Big & Tall / Fall Essentials for Men

After rummaging through the hubby’s closet, I realized he needs a few things for fall. Of course, he hates shopping, so that gives me the opportunity to have a little fun. So, I went online and found some things I think he’ll like. And that’s how I came up with these fall essentials for men. Now, these are items that are great for pairing with other existing pieces in their wardrobe and perfect for layering.

Boots: A nice comfortable boot will come in really handy in the fall. I love boots that have an already worn in look. I’m eyeing the Total Motion Street Plain Toe Boot in Bagpipe from Rockport. This boot with a pair of denim and his favorite sweater, is fall-friendly.

Wool Coat: Fall brings some windy and chilly days. A nice wool coat will keep him warm and stylish (if that’s his thing). The Michael Kors Big and Tall Wool-Blend Multi-Pocket Field Coat comes in five different colors and is on sale…just saying.

Dress Shirt: No need to really explain this one. Every guy should have at least one dress shirt for special occasions. I chose this Ralph Lauren Classic-Fit Chambray Shirt in Olive, because it’s a twist on the classic style. I’d have the hubby pair this under a blazer.

Sweater: There’s something about a nice sweater, that gets my hubby’s attention. Maybe, it’s because all he has to do is just slip right into it. It’s comfy and there’s no ironing needed. I really like this rugged looking Cabot Half Zip from Cutter & Buck.

Dark Denim: As the fall season settles in, with winter right around the corner, I love the sight of dark denim. And my hubby is a big fan of his Levi’s. He has the 559™ Relaxed Straight Jeans in Tumbled Rigid and they’re a personal favorite.

Scarf: Men can wear accessories too! And because it’s super simple to wear and will keep them warm—I consider a scarf a necessity. This inexpensive ASOS Vertical Stripe Scarf can go with a ton of their fall looks (including that wool coat).

Flannel: I like to look at the flannel shirt like a t-shirt alternative. It’s comfy, cozy, and on trend. Plaid never disappoints in the fall. Throw on The Foundry Supply Co.™ Long-Sleeve Flannel Shirt from JCPenney with their favorite denim and boots—instant outfit.
