Style & Designer: Tory Burch Part II

Tory Burch has always caught my eye, especially with that logo! I’m sorry, I’m not normally about logos, but I can’t help but look when I see someone wearing one of her pieces. Especially if it’s an accessory.

I have featured Tory in one of my first Style & Designer pieces here.

I was doing some research last night for the next issue of Plus Model Magazine and I couldn’t help but fall in love every time I saw one of her handbags. So, today I went looking for a few pieces and found these.

She’s keeps everything so classic and clean. Something I really appreciate when it comes to accessories. I would take everything here, because I can’t choose just one.

Although, the boots are kind of calling my name.

What would you rather wear, the flats or the boots?

Handbags go Tribal

You can call it a tribal, aztec, or even southwestern print. It actually reminds me of a sarape. That’s a brightly colored mexican blanket or shawl, by the way.

I remember having a blanket like this as a teenager, but that was in my anti-bright color days. So, it was  taupe, black, and white. Whenever I look at these, I feel like go to Tijuana and buying a few of those blankets. LOL.

Ove the past two days of shopping, I’ve seen the print every where. Especially, in the handbag world. I even bought myself one today at Old Navy. I also saw a lot of ponchos in this sprint. It’s really boho chic or is it surfer girl?

Whatever it is, I like it! Do you?

Let’s be friends.

Who wants to be my friend? Anyone?

Fine! Then you’re not got getting a friendship bracelet from me.  I’m sorry but that’s the new rule around here. LOL.

OK…that’s really not the rule, but you should grab one for you and your BFF. I bought this Lauinger bracelet from Aldo yesterday. I kind of feel like I’m 12 again.

I only plan on wearing them with a casual outfit. Wait…did I just by myself my own friendship bracelet? Well, I am my own best friend.

If you don’t want a style like this one, take a peek below. The Juicy Couture bracelet is pretty cute.

You can even dress them up! Look at this great DIY my friend Kelsi from Dedicated Follower of Fashion created.

What do you think?

Are friendship bracelets for you?

What’s missing?

I’m always so curious as to finding out exactly what fashionistas like when it comes to accessorizing. I’m a true believer that just one accessory can liven up any outfit. Especially if it’a nude or tan dress, like the T-Bags mini-dress below, and the accessory is a much needed pop of color. But, that’s just me. I want to know what you think…(read below)

I’ve chosen 6 random accessories below.
If you could ONLY choose ONE, which item would you pair with the dress and why?
I’m curious.

In a Cobalt Blue kind of Mood

Ever since I wore that blue dress to the Full Figured Fashion Week runway finale, I can’t get the color out of my head.

Now, it’s not just any kind of blue, it’s more like cobalt blue. It can easily transition into the fall season and looks good on pretty much anyone. Don’t we love that?

You know I’ve said it before, but adding an accessory in a bright color like this really stands out. And it’s easier to experiment with these bold colors, when it’s just a shoe or piece of jewelry.

Just look at this Enigma Slide Sandal from Endless.com and BCBGMaxAzria Abstract Stone Bracelet from Lord & Taylor. I can see these accessories getting a lot of use out of them.

Once again…you know I can’t leave my UK ladies out! I found this Ravel Generous Wedge Sandal and Elasticated Cuff Bracelet (on sale!) over on the plus size ladies fashion web site Marisota.

I can just see me know wearing them with a white summer dress.

Now, that I’m looking at these colors, I can’t help but be reminded of the beach or a cold glass of water. LOL! I’m such a day dreamer!!

Are a fan of cobalt blue?

DefShop is Hip Hop & Streetwear

You’re curvy, you adore Hip Hop, maybe you skate, and you love Streetwear fashion. I knew you were out there.

After spending time in New York City, I can definitely appreciate all types of fashion. Especially style that comes from the streets. I am so jealous of those who can actually pull it off. And now that streetwear had definitely gone retro, I’m getting flash backs just writing this.

I was checking out Def Shop, a Hip Hop and Streetwear online boutique from Europe, and I instantly fell for the retro inspired shoes. Especially, those nice sneakers, like the Nike’s. This is all sooooo 1980’s, from the Adidas bags, brightly colored watches, headphones, and wayfarer sunglasses. I hope I’m not showing my age here.

Don’t worry ladies. If the Hip Hop look isn’t for you, you can also get your bohemian chic look with brands like Flamenco Chic, Italy Style, and Coolway. They do have plus sizes too! And I need that blue scarf in my life.

Remember, the best thing about buying from a European store is the opportunity of buying brands that you can’t normally find in the U.S. Yay! for online shopping and international shipping.

Are you a Hip Hop or Streetwear fashionista?

Casually…Red, White, and Blue

Yes, you’re going to see a lot of red, white, and blue inspired looks as we get closer to this 4th of July weekend. I wanted to go a little bit of a different route to offer you some color inspiration. A lot of these pieces can be paired together or just worn alone. I chose a lot of casual pieces, because one…it’s summer…and two…it’s the weekend. And it’s going to be hot!

I’m looking at this and I can’t help but think how much I love all of these colors right now. Are you going to honor our country’s independence this weekend with a little red, white, and blue?

What color inspiration are you loving? The red, white, or blue

Are you a Hat Lover? Introducing Arturo Rios

The minute this couture hat, modeled by Maxey for Curvysta, hit my page it was on! Everyone kept asking me where it was from. You should have seen the attention it was getting at the rooftop media reception event for Full Figured Fashion Week. It’s not only stunning in the photo, but amazingly beautiful in person!

Designed by the very talented Arturo Rios from Los Angeles, this design is only the tip of the iceberg! Just take a look at some of my favorite pieces below. Stunning!!

Would you rock one of these couture hats?

TRI this ANGLE with Jewelery

I’m always on the look out for different pieces of jewelery. Especially, different shapes. And I’ve kind of been leaning towards triangles. It’s something a little different and always interesting. There’s nothing like adding a little bit of shape to your necklace, ring, bracelet, or your earrings. I love that black Marc Jacobs bangle. It’s on sale too! It probably won’t fit me because I have man hands! LOL

Do you own any triangle shaped jewelery?

Rachel Roy the Jewelery Designer

I will tell you right now, that I loooooove Rachel Roy. Who doesn’t? She’s not only an amazingly beautiful woman, but she is a talented designer that really get’s it. Her designs are effortlessly chic. Plain and simple.

I really wish she made plus sizes, but I can tell you that her XL from the Rachel Rachel Roy line that is sold at Macy’s could possibly fit up to a U.S. size 16/18. I bought the 24/7 dress, because I LOVED it, but it was a little too short for me. It hurt me to return it. If you’re in that size range, I would definitely encourage you to try a few of her pieces.

Now, the real reason for this post. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Rachel Roy also designs jewelery. I know! Just look at her pieces below. I have my eye on the elephant ring and the spike pendant necklace. Divine!

Did you know she designed jewelry? Are you loving her designs?

Attack of the Retro Sunglasses

If you must know…I love wearing sunglasses. Always have and always will. I don’t know where it started. But, I do know they not only offer style benefits, they also offer protection for your eyes. You will hear me say that over and over and over. And with all of the current trends from the 80’s and 90’s, you had to know that the sunglasses were going to get in on it. I saw a few of these retro styles at Torrid the other day and couldn’t help but try them on. Unfortunately, they didn’t really fit the shape of my face. That sucks! All I can do is look at you enjoy these retro style sunglasses. No fair.

Will you be rocking retro sunglasses this summer?
