Turning Swimsuit Anxiety into Swimsuit Happiness

This post is sponsored by Target.

Oh…swimsuit anxiety. You’re an evil one. Even the most confident women (ahem) get that uneasy feeling when they think of summer and the fact that swimsuit season is practically here. There’s just something that goes off in your head when you know you’re about to parade around others half naked in the bright summer sun. OK, that’s just how it goes in my head.

Even shopping for a swimsuit can be a big issue. I recently headed to Target to try on some AVA & VIV swimsuits and no matter how hard I tried, that little voice in my head kept trying to discourage me. “Don’t try on a two piece. No one wants to see all that cellulite. Hello big belly and flabby arms!”

Of course I didn’t listen. I tried on the two-piece, but realized that my chest might be a little too advanced for those bikini tops. Let’s just say the underboob was winning and I wasn’t comfortable. So, I tried on other styles. I’ve always been a fan of the one piece and the tankini. And I love anything with a halter strap. Something with support is a must-have for my chest.

And as you know, I’ve never really shared any fitting room photos before on my blog or on social media. Especially, of me trying on swimsuits. I guess there’s a first time for everything. Here I am in all of my glory. Trying on my three favorite swimsuits from the AVA & VIV swimwear line.

I finally decided on this bohemian inspired one piece and I couldn’t be happier. It’s sooooo comfortable and I love the colors and the design. In fact, I wore it on the beaches of Miami proudly. I just feel like it fits me and my style perfectly, bringing me nothing but swimsuit happiness.

There’s just something about finding the right swimsuit, no matter the price. Right? We all know that swimsuits are an investment. So, why not try and wear them in other places besides the pool and on the beach? Might as well get maximum use out of them. Why not style your swimsuit into your existing wardrobe? Hey it’s summer. Anything goes!

Below, I styled my AVA & VIV swimsuit in three different ways. You can do wonders with your favorite accessories and a few basic wardrobe essentials. Take a look!

Casually Cool

I’m in love with these denim AVA & VIV Bermuda shorts. I just had to pair them with this beautiful swimsuit. Then I added a light layer with this AVA & VIV light grey heather cardigan. Perfect for just casually hanging out.

Brunch with my Girls

You may recognize this black AVA & VIV maxi skirt. I wore it in my previous post and I love how versatile it is. As you can see, I paired it with the swimsuit and added a bright Pareo Sarong Scarf, silver bangle bracelets and jewelry.

Dinner & Drinks

Step up a night out by styling your favorite swimsuit for dinner and drinks with that special someone. It’s not any different than a bodysuit would be. I decided to throw on this pair of dark blue AVA & VIV skinny jeans, a black blazer, and this fun colorful beaded necklace. Normally, I’d wear a pair of killer heels, but flats are going to have to do since my ankle is still healing.
