All Bangled Up!

Welcome to my new obsession, wooden bangle bracelet sets. Yes, it has to be a set. My friend Ivory has really inspired me to start wearing large bangle bracelets. She always rocks them! Today, I went shopping with my mom and she bought me an early birthday gift, which included a set from Avenue. She did buy me other stuff, but you’ll have to wait and see those. If you haven’t noticed, I have to buy my bracelets at plus size stores. I have my dad to thank for my large man hands. LOL. I love the tribal feel you … Continue reading

Prints Charming

I’m in the mood for shoes! Inspired by this amazing, yummy, and delish shoe, the Starlet Stiletto from Alloy ($39.90), I had to go in search of the printed shoe. And I’m not just talking about floral prints. I’ve also included stripes and the ikat/tripal prints. I can just imagine wearing a white sundress with a bold printed shoe. Dreamy…oops, back to the shoes. Prints are seen in all shapes and forms this spring. Whether it’s on the upper part of the shoe, only in the straps, or even in the heel; prints have definitely grabbed my attention. It’s not like … Continue reading

A Cropped State of Mind

After posting the poll asking whether curvy girls should be able to wear the infamous crop top, I was on the hunt to find a few cropped tees. I love this “I Love Me Tee” (right) from Wet Seal and at $19.80 it’s a bargain. All of the tops below are from Alloy and are available up to a XXXL. Personally, I would wear a crop top, but only with a tank top underneath. How would you style a cropped tee?

Can curvy girls wear crop tops?

Of all the current fashion trends, this is one I do not look forward to. I don’t care if it’s on straight or a plus size girl, I’m not a fan. The dreaded crop top is making a come back. I don’t know why, but I guess belly baring is not just for teens anymore. This Abby Cropped V-Neck from Alloy is currently sold out. What does that tell us? I’ve have seen some fashionistas wearing crop tops with short shorts on a few of the “street style” blogs, of course they are all skinny minnies. I haven’t seen any curvy … Continue reading

Black, White & Leopard All Over

I’m all about being inspired today. In fact, the immediate second I saw these delicious Leo Platform heels from Alloy ($46.99), I knew I had to write this post. Leopard is always in style, but I say we venture out of our fashion comfort boxes and go a different route with black and white leopard print. Now, if you’re already in possession of black and white leopard print, yay! for you. But, I’m not and I think these would jump start my collection. Ok, I don’t know about a collection, but grabbing a few pieces here and there can really add … Continue reading

Spring Trends: Floral Prints

Floral prints for spring are a no brainer. I love a flowy skirt, billowy blouse, or flirty dress with this print. I know most of the country is STILL covered in snow, but let’s just close our eyes for a second. Imagine yourself taking a walk in the park wearing one of the skirts below with a tank top and sandals. Now that I’ve got you dreaming of spring, would you wear any of these floral prints? Misproportioned Fashion

Inspired by the Sejour Zip Jacket (worn here) and it’s asymmetrical zipper, I went on a hunt for a few similar pieces. The Alloy sweater (the first one) is my favorite! According to Dictionary.com, asymmetrical is defined as not symmetrical; lacking symmetry; misproportioned. I think that’s what I love most about these pieces below. It makes them kind of a rebel in the sweater world. Kinda like us curvy girls. Always working against what is considered the “norm.” Don’t you just love fashion? LOL

It’s time to get romantic…with Alloy.

Alloy is really setting the mood with these romantic pieces! The Isabelle Beaded Blouse (the first one) is my favorite! It’s so beautiful and billowy and yummy. I can’t resist that trio. And if you’re wondering, these pieces are all carried up to a XXXL. Yay! That makes this curvy gal very very happy!

Splish Splash!

It’s finally raining in L.A.! Yay! I think I’m one of the few that actually love this kind of weather here in Southern California. I have this urge to go and jump in some puddles! But, I probably won’t without a proper pair of rain boots. Just take a look at some of the chic rain gear I found. Now, if you only I could find a decent plus size rain coat. Any tips?

Fall Trends 2010: Military

If there is ever a trend I can relate to the most, it’s definitely military fashion. Yes, my curvy friends, I did serve in the U.S. military. To this day, you will not find me wearing anything camouflage or combat boots. I wore them for five years and that’s enough for me. But, everything else in this trend is OK. If anything I love the symmetry of the buttons. Chic without overpowering your outfit. Can someone please buy me the ASOS Curve Military Knitted Cape? Please? Will the military trend make it to your closet this fall? Torrid Cobalt Military … Continue reading
