, I was invited to the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference and I have a few photos to share with you! OK…I have quite a few. That’s why I’m going to break this up into two parts.
Yesterday was a blur. After a redeye flight from Los Angeles I finally made it to NYC for Full Figured Fashion Week! I’m so excited to be here for the third year in a row. I’m not a part of the Fashion Front this year, so this week I’m on my own. I’m looking forward to seeing FFFWeek from the other side!
Phew!! I’ve finally uploaded all of my Full Figured Fashion Week photos to the Curves and Chaos Facebook page! View them here. It felt like it took forever, but it was sooooo worth it! I rediscovered my love for photography and can’t wait to start taking a few classes and investing in equipment. Watching these models walk down the runway, I was so inspired to capture every moment. I’ve gathered a few of my favorite runway images below.
I seriously think the photos will never stop! LOL! In an attempt to bring you all the amazingness from Full Figured Fashion Week…this is the last post with individual designers. The next two will contain all of the remaining designers. If I continued at this rate, then I’d be posting for a few weeks. And by then, you’ll be sick of me and FFFWeek! LOL! OK…enough of that. Here are two creative and inspiring designers SK WiLBUR and Ashley Nell Tipton.
Who loves dramatic glamour? I do! I do! That’s what Nicci Gilbert-Daniels gave us with her line…Curvato. As a member of the popular R&B group Brownstone, Nicci experienced low self-esteem “because of my size..Stylist often had to special order or custom make my clothing because buying fashionable clothing off the rack was not an option for me like it was for many of my peers.” Who hasn’t felt this or experienced this in some way?
I first saw Youtheary Khmer show at Full Figured Fashion Week(end) in Los Angeles and she really stood out to me. That was two years ago and today she’s still impressing fashionistas around the world. Her current collection sold out the day it went on sale online. I think items are still on back order! I had a chance to chat with her at the recent FFFWeek press event and she’s still trying to catch her breath. She’s a very talented designer and I wish her nothing but success.
