Beauty Buzz | Angel Shave Club Review

I’ll never forget being a teen and begging my mom to let me shave my legs. Little did I know all that came along with it. Like the constant and expensive upkeep for someone hairy like me. If you buy razors on the regular, you know how pricey they are. I’ve seen razor blade refills for as much as $20 for a refill box of four. That’s kind of ridiculous. I don’t know about you, but sometimes my budget doesn’t allow me to buy those. I end up getting stuck with the cheap “one use only” razors. This is where Angel Shave Club steps in to possibly save my day.

First and foremost, I know that hair removal is a personal decision for any woman out there. It’s not mandatory and it’s definitely up to you. If you are a shaving kind of gal, then I think you might appreciate this post.

The Angel Shave Club is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a monthly service providing quality razors at affordable prices. They offered to send me a box to review and I immediately said yes. My hubby joined a similar shave club for men a few years ago. I tried those razors, but they just didn’t work for me. So, I was very curious to check them out and see what makes them different.

“The quality of our blades comes from a combination of high quality U.S. steel, Aloe Vera and vitamin E moisturizing strips, and a flexible head for the smoothest shave of your life. Our fully customizable monthly plans allow you to choose the number of blades, the color of your handle and how often do you want them delivered.”

There are two shave plans to choose from: The Little Lady (3 blade razor) for $6-a-month or The Angel (5 blade razor) for $9-a-month. Each plan comes with 8 razor blade refills and the option of a blue or pink handle. You can also select how often you want them shipped to you. Shipping is free and with every purchase of a subscription on, a portion of the sales goes to The Malala Fund.

I was sent The Angel (5 blade razor) to try out and instantly felt like I belonged to one of those exclusive subscription box clubs. FYI…I don’t belong to any of them, so there’s that. I was given a Sugar & Fig shaving soufflé (coming soon) to try out. After opening my pink box, I immediately ran to the bathroom to get my shave on.

I was impressed with the quality of the ergonomically designed shaving handle. It has some weight to it, without it being too heavy. And it did feel like it hugged the curves on my legs. I didn’t get any nicks or cuts, that I noticed. Now when it comes to the soufflé, I thought it would have this super creamy texture. It didn’t, but I was OK with that. It has a firmer consistency. It still did it’s job when I applied it to my legs and it smells really good.

I’m happy to report that my legs and underarms are soft, smooth, and without irritation. I do have a warning for those with super sensitive skin. I’m not sure how it will react to this. Just had to throw that out there. If you have any concerns I’d contact the company. Now, I shave a few times a week, so I see these 8 razors lasting me a while. In my opinion. that’s definitely worth the $9.

What do you think? Would you join a shave club?
