An Afternoon with Maurices

When I first started this blog in 2008, I remember searching online for plus size brands to feature or shop from. That’s when I found Maurices, a fashion retailer specializing in women’s fashion in a range of sizes. Back then, they had a very small plus size collection. Today, they offer so many more options, including activewear and swimwear. They recently invited me to attend a spring event they were hosting in Downtown L.A., of course I had to go!

Not only did we have a super yummy lunch (hello avocado toast), but we enjoyed a braid bar courtesy of my fave, Nine Zero One Salon. We also got a peek into a few of their spring looks. My favorites were the flamingo button up top and a kimono (of course). The majority of their pieces have a definite bohemian vibe to them. Super wearable and they don’t cost an arm and a leg.

I even had a chance to check out their jewelry bar, where I picked up two pendant necklaces (I’m wearing one below). You know the obsession is real. Oh and I got a cool metallic temporary tattoo. I’m bad ass like that!

I was super bummed I couldn’t stay long, I had another event to attend. But, you know I made sure to take lots of pics before I left (see below). And I wanted to share with you! I’m also hoping to encourage Maurices to open a Southern California location. So far the closest to me is in Central California. Hint…hint.

Are you a Maurices fan? Where do you shop?

Disclosure: I received a complimentary gift bag for my attendance. Any and all opinions expressed in this post are true and my own.
