It’s Hot and I’m Floral

I guess this HOT weekend was one with a lot of firsts. For example, I haven’t worn a floral romper since I was kid. I was really surprised when Torrid sent me their Floral Ruffle Tube Romper ($48.50). I don’t even think I would of purchased this for myself. Doesn’t it kind of look like a dress? I was happy there were no malfunctions while wearing it. And you have no idea how happy I was knowing that there were pockets. It was roomy and pretty comfy, but after wearing it all day the elastic in the tube top kind of … Continue reading

Another 90′s Fashion Trend?

We all know that denim comes in a lot of different washes. When I was a teen (showing my age LOL) acid wash was really popular. A few weeks ago, I went into a Forever 21 and saw a few pairs of acid wash jeans. You probably saw them. They were turquoise and pink. I can’t remember the other colors. Ever since that moment, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. But, I knew I couldn’t really pull off those colors. Then I walked into Forever 21 on Saturday and saw these Mineral Wash Skinny Jeans ($24.80) below. I knew I had … Continue reading

This Trend is Cool as Blue

Image found on JustJared.com The minute I saw Chanel Iman in this amazing turquoise dress, I knew I had to write this post. I’m not sure who the designer is, but I do know she wore it to the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City. Raise your hand if you wish a designer would make this gown for us curvy girls (raises hand).  Why do straight sizes have all the fashion fun? No fair! This has always been one of my favorite colors. It reminds me of the turquoise jewelery my mom would buy me from Arizona. Did you … Continue reading

Chiffon is Chic!

It’s about to get real classy up in here…make room for chiffon ladies. Chiffon is that material that was usually saved for special occassion dresses. Not anymore. I have seen this trend every where. And I really think any age or size can wear it in almost any color. There are so many different styles and it’s used different ways. Personally, I love when it’s used on the sleeves. Just so you know, I am literally lusting after #4 from Dorothy Perkins and if someone buys it before I do…I just might scream. Which chiffon piece below caught your eye?  … Continue reading

Pretty Cardigan in Pretty Peach

This may surprise you, but I used to hate wearing bright colors. OK, you might have heard me say that before. But, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m still on the fence about bright colors, but one of my shopping partners in crime is slowly getting me out of my “dark clothes comfort zone.” On a side note…I just went back and took a look at my old outfit post and I wore a lot of grey and black! Today, you are my witness as I vow to start wearing more color!! Yes, you heard it here … Continue reading

All Bangled Up!

Welcome to my new obsession, wooden bangle bracelet sets. Yes, it has to be a set. My friend Ivory has really inspired me to start wearing large bangle bracelets. She always rocks them! Today, I went shopping with my mom and she bought me an early birthday gift, which included a set from Avenue. She did buy me other stuff, but you’ll have to wait and see those. If you haven’t noticed, I have to buy my bracelets at plus size stores. I have my dad to thank for my large man hands. LOL. I love the tribal feel you … Continue reading

What I Wore: Hispanicize Conference

Last week I attended the Hispanicize 2011 right here in Hollywood. It was their 2nd Annual PR & Social Media conference. I had an amazing time networking and reconnecting with my friends. I was asked to sit in on a panel of Fashion and Beauty bloggers. I was pretty nervous. There were four of us up there and I couldn’t help but stress how brands and companies are passing up opportunities to work with the “plus size” community. I also made sure to tell the audience, that I don’t sit here telling you what to wear. I just give you … Continue reading

Wishful ‘Spring Outfit’ Thinking

I really wish it wasn’t raining today. Yes, I said it. I know I said I love the rain in the past, but after a leak in the roof caused damage to my closet (the consequence of living on the top floor), I am reconsidering the love. Thank goodness nothing was damaged. My clothes, shoes, and handbags are safe and sound. We caught the leak just in time. So, now I sit here wishing I could wear an outfit like the one below. Instead, I think I’m pulling out my Uggs. Sandals at DSWClutches by Lauren Ralph Lauren

Plus Size Shopping iPhone/iPad Apps

It’s no secret that the iPhone and the iPad have revolutionized our  little world. Getting information on the go and in the palm of your hand is more convenient than ever. I do own an iPad and I will admit I’m kinda obsessed with the apps (a.k.a. applications). You know the saying…”There’s an app for that!” Well is there? Not exactly. We all know I’m a shopaholic and I’d love to do some shopping from my iPad. Sadly, there are only a few options for the “curvy” lady. I found a few free iPhone and iPad shopping apps that offer … Continue reading
