Unless you were born with full lashes and brows, you might not really care about this week’s Beauty Buzz. But, chances are you’re one of the many women with sparse eyelashes and eyebrows. For years I thought I had thick eyebrows, but now as I’m getting older (and wiser), I notice how thin they’re getting. Read more
I don’t know if you ever remember me telling you how inexperienced I was when it came to makeup. I honestly learn how to do something with each and every product I get my hands on. In fact, I look up a lot of YouTube tutorials for help. I’m not ashamed to admit it. Today, after months of trying different products, I’ve finally found my basics. Read more
You may have noticed a little event called the Olympics going on right now. And we know how special this worldwide sporting event is and what it means to not only us (I’m obsessed), the patriotic viewers, but what it means to the athletes. CoverGirl totally gets it and more. So here’s a big surprise…I’m super lazy when it comes to painting my nails. I don’t know why, but it just seems like the whole drying process takes forever with me. And I always dent them or mess them up. I’m kind of a klutz by-the-way. I had a few minutes to spare this weekend when I was in Las Vegas, so I decided to paint them. I used L’Oreal’s Coulour Riche nail lacquer in Club Prive ($5.99). My brother said it reminds him of pistachio ice cream…mmmmm…ice cream. It reminds me of blue cotton candy. Read more
When it comes to beauty products I’m not afraid to admit I’m no guru. In fact, I feel like a beginner and that’s OK! Who’s with me? You won’t find any tutorials here! LOL! But, I do love to introduce you to products that will not only make you happy, but are easy to use and actually work! Just like these five L’Oreal Paris favorites that have been getting a lot of use lately!
Remember when Suave was just a generic version of a shampoo? You’d only use it when you were low on cash. Come on! You know what I’m talking about. I can honestly tell you (which I think have a few times already) that this is not the same Suave.
Suave Professionals is getting better and better. In January I tried their Keratin Infusion 30 Day Smoothing Kit and I really loved it! You can view my video here. And for two weeks I’ve been using Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smoothing Lower Sulfate Shampoo & Conditioner System, Heat Defense Leave-In Conditioner, and Smooth & Shine Serum.
I’m really impressed by how soft and smoothed out my hair is and especially for the price. At Walgreens each item I used above retails for $3.49. But, remember my hair isn’t damaged or dyed, the results may be different depending on your hair type.
Have you ever used Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion products? Do you like them?

Anything with “Paradise” in the name is all I need to hear. And ARTISTRY’s ‘Escape to Paradise’ collection reminds me of my kind of escape…a tropical island. The soft and radiant colors are nothing but beautiful.
The collection consists of a Cheek and Eye Quad in Golden Glow and Fresh Radiance, Lip Gloss Duo in Tropical Coral and Pacific Orchid, and Eye Pencil in Island Violet and Lagoon. These are definitely luxury-quality cosmetics.
I really like their “Get the Look” tutorials on their web site. You can choose from four looks-Seascape, Beachfront, Beachfront-Sunset, and Seascape-Sea glass. They give you step-by-step instructions on how to achieve these looks. My favorite is Seascape.
EYES
1. Using an eye shadow brush, highlight the inner corner of the eye and the brow bone with Antique, a soft beige.
2. Sweep Shell, a soft purple, across eyelid from lash line to crease.
3. Mix Shell and Drift, a golden brown, and blend into crease to create natural definition.
4. Apply Lagoon eye pencil along the upper and lower lash lines, connecting at the corners. Use the built-in smudger tool to soften and blend the line.
5. Soften by applying Seafoam, a pale turquoise, over eyeliner.
6. Complete eyes with mascara on top lashes.
CHEEKS
7. Using a blush brush, sweep over entire Fresh Radiance cheek colour quad. Follow the cheek bone from the top toward the corner of the mouth to create a sculpted effect. If desired, blend outward to soften.
8. For a subtle highlight, apply the lightest cheek colour at the temples and along the top of the cheekbone.
LIPS
9. Apply Raspberry Shimmer lip gloss. Blend Sparkling Lavender on top to create a shimmering effect.
Yes…Suave is once again stepping their game up. This time it’s Suave’s Scalp Solutions. I am not afraid to admit that I sometimes deal with dandruff and an itchy scalp. Who doesn’t? It ‘s a lot more common than you might think. It can be caused by a long list of things, but every day occurrences like stress and hormones can also cause it.
When I do have a flare up, I reach for everyone’s favorite and reliable dandruff shampoo brand, but I can’t stand the smell it leaves behind. Ugh…you know what I’m talking about.
Thank goodness I’ve discovered Suave’s Scalp Solutions in Nourishing Coconut and Shea Butter. This anti-dandruff shampoo is…a scalp saver? I think it really is. Just by smelling it, you would never know it was created to fight flakes. And it’s gentle enough to use every day.
The scent reminds me of being at the beach with a drink in my hand…LOL! It has to be the coconut! Anyways, I’ve been using it for a week and it has been great. My hair is still soft and shiny, and it smells really good!
I think Neutrogena has every type of product for almost every type of skin. I should know, I’ve tried a lot of it. Yes, a lot of it.
I wish I would of known about their Neutrogena Naturals line when I was going through my “green” phase. It’s free of harsh chemical sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates. They use ingredients that are naturally derived.
The Neutrogena Naturals collection consists of cleansers, scrubs, make-up removers, lip balm, body bar, moisturizer, and night cream. I’ve been using a few of these products and have found them to be pretty effective. And you know how I am about fragrances, these have such a clean almost yummy scent. Does that make sense? LOL!
If you’ve been looking for a natural line, I’d definitely recommend trying one of their products to see if you like it or not. And to get you started a few of their products are on sale right now via their web site. Go here.
Where are my Clinique fans at? I know you’re a loyal bunch. And if you’re one of them, then you probably already know about this amazing facial moisturizer.
Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator ($36) is a tall drink of water for your skin. Seriously. It literally feels hydrating when you’re applying it. I will tell you I have combination skin. That means it’s oily in some areas and dry in others. This is ideally for Very Dry to Dry and Dry Combination skin types. If you have oily skin, then this is not for you.
“Rich, oil-free cream-gel instantly rehydrates. Skin stays comfortably plumped, even 24 hours after you put it on. Daily use helps fortify and repair skin’s moisture barrier to keep moisture in, environmental irritants out. Better barrier, happier skin.” -Clinique.com
I applied this moisturizer on my face after getting out of the shower, because that’s when my face feels the driest. You only need a small amount for the entire face. It’s very light and leaves the skin feeling dewy. I will admit, because of my skin type and the oily areas of my face, I can’t wear this under my foundation during warmer weather. My forehead will get oilier than usual. This just goes to prove it’s for skins on the drier side and my skin during the winter. I love using it when I know I’m staying in for the day and not applying makeup.
