Where are all my Victoria’s Secret Beauty fans? Are you in love with Secret Garden too? The smells are intoxicating… aren’t they?
Did you know your favorite fragrances of Secret Garden have been reinvented. It’s now VS Fantasies and they’ve even added five new scents.
I was lucky enough to be invited to an intimate dinner at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Hollywood with Victoria’s Secret Angel Candace Swanepoel. Now, I didn’t know how intimate this dinner was going to be and I had never been to the legendary hotel. I had no idea what to expect.
As you can see in the pics below, it was very intimate. I met great people, had insightful conversation, and ate delicious food. I ate creme brulee for the first time!
I did get the Sheer love collection and I can honestly tell you it smells sweet and sexy, without being too overbearing. I have a sensitive nose when it comes to fragrances and this is delish! I’m dying over over the body butter!! Stay tuned…I have the entire collection you’ll be able to win soon!
And as for my dress, I bought it from my friend Crystal Rene at Haute CurVture. It was comfy and long! Just the way I like my maxi dresses. xoxo
There were lots of celebs and athletes hanging around getting their choice of spa treatments. Just to name a few actress Gabrielle Union, sisters Vanessa and Angela Simmons, ESPN’s Erin Andrews, and hottie actor Jesse Williams.
As I was getting my manicure, I happened to be sitting next to the beautiful actres Gabrielle Union. We were all having a discussion about Softcup. If you don’t know, Softcup it’s the “no strings attached” feminine product. We were just getting tips on how to use it and the benefits of it. Believe me you have to check it out.
After my manicure, I munched on treats from the Little Next Door brasserie. The hummus is soooo yummy! Then I had a few cocktails while I was waiting for my amazing aromatherapy swedish massage.
And I can’t forget about my first ever oxygen facial. OK, it was my first facial ever and it was to…die…for.
I didn’t even know there was a Bliss Spa located that close to me and now I want to go ALL the time. Sometimes we need a little or a lot of pampering. Thanks to all the staff who were amazingly friendly! This is spa event I’ll never forget!
Sorry, I don’t have any pics of my outfit. But, I was wearing a coral SWAK tank and Torrid skinny jeans.
Ever since I got back from NYC, I really haven’t been feeling too well. So, in order to try and feel normal, I attended an event on Sunday. COVERGIRL was out and about in L.A. showcasing their Queen Collection at the BET Beauty Lounge.
It was held at the always fabulous, Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood and the glam was definitely on hand. This exclusive event featured celebrity make-up artist Ashunta Sheriff and actress Tika Sumpter. Both were so sweet! Ashunta gave us some amazing and useful tips, while she was getting Tika red carpet ready for the BET Awards.
We got mini-makeovers. As you can see, I did get my make up done (smokey eye) and you know they have that amazing braid bar at the salon. I just wanted something loose and romantic. I loved it! I wore this green rayon dress I bought at Target, a skinny gold belt from New York and Company, jewelry from Avenue and nude peep toe sling backs by Jessica Simpson. And if you’re wondering, that’s an amazing coral Cacique plunge bra under that dress! LOL!! Is that FYI?
I did get to hang out with my girlies Marie from The Curvy Fashionista, Ivory from Ivory Jinelle, and Romy form Romy Raves. Love these ladies!! You know what else I love? The fact that I am falling more and more in love with COVERGIRL products. Not only am I getting a reasonably priced and amazing quality product, but with the Queen Collection it’s make up especially for my skin tone! And it’s easy to apply. That makes me a very happy curvy Latina!!
I walked out with an amazing gift bag full of Queen Collection products. And if you were on Twitter today, you had a chance to win a free lipstick. Follow me @CurvesandChaos for more spontaneous giveaways!
Disclosure: Entry to this event was complimentary. I did receive a gift bag and complimentary beauty services. The above is my true and honest opinion.
WOW, I can’t believe Full Figured Fashion Week is finally over. It’s such a bittersweet feeling. The events I attended were amazing and a step in the right direction for the plus size community.
I’ve never seen such support and love for us fashion loving curvy women.
Here are some images from the White on White Sunset Cruise that was held on Thursday night. What do you get when you invite a bunch of curvy girls wearing white on a boat? Fabulousness of course…and a lot of dancing.
Everyone looked great and proved that there are no rules in fashion! Who said we can’t or shouldn’t wear white? We proved them wrong…once again. Thanks for an unforgettable night Gwen and staff!!
I’m wearing a maxi dress from New York & Company, Jessica Simpson peep toe sling backs, an Aldo cross body bag and necklace, and bracelets from Avenue.
Here are some awesome photos by John Sciulli from the COVERGIRL Beauty Bar event at the Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood. You can see below Makeup Artist Amy Nadine applying blush, before I got my hair done. Read the post about the event here.

