Styling denim on denim can be a little tricky for some people. It shouldn’t be. For some reason, it’s not always a look that a lot of people go for. I don’t know why it’s not worn more often. I look at it like the “LBD”— sort of a blank canvas. There are lots of ways to add your own personal touch to make the look your own. I put together a list over on Mode.com with 20 tips on how to effortlessly style this trend. And before you get all up in arms about it, I know a lot…
As any denim lover knows, we take the style of our jeans very seriously. Most of the time, we stick with that one style that not only looks good, but fits great. Over the past few years, I’ve stuck with the same skinny jean silhouette in a dark wash. That’s just what I’m drawn to. So, when Target challenged me to a different kind of denim hack, like trying a few AVA + VIV denim styles I wouldn’t normally buy—I was a little uneasy.
I’m not going to lie. When I think of denim skirts, I instantly time travel back to when I was a kid. I’d rock that denim skirt with my jelly shoes! Yes, I’m proudly showing my age! Well, it looks like they haven’t gone anywhere. I went searching online for some of my favorite plus size denim skirts at every length!
For about a millisecond, I considered creating a blog where all I do is write about my love for denim jeans. I wear them all of the time and then some. They’re just my favorite of all-time favorites. A little obsessed. In fact, I decided to share 10 plus size denim jeans that have caught my eye at the moment.
Would you believe me if I told you that I’ve been dreaming of a pair of high-waisted denim? Well…I have. I know it’s kind of weird, but I practically live in denim. Day in and out. But, I’ve always struggled with the low rise factor. It’s so annoying. Then one day City Chic sent me a pair.
I’m finally back home from my trip to Austin, Texas! I was there attending and speaking at the Texas Style Council Conference. I got in really late on Monday night…actually early Tuesday morning and was exhausted from a day of flying. I woke up and remembered I had a blog event to attend to. In a rush I got ready and this is the look I came up with.
I’m sitting here sick in bed with my laptop and a box of tissues. Sneezing every few minutes, but online window shopping at the same time. It’s a talent. I swear. I keep running across these great denim pieces that I want. In all my stuffiness, I’ve realized that I want a lot of things. Hence…my denim wish list.
Raise your hand if you’re a Lucky Brand fan! Me! Me! Back in my non-plus size days, I adored this retailer! Today, I can’t really wear it. Well…that is until NOW! As of today, ‘Ginger’, the company’s first venture into plus size denim will be available at major retailers nationwide!
There’s one great thing about a basic denim top, you can wear it a lot of different ways. Seriously, Google “how to wear a denim shirt.” You’ll find tons of examples. And I hope to be able to show you a few myself. For this post, I decided on a really casual and relaxed look. One that can be dressed up a little with shoes and accessories. I’m wearing Lands End’s long sleeve denim shirt ($45). With a black camisole and black skinny jeans. Very basic. The shirt is not tapered as much as I would like it to be,…
I can always count on my good friend Ivory for inspiration. If you haven’t had a chance to check out her blog (www.IvoryJinelle.blogspot.com) you’re missing out. She’s fashionably fearless. Love her…if you read my blog then you know I mention her a lot. Yesterday, I saw her wearing a denim jacket and it reminded me of the one I had sitting in my closet. I picked this one up at Forever 21 months ago and haven’t had a chance to wear it. And since it was a gloomy day here in L.A. I wanted to wear something comfy and casual. I’m…
