I’m in a flirty and fun mood over here with Valentine’s Day on the brain. I’m not normally a lingerie kind of girl, so you’ll have to excuse the lack of chemises and corsets. Instead, let’s get inspired with a pair of sexy and fun plus size panties!
When I look back and realize how far the plus-size fashion industry has come, I can’t help but think of those who fought and helped it evolve. Emme, known as the “first plus-size supermodel,” is one of those people. And she is far from finished. I don’t normally share interviews that I don’t do myself, but I felt like this is one you should read. She opens up about how she got started, her views on the plus-size fashion industry, and what she’s working on.
A few years ago, I wrote about being a last minute shopper. It turns out, I’m still that person. I literally wait until the day of an event or an occasion to run to the mall to get an outfit together. As you can guess, it’s very exhausting! I envy those who plan outfits weeks or days in advance!
We all know I’m not the boldest one in the room. But, that’s definitely something I’m working on. And I couldn’t do it with a little help from my friends. It’s a good idea to have some amazing supporters on your side, who are well-versed in creating their own personal style. So, when I have an event to attend, need last-minute styling advice, and am considering mixing prints—who did I call?
Can you believe 2014 is almost over? I can’t! When I think about the past year and what I’ve written for you, I think about why I started this blog. My intention was to help women like me who didn’t know where to find plus-size fashion. But, as the years have flown by, this blog has evolved into something else.
I’m happy to report that it’s finally starting to feel like sweater weather around here. You don’t even know how happy that makes me. I’m a huge fan of chilly weather. I know you East Coasters probably think I’m crazy, but when you live in L.A. it’s not something you’re used to. This gloomy day helped me realize that it’s time to stock up on cozy sweaters.
If you’re a fan of designer shopping sites, I think you’re going to love this sale. Even though they don’t carry plus sizes, Shopbop is one of my favorite sites for designer shoes, accessories, and handbags. And I know that sales don’t happen very often on this site. So, when they do have a sale, I have to take advantage of it—reasonably of course. For the next three days (October 14-16), you can enjoy Shopbop’s Friends and Family sale! That means 25% sitewide (with some brand exclusions).
Fall is here and I’m sad to say that my wardrobe is not ready. As much as I wanted summer to be over, this procrastinator hasn’t really done any fall shopping. I blame it on the warm L.A. weather. Now, that I know it’s fall, there are five plus-size tops I want to add to my closet.
When the news of plus models walking the runway during New York Fashion Week hit social media, it seemed like the internet exploded for a moment. Everyone had an opinion about it. Some good, some bad, and some right-on-point. The minute I read my friend Ivory’s Instagram status, underneath a photo of model Denise Bidot walking the Chromat runway, I couldn’t help but laugh and instantly agree with her.
Hey everyone! I’m Maya from Mayainthemoment.com! Monique asked me to guest post this week and of course I had to say YES! Since I’m a fashion “n00b”, I consider myself a “lazy girl,” which is basically someone who is low maintenance when it comes to all things fashion. This summer I went through an experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to dress up! Check out that story in the video below along with my own fashion tips for lazy girls!
Disclosure: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and the TuVida App.
When it comes to Latinos in fashion, you can’t help but think of designers like Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, or even Isabel Toledo. They may be the biggest names in fashion today, but do you ever think about how they got their start? This is why I love events like Latino Fashion Week (LFW). They are created to introduce us to emerging and talented Latino designers. Fresh off their Dallas show, LFW came to Los Angeles! I was invited on behalf of the new Tu Vida app, to check out and share my experience.
Are you ready? Let’s go back to the 90’s. I just realized that was ummmmm…over 20 years ago. I’m proud to say I was killing it back then with my style! Thanks to my mom of course. I think what I loved the most about 90s fashion trends were the floral baby doll dresses and Dr. Martens boots. Yes, I went there. Well, just like all trends, they tend to circle back and this seems to be the style of the moment.
