It’s time for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s 2nd Annual Super Saturday sale in Los Angeles! The charity fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Santa Monica at The Barker Hanger. It’s hosted by Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman with Molly Sims and Scott Stuber. I attended last year and it is really a shopper’s delight. The New York Times has even called it “the Rolls Royce of garage sales.” and they’re giving me a pair of passes to give away to you!
I am so excited to finally be able to announce that I will be helping host the exclusive Grand Opening Event at Lane Bryant’s new location at The Collection at Riverpark in Oxnard, California! When I first started this blog in 2008, I remember searching online for plus size brands to feature or shop from. That’s when I found Maurices, a fashion retailer specializing in women’s fashion in a range of sizes. Back then, they had a very small plus size collection. Today, they offer so many more options, including activewear and swimwear. They recently invited me to attend a spring event they were hosting in Downtown L.A., of course I had to go!
A few month’s ago, I found this really fun Jonathan Adler pouch. The minute I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. I bought it and then I kind of forgot all about it. It basically got lost in the abyss that is my room. Then, as if it was meant to be, it turned up—a week before Valentine’s Day. I knew I had to take it out to play before the official day of love.
I consider myself a denim kind of lady—wearing it all of the time. Truth is, I don’t wear dresses very often. But, when L’Oreal Paris invited me to attend the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas, I made sure to find one that added some much needed sparkle. I had a few outfits ideas in mind for the biggest night in Latin music. It was this look that made the cut!
Keeping secrets from you is not my favorite thing in the world. In fact, it took everything to not spill all the details. We were sworn to secrecy…I swear! Dove asked if I’d like to try out their new Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Care Dry Oil Collection and invited me to a live taping of The Talk! I said
There’s just something about Katy Perry’s songs. They’re so catchy. You hear them once and they’re just stuck in your head all day. “I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar…” Yeah, that was me days after CoverGirl invited me to attend her Los Angeles concert. And to make the night cooler, I even got the chance to meet her!
When COVERGIRL invites you to get pampered and attend the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA’s), but you can’t go—you don’t let an opportunity like that pass by! That’s why I asked my beautiful, funny, and adorable friend Maya if she wanted to go for me. And she said yes!
COVERGIRL knows how to throw a party. Last night, they kicked off the MTV Video Music Awards with a pre-party featuring performances by Becky G and Jessie J. Yes, they are not only “Easy, Breezy, and Beautiful,” but they’re both extremely amazing performers. Total girl power! Watch the video I took of them both performing at the end of this post, which includes a cover of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and “Bang Bang!”
Disclosure: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and the TuVida App.
When it comes to Latinos in fashion, you can’t help but think of designers like Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, or even Isabel Toledo. They may be the biggest names in fashion today, but do you ever think about how they got their start? This is why I love events like Latino Fashion Week (LFW). They are created to introduce us to emerging and talented Latino designers. Fresh off their Dallas show, LFW came to Los Angeles! I was invited on behalf of the new Tu Vida app, to check out and share my experience.
There are very few designers and brands out there that create fashion for all sizes. Some will design for straight, then later will create separate and different designs for plus sizes. Melissa Masse is one of those that designs for all—sizes XS to 3X. It’s very refreshing! I was recently invited to her spring preview and I fell in love with her vibrant prints and amazing fit.
When I get an invitation to get pampered, let’s just say I’m in. But, if you’re Simply Be, you want to pamper me, and you want me to preview some of your spring pieces…well then that’s just a triple bonus! You know I’m really in! Along with a few of my very good blogger friends, we gathered in L.A. to get out nails done, chat, and more.
Let’s be honest, awards season has been pretty good so far. But, we still have the SAG Awards and the Academy Awards to look forward to. Don’t you just love the anticipation of the red carpet? Who is wearing what designer? And what will their hair and makeup look like. This past week, I actually got the inside scoop to a few Golden Globes celebrity looks thanks to L’Oreal Paris.