I’m sorry I don’t have any pics from this event. We weren’t allowed to take any photos or video. But, I can tell you this chic salon was packed.
I got my makeup done by the very sweet and talented Amy Nadine. My braided hair was courtesy of the salon. They have a Braid Bar there and only charge $25 to have your hair braided in your style of choice. I know I’ll be back!
They also offered manicures, pedicures, blow outs, and spray tan. Hypnotic was on hand with their new Harmonie Liqueur vodka. We enjoyed purple cocktails, eats, and sweets. We also walked a way with a bag of goodies.
I was going to wear a dress, but it was cloudy here in Los Angeles. I wore this feather-inspired flowy top from Nordstrom Rack, my (fave) City Chic wide leg jeans, and these (new favorite) coral Dolce Vita wedges I also scored at Nordstrom Rack. And you know I’m bangle crazy right now, so I wore these that I got at Avenue, my ring is from H&M, and the earrings are from a small boutique.
It’s hard to believe Torrid is 10 years old. On Sunday night, I was invited to attend one of their birthday parties at the Brea, California store. After the mall closed, we were allowed in the store to shop, mingle, eat yummy mini-cupcakes, and take photos. There were raffles ( we didn’t win) and music (thanks DJ Dazzler). Ivory and I found a lot of things we loved, but I only bought two rings, which were “Buy One, Get 1/2 Off.” Can’t beat that deal. If you look at the photo below, you’ll see they even had live models on display in the windows. They were too cute!
“Soiree” is French for “evening party.” A party in New York City? That’s sounds just about right for this next Full Figured Fashion Week event.
We want to invite you to come out and “join us for an “end of the work week” wind down. Mix, mingle, sip, and chat with in a social setting while continuing our monumental celebration of curves and fashion.”
Make sure you get your tickets! They are only $25 and can be purchased here. I heard they are selling out quickly. According to my countdown, there are only 22 days until FFFWeek!! Are you ready?
Do you ever have those days where just don’t want to get out of bed and get dressed? That was me on Saturday. It’s been a little gloomy here in L.A., maybe that’s why.
Good thing I got my butt out of bed, I was invited to the P&G Orgullosa de mi Belleza (Proud of my Beauty) event at the Sunset Tower Hotel. It was such a great afternoon of pampering.
I got my hair and make up done with Pantene and CoverGirl products. Then I had a hand massage with Oil of Olay body lotion and a neck massage. I was in heaven.
I also had a chance to meet Celebrity Makeup Artist Rebecca Restrepo. She gave me some tips on how to create a cat eye, without struggling (LOL). We even walked out with a gift bag full of P&G goodies!
The outfit I wore was just thrown together at the last minute. The cardigan is from H&M, the navy top is from Macy’s, jeans are Levi’s Curve I.D. straight leg from HSN, my shoes are Kensie’s, my jewelery is from Lane Bryant, and the handbag is courtesy of Shoedazzle.com.
Disclaimer: Entry to the event was free along with the products. The above is my true and honest opinion.
I’ve already told you I’m obsessed with maxi dresses this season. And this one from City Chic is no exception. I wore this at the opening of the About Face exhibit and I never felt more sexy. Seriously, it’s a va-va-voom dress in the chest area. Meaning, it showed a lot of cleavage. LOL. The dress is no longer available on CityChicOnline.com. Sorry, but there are tons of other pretty dresses. I paired it with gold earrings, a black cascading cardigan, Nine West open-toed pumps, and my new fave Melie Bianco clutch. I wore the dress again on my birthday and I can’t wait to wear it again.
Disclosure: This dress is courtesy of City Chic. The above is my true and honest opinion.

Last week I attended the Hispanicize 2011 right here in Hollywood. It was their 2nd Annual PR & Social Media conference. I had an amazing time networking and reconnecting with my friends. I was asked to sit in on a panel of Fashion and Beauty bloggers. I was pretty nervous. There were four of us up there and I couldn’t help but stress how brands and companies are passing up opportunities to work with the “plus size” community.
I also made sure to tell the audience, that I don’t sit here telling you what to wear. I just give you recommendations on what I like and feel would look good on me. We all know that we have to find our own personal style. That being said, here are the three outfits taken by the awesome Cid of Cid Style File. My partner in crime. I made sure to dress comfy, because these are all day conferences. P.S. don’t mind my hair (I swear it was windy) and my awkward poses. LOL.
Disclaimer: I was NOT financially compensated for the above. Although some items were gifted, the above is my true and honest opinion.
Full Figured Fashion Week, the only plus size fashion week, will invade New York June 16-18 and I can’t be more excited. I’ve only attended the Los Angeles FFF Week and it was beyond amazing. I was a part of The Curvy Collective, a group of bloggers chosen to cover the event. This year the name of the group has changed, it is now The Fashion Front and I have been selected as a member again. I am so very honored to be included with these fellow bloggers!
