I’ve always considered Jeffrey Campbell the hippie rocker of the shoe industry. I will admit I only own one pair and I’ve decided this needs to change. The summer 2012 lookbook “Hot Child in the City” has helped influence this need for shoes. Like I really need a reason. LOL! I’m eyeing the “Dollywood” booties. How about you? Read more
Hey my loves…not sure if you’ve seen this yet, but here’s JIBRI’s Spring 2012 Collection. I will admit, I don’t own any of Jasmine’s designs, but my friend Ivory does and she LOVES the line. I’m actually eyeing that first skirt! So gorgeous! Her pieces don’t usually last very long, so if you see something you like…get on it! Check out the line here.
Update: I am now the proud owner of this skirt (below) LOL!
The Queen Grace Signature Spring Collection is now available online! Loving the clean and classic cuts and designs. Big fan! They are available in different prints and vibrant colors. They’ve even extended their sizes up to a 26. And they are offering a 25% discount code QUEENIE25 for all shoppers and FREE SHIPPING on all orders over $100! My favorite, the Grace dress is included as well!
Anna Scholz…what are you doing to me? You’re so fabulous and these latest images from her Hippie Chick collection from Anna Scholz Black Label Spring/Summer 2012 only prove it. I’m dying over here! I’ve always loved her use of prints with a feminine touch. And this collection is a perfect example of that.
Hippie Chick is “down-to-earth girliness with a sophisticated twist.” I agree. You will find maxi dresses and tunics in colors and prints for almost everyone. I will admit I’ve only owned one of her maxi dresses, but it’s so amazingly…amazing…that I just might have to splurge and grab something from this latest collection. Take a look for yourselves…what do you think? I can’t decide which one I want…
Oh Rachel Pally…you just don’t know what you’re doing to me. I’m sitting here waiting until I hear those magic words “Sample Sale.” Then I can head over and grab one of you creations below from your White Label. You’re warehouse is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. I love living in L.A.
If you don’t know, the Rachel Pally’s White Label is made exclusively for sizes 1X, 2X, and 3X. But, beware these sizes “can” be a little generous. I think that’s because her designs are meant to be chic and comfy at the same time. Imagine that…looking fab and feeling fab at the same time! And what I love about them is how wonderful the material feels on your skin. Yummy!
Take look below at some of my White Label favorites! I’m especially loving the Misha Dress!!
Which one do you love?
I am in LOVE with the Anna Scholz ‘White Label Collection’ Autumn/Winter 2011 look book. The backdrop is Montefiascone, Italy. It’s sooooo romantic! Shot by designer Anna Scholz’ brother Jonas, this look book is very reminiscent of Sofia Loren. I’ve been to Italy and this makes me want to go back! Oh and her designs are gorgeous as always.
Stylist Rachel Zoe not only dresses the hottest celebrities out there, but she also has her own collection. I’ve see her designs before, but I came across a few of her accessories yesterday and thought…”hmmm those are pretty cute.” Nothing to holler about, but great basics.
Then I looked at the price points for her shoes and handbags. They start at $295 and up. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think her pieces are a little overpriced. I love her unique personality, but that’s not really reflected in her collection. Unless, she was purposely trying to mimic all the bags and shoes she’s bought over the years. Some of them do have a vintage touch.
I want to know what you think.
Would you buy at these prices because your genuinely like her designs and because of her “celebrity” status?
Yes or No?
Tory Burch has always caught my eye, especially with that logo! I’m sorry, I’m not normally about logos, but I can’t help but look when I see someone wearing one of her pieces. Especially if it’s an accessory.
I have featured Tory in one of my first Style & Designer pieces here.
I was doing some research last night for the next issue of Plus Model Magazine and I couldn’t help but fall in love every time I saw one of her handbags. So, today I went looking for a few pieces and found these.
She’s keeps everything so classic and clean. Something I really appreciate when it comes to accessories. I would take everything here, because I can’t choose just one.
Although, the boots are kind of calling my name.
What would you rather wear, the flats or the boots?
Via the blog, All the way up here, here is a sneak peek at the Missoni for Target look book! These are just a few of the items that caught my eye. There’s a little discussion going around asking what sizes they will go up to. Hopefully, an XXL! that way I can squeeze myself into something here.
According to the blog, there will be more than 400 pieces. This includes luggage, home, children’s, men’s, swimsuit, and a really cute bike!! I can’t wait to see them all, especially this first chocolate sweater/poncho. Delish!
The collection will launch at Target on September 13th.
What pieces are most looking forward too?
