If you’re an Anna Scholz fan, you know she’s all about her bold patterns and bright colors. That’s what I love most about her. She’s not afraid to dress the plus size woman in what is normally seen as taboo for our curves. Her latest capsule collection, New York State of Mind, is a perfect example of that. The collection launched yesterday and I am all about it. As you’ll see below, she used “The Big Apple” as the back drop for the photoshoot. What do you think? Are you a fan? You can find the latest Anna Scholz collection here.
When it comes to plus size fashion, I think a lot of people tend to forget that luxury designers are part of the industry. A brand like Marina Rinaldi, which has been around since 1980, is designing sophisticated yet modern designs for the curvy woman. I was invited to a special spring/summer preview at their Beverly Hills boutique and I was in love with so many pieces. As you’ll see below, this italian brand is all about colors and prints for the upcoming seasons. My favorite part of the collection is the collaboration with Japanese Fashion Designer Tsumori Chisato. It’s…
In 1989, Designer and CEO Michele Bohbot launched her collection Bisou Bisou–French slang meaning, “a little kiss.” If you’re a JCPenney customer than you might have seen some of her designs in-store. I had a chance to ask her a few questions about her line, where she draws inspiration, and of course the plus size collection.
I know summer is still here, but when you’re a fan of Shopbop and they tell you about a handbag sale…you already start planning for fall. OK…at least I do. Right now, they are offering 20% off select “classic” bags with code: INTHEBAG If you’re a regular designer handbag shopper, then you know you can’t pass up something like this. I found 10 designer classic bags that I thought would be perfect this fall.
Who’s ready to head back to school? I know I’ve considered going back and getting my master’s degree. It’s definitely something that keeps popping into my mind. I always imagine that being a student now, would be a lot different than back then. I’d definitely invest in better supplies. You know…to keep me motivated. Just like these from Kate Spade.
I just finished watching the season premiere episode of Project Runway and I can say it was one of my favorite episodes EVER. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, without access to the internet—you know that plus size indie designer Ashley Nell Tipton is a contestant this season. And in my opinion, she is the best thing to happen to Project Runway.
Did I ever tell you how important indie plus-size fashion designers are to this community? They bring creativity, quality, and detail to their collections that a lot of big brands sometimes miss. Not to mention blood, sweat, and tears. As you know, Elann Zelie of Zelie for She is a personal friend of mine. And she is so passionate about her line and creating stylish clothing for plus-size women. So, when she asked if I’d be interested in modeling a few of her pieces, of course I said yes!
