Travel Arizona Road Tripping with Toyota

I’ve been traveling to Arizona since I can remember. My family’s roots lie deep in Tucson. As a kid my mom would send my brother and I out to spend our summer’s and school vacations with my Grandma Lucy. I can still smell her homemade flour tortillas. To say I have a connection with the desert is an understatement. That’s why my heart skipped a beat when Toyota invited me out to road trip it to Phoenix for some spring training baseball. It’s like they just knew that this experience was made just for me.

Nevermind the fact that I am a very big…huge…Los Angeles Dodgers fan. And they just happen to train at Camelback Ranch. Our #ToyotaGrandSlam experience started with a four-hour road trip from L.A. in the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. The drive was scenic and beautiful…efficient too!

Our stay officially started after checking-in to the Talking Stick Resort and an amazing Orange Sky dinner at sunset. If you’ve never witnessed a sunset in the desert, you don’t know life. The company at dinner wasn’t too shabby either. Any time I get to spend with my amiga Kathy of CraftyChica.com is always welcome. Great friends and vegan dishes make for a perfect night before baseball.

With a backpack filled with snacks, the hubby and I made our way to Camelback Ranch and it was so much fun! I love the vibe of spring training games. And there are always tons of Dodgers fans on hand to cheer on our boys. It was truly a baseball lovers experience that I’ll never forget. It really prepped me for the upcoming season.

I love group trips like the one Toyota planned for us. We even had a chance to check out Top Golf, which the hubby was really looking forward to. I mean, a quick lesson with a golf pro? OK! Let’s not talk about my golf swing. We did so much in the few days we were in Arizona. Just take a look at all of the photos I took below.

As we headed back home in the RAV4, I couldn’t help but feel like my connection with the desert got even stronger. I have been on these roads many times before, but this time it was different. The Saguaro cactus stood tall and waved at me as we drove by. I think it knows I’ll be back soon.