What is a true fashionista? We all have our own definitions, but one word I always come to is “unlimited.” A true fashionista has no fashion limits. She will try on anything, regardless of the what the label says. “What? The label say’s it’s a large? So, what! I like it and I’m going to see if it fits.” Actually I know a few who don’t even look at sizes.
I thought of this yesterday, as I was shopping of course.
If you haven’t met my friend Ivory of the blog Ivory Jinelle, then you’re missing out. Not only is she a true fashionista, but she’s an awesome person to go shopping with (You’ll be seeing her a lot more around here). I love her outlook on fashion and her passion for not fitting the mold.
She’s one of the first curvy ladies, I met that didn’t “stay inside the lines.” When we go shopping, she goes straight to the ‘straight sizes.’ No pun intended. I’m always like…”Hey, the plus section is over here.”
Today, because of her and a few other curvy fashion inspirations online, I do not fear walking into the “straight sizes.” Actually it’s more of a personal challenge for me. As some of you might have read, for a long time, I was intimidated to walk into “straight size” stores or departments. Not anymore and for that I thank you…true fashionistas.
Here are a few straight size lines/brands that I’ve found. Make sure you try them on, some of their pieces are hit or miss. And remember I’m a size XXL or 16/18.
I tend to stick to her size XL, preferably any of her draped pieces.
Yes, I know she has the White Label Collection, but her straight sizes run pretty big. I have a dress that’s a large and it’s till big on me.
I tried on a size large tank yesterday and it fit perfectly, but it was stretchy.
If you’re going to buy here, aim for the over-sized tops. I bought two yesterday in a large, but they do offer XL in a few pieces.
These are only a few brands and designers…
What “straight size” brands do you tend to gravitate to?
I’m on an official mission to find out who designer Manon Baptiste is. Do you know?
I think he/she might be a French designer. I’m on Navabi.us and I’ve noticed a lot of this designer’s pieces are sold out. And I can’t for the life of me, find any more information about this designer on the internet. It’s driving me crazy. LOL. Sorry, I’m anal like that.
These are my two favorite pieces and for designer fashion, the prices aren’t too bad. I am loving how these just hug the natural curves of the body. Don’t you just love that?
The first dress also comes in white and would have been perfect for the Full Figured Fashion Week “White on White” Sunset Cruise! Why are all the good dresses gone?
OK, back to the craziness. I’ve already emailed Navabi for more info on this designer, but if any of you out there know, please share with me. Pretty please?
For those of you who don’t know, Navabi sells “designer fashions in plus sizes.” You can find Anna Scholz, Elena Miro, Roberto Cavalli, and more.
Yes, that’s right…designer fashions in plus sizes! You can thank me later.
It’s no secret that Los Angeles is one of the trendiest places on the planet. You can’t walk down the street without fashion on the brain! That’s why I’m looking forward to Style Fashion Week LA!
From March 15th-18th, this “new kid on the fashion block” will bring us four days of fashion. It will be hosted at the amazingly beautiful Vibiana Cathedral in Downtown Los Angeles. That’s 35,000 square feet of luxurious space. If you’ve never been there, believe me…it’s a stunning location.
“The newest and most ambitious fashion week to hit L.A. will exhibit this season’s emerging, progressive, and established men’s and women’s collections to the media, celebrities, tastemakers, and national and international buyers.”
I’m loving it already! Yes, I’m an L.A. Fashion week newbie. And I know there will not be any plus designers featured, but I am still looking forward to what the fashion the designers will send down the runway. It definitely serves as my inspiration.
Their previous fashion events have featured designers such as: Chanel, Badgley Mischka, French Connection, and Marc Ecko to name a few.
One of the highlights will be The Go Red For Women Celebrity Fashion show. This is the first time it will be held in Los Angeles and all proceeds will go to the American Heart Association. I can’t wait!
You’ve heard me describe myself time and time again as a bargainista. I do love a good bargain, but sometimes I do crave the finer designers in life.
If I was a rich girl, I would definitely be wearing designers that you would only find at high-end department stores like Sakes Fifth Avenue and their Salon Z.
Salon Z carries pieces in sizes 14-24 by designers such as Michael Kors, Eileen Fisher, Amanda Uprichard, David Meister, Elie Tahari, Design History, Juicy Couture, and more.
I have been in love with Amanda Uprichard’s pieces since the first day I saw them. The cut of the designs look like they really accentuate a woman’s curves.
Below are some item’s I’d love in my shopping cart. Most of them are dresses and tunics, but there is an Eileen Fisher coat that I’d love to have! If only I was a rich girl…
Do you shop at Saks? What are some of your favorite high-end designers?
