As I sat down to write this post, I started thinking about skin types and how each of us is so different from the next. You might have oily skin and the person sitting next to you might have dry skin. I’m the one with combination skin. Then I started thinking about skin care routines and how that varies too. Even though we might differ in these areas, I’m pretty sure we all have the same concerns when it comes to aging skin. OK, I’m not losing sleep over here about it, but I do like to care for the…
There was a time when all I could do was just sit, cry, and pray that the pimples on my face would go away. It was pimple on top of pimple. I was in my early 20’s, not a teenager! I had no idea why I was going though it. It really was a painful time. I’ve realized, in my old age, that our skin has a mind of it’s own. And even today I have skincare concerns that need addressing.
Let’s talk skincare people. I don’t know about you. But, it is something I think about as I near the end of my 30’s. It’s hard to not be consumed by the fine lines and wrinkles that start to develop as we age. I’m only being honest here. But, like everything else in life—I accept it as a part of who I am and who I’m becoming. And as your personal guinea pig, I like to carefully try out skincare products that might be of benefit for you.

Of course in this case we used edible ingredients.
Oh summer, you are so awesome—when you’re not blazingly blinding me. Actually, I’m kind of happy with the mild weather you’ve given us Angelenos this season. Still, I find myself dealing with a few summer beauty issues. Am I alone here? I doubt it. Thank goodness for these three essential summer beauty fixes I found for my peskiest problems.
Finding the best skincare isn’t always the easiest thing. That’s why I love introducing you to different beauty products. Hopefully, you’ll find one that’s a perfect fit for you and your skin. Maybe this summer it will be Block Island Organics. They recently reached out and sent me their Organic Purifying Facial Cleanser, Organic Revitalizing Night Cream, and Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 to try out. And even gave me a discount code to share with you (no I won’t make a penny from it).

When it comes to our skincare, there are so many things to take into consideration. But, do you ever think about your skin’s wellness? It’s not only about what you’re putting on your face and into your body, but it’s also how you’re emotionally treating your skin. I was recently invited to the #NoMakeupWakeup event with Simple Skincare and I had a chance to meet one of their experts Dr. Josie Howard. We discussed the relationship between stress, emotional wellbeing, and skin health (psychodermatology). We were asked to take her Skin Wellbeing Survey and I just knew I had to share it with all of you!
