Imagine getting a bra-fitting from an expert and helping raise breast cancer awareness.
From October 20-22, the Nordstrom Fits America event will do just that!
During the event, Nordstrom will donate $2 from every bra sold to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. And if you spend $50 or more (in-store), you’ll receive a reusable tote, while supplies last.
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for 3 years now. It really seems just like yesterday. Back then, I would have never imagined to be where I am today.
I’m not at all on blogger celebrity status. In fact, probably not even close. LOL. But, I do love what I do and what I get to experience. I consider myself very blessed.
Last week, I was invited to attend Latina Magazine’s 15th anniversary party by COVERGIRL. I’ve been reading this magazine since it was first published. So, this was very exciting for me.
I kind of waited until the last minute to buy my dress. I wanted a very simple LBD. I found this dress over at Torrid and paired it jewlery from Aldo and shoes from Torrid. My makeup is all COVERGIRL, especially the lipstick. It’s Ruby Slipper from the Queen Collection.
I just happened to get my make-up touched up by Artemis, the Beauty Editor of Plus Model Magazine. She’s super sweet and couldn’t believe this was our first time meeting in person. I even got to hang out with Cid from CidStyleFile.com. Love that chick!
I had an amazing night…check out a few pictures below.
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I did receive complimentary admission to this event and a gift bag. The above is my true and honest opinion.
Curves and Chaos is going pink in October, all to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
I hope to honor the memory of my aunt and all of those affected by this horrible disease.
I have a lot planned throughout the entire month. You’ll learn essential health information and tips, what you can do to help, and how you can support the fashion brands out there that are helping the cause themselves. I’ll even have a giveaway each week!
My main goal is help educate you, and of course bring awareness.
Don’t tell anyone, but I think I’m a closet beauty junkie. I can’t get enough!
I was so excited when L’Oreal Paris invited me to visit their beauty suite at the Emmy’s Luxury Lounge! It was held inside the beautiful Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills, on Saturday.
Whenever I get invited to an event I honestly don’t know what to expect.
For example, I almost bumped into Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron Tucker, when I exited the elevator. I also spotted Jerry Ferrara who plays Turtle on Entourage. He’s too cute!
I made my way to the L’Oreal Paris Beauty Suite and was greeted, offered a yummy cocktail, and headed to get a manicure. I was so flustered when I arrived, but the amazing Danielle from L’Oreal and Cindy from Soy Fashionista quickly calmed my nerves. Thanks ladies!!
After my mani and chatting with celebrity makeup artist and L’Oreal Paris consulting expert Johnny Lavoy, I went over to get my hair done. Johnny is amazing by the way.
Before I knew it, my hair was styled and it was time to go. I’d like to send a BIG thank you to L’Oreal Paris for the invite and pampering. Let’s do it again sometime!!
Here’s what I wore…
Check out photos from the beauty suite event below…

I am missing NYC soooo much right now. The Plus Model Magazine blogger conference was so much fun. There’s just something about being around a group of women who love fashion as much as you do. Nevermind the fact that we all love and appreciate our curves. Everyone looked so beautiful and the confidence was beaming from that room. Once again, a BIG thank you to Plus Model Magazine and Just As You Are for inviting me.
Erica Watson was hilarious, as always, and the models were beautiful. Unfortunately, my batteries and back-up batteries died. I didn’t get any photos after the Just As You Are fashion show. I wanted to take photos of all the bloggers too. Boooooo! to dead batteries.
Here’s something you’ve probably said before…”Why can’t I find a coat that fits me?”
Fall is almost here and you know that means chilly weather. You all know I love when it gets cold. Although, L
os Angeles doesn’t get that cold, I still want a nice coat that actually fits me.
This weekend I was in New York, for the first Plus Model Magazine blogger conference. It was so much fun!! We were getting the first look, with a group of amazingly beautiful bloggers (those pics to come), of the new line of outerwear by Just As You Are.
Just As You Are wants to emphasize to all of us that they do care about what we want and for us to know that “size doesn’t matter.” They’ve done the research, believe me. They’ve listened, which a lot of brands don’t do. The coats do not come in sizes, you add your measurments, they tell you what coats would suit you, and you order. Simple.
