A New York Minute

Born with wanderlust in my blood, traveling gives me a freedom to be who I truly am. No it’s not perfect. In a world of delays and constraints, I don’t always get to do what I want. But sometimes, I get lucky and get invited to some pretty cool experiences. Sometimes they land me in New York City—one of my favorite urban hangouts. Even if it’s only for a few days…AKA a New York minute.

My latest NYC excursion was courtesy of Kia. They sent me out to the New York Auto Show to take a peek at the all-new Kia Rio. Cutest little Rio I ever did see. Starting at only $14,165 it’s one to definitely check out. Between this red little hot sedan and my favorite Kia HamSTARS, I took in all the city could offer me. Good times, yummy food, iconic scenery, and amazing company. Couldn’t ask for more.

If you only have a few days in NYC how would you spend them?

Here are my quick NYC trip tips:

  • Choose wisely: Make sure you do your research on the best places to eat, sleep, and play beforehand. That will save you the time you don’t have in the city that never sleeps.
  • Be a Tourist: Because I’m super nostalgic, I always visit a landmark that has NYC written all over it. Whether I visit the stunning St. Patrick’s Cathedral or take a walk through Central Park, I always make time for at least one. It helps me to feel more connected to the city.
  • Pack Like a Pro: There are some people that can pack like their lives depended on it. Learn that skill and bring only the necessities in a carry-on. It makes for easier maneuvering on the city streets. Besides, if you forget something there’s a Duane Reade on almost every corner.
  • Live Your Life: Don’t let others dictate your NYC experience. You don’t have much time here, do what you want and what will make you happy. Pick a travel buddy with similar likes if that helps!