As I watched the ladies modeling the coats (below), I noticed that there was something for everyone. They’ve to
uched on the small details. And believe me it’s the small details that count. For example, they only use faux furs, and they are incredibly soft. The coats are light weight, come in great fall colors, they have inside zippers, linings and faux fur collars that detach.
Prices will range from $159-$289, not bad for something you’ll use for many years.
The site will be live no later than September 14th. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. These coats really are mad
e for us. It’s about time.
“Like” them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and tweet them with you questions or comments. They will also be featured in the next issue of Plus Model Magazine, so be on the lookout. A big thank you to all the amazing ladies of Plus Model Magazine that made this conference happen. I can’t wait for the next one.
New York City here I come! Yes, I’m coming back and I couldn’t be more excited. I was lucky enough to be invited to the Plus Model Magazine Conference with Just As You Are.
Just As You Are, a, outerwear company, will give us (a group of bloggers) the first look at their plus collection.
Just As You Are™ is brought to you by AUI International, who have been designing and making ladies coats and outerwear for over 50 years. They are branching out to the plus size market – uniquely blending high fashion and functionality . Their Fall/Winter 2011 media campaign incorporates a diversity of real women , in a variety of shapes and types.
I’m not going to lie, I’m really excited. How many times have I been shopping for a coat, especially a wool pea coat, and couldn’t find anything that was of decent quality. It’s another form of fat girl shopping frustration…don’t you agree?
Now, don’t worry. I will be tweeting, posting on Facebook, and blogging all about it. So make sure you’re following me on Twitter @CurvesandChaos and on Facebook “Like” www.facebook.com/curvesandchaos.
Cid (CidStyleFile.com) and I attended the Taylor Swift concert last night courtesy of COVERGIRL. I wasn’t a fan…until I met Tayler and saw her perform. She’s an amazingly sweet and talented person. And she even said I was pretty! So, now I really LOVER her. LOL. And yes, I was wearing COVERGIRL last night.
I was wearing their Natureluxe Silk foundation, Liquiline Blast eyeliner in Silver Spark (I always get complimented on this color), Queen Collection lip color in Nude Attitude, and the LashPerfection mascara.
We had such an amazing time! Thanks COVERGIRL!! Take a look at my slide show of photos below.
I’m back ladies! In case you didn’t know, I was in San Diego attending a blogging conference. BlogHer is the largest conference for women bloggers. There are over 3,000 women from all over the world. It was so much fun, and such a great learning experience.
Over the next couple of days, you’ll see some of the outfits I wore. Torrid, Jessica London, Ashley Stewart, and Sonsi supplied me with clothes and accessories for the weekend. Thank you so much guys!
On the first day of the conference, I wore this Grey All-Over Tiger Print Maxi Dress ($54.50) from Torrid. I got so many compliments on this dress. You know I love maxi dresses.
And of course I love the fact that there are tigers all over the dress! It was such a unique print and I know the cut of this dress would look great on everyone. Just watch out for the length. Remember, I’m 5’6 and I’m wearing sandals and the dress was practically on the floor. But, I kind of like that. LOL.
So, what do you think? Are you loving the tiger print?
Where are all my Victoria’s Secret Beauty fans? Are you in love with Secret Garden too? The smells are intoxicating… aren’t they?
Did you know your favorite fragrances of Secret Garden have been reinvented. It’s now VS Fantasies and they’ve even added five new scents.
I was lucky enough to be invited to an intimate dinner at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood with Victoria’s Secret Angel Candace Swanepoel. Now, I didn’t know how intimate this dinner was going to be and I had never been to the legendary hotel. I had no idea what to expect.
As you can see in the pics below, it was very intimate. I met great people, had insightful conversation, and ate delicious food. I ate creme brulee for the first time!
I did get the Sheer love collection and I can honestly tell you it smells sweet and sexy, without being too overbearing. I have a sensitive nose when it comes to fragrances and this is delish! I’m dying over over the body butter!! Stay tuned…I have the entire collection you’ll be able to win soon!
And as for my dress, I bought it from my friend Crystal Rene at Haute CurVture. It was comfy and long! Just the way I like my maxi dresses. xoxo
