Life Changer (OOTD)
Have you ever had one of those days you were unsure of? One where you didn’t know how it was going to end. You hope for a just a good day, but by the time you lay down to go to sleep you realize it was life altering. That was the kind of day I had yesterday. It all started with a Latina Brunch at the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Annual Conference. I was invited as a Toyota Latino Ambassador. The brunch, which included Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, was beyond inspiring, motivating, and all of the above.
After the brunch, I attended an Adelante Movement event, run by the one-and-only Nely Galan. My beautiful friend Kathy of CraftyChica.com was on a panel, along with other successful social media Latinas. After an afternoon of inspiration, I was invited to Nely Galan’s home, where the photos below were taken. By the way, her home is stunning!
This is where the magic continued. I was surrounded by amazingly smart, brave, and successful people. People who have traveled on life’s bumpy roads and lived to tell their story, start businesses, and conquer their fears. And all they want to do is empower and give back to the community that they are so passionate about. I had a personal moment while I sat their listening to them speak. I was reminded that life is too short to not be living and working towards your dream.
I know you were expecting just an old outfit post, but I wanted to share this moment with you. One that will bring much change to my life. A life that you’re all a part of anyways. Thank you for joining me on this ride. And of course it helps that I was wearing an outfit yesterday that made me feel confident and comfortable.
I am so in love with this skirt. The vegan leather is so soft and there’s a liner underneath so you don’t get sweaty in the summer heat. I won’t lie. I wasn’t sure how to style it at first, but with the help of my good friend Stylist Reah Norman, I was able to put this together. Thank you boo boo! Yes, it’s a simple outfit, but the scarf added the pop of color and drama that I needed. It was a perfect outfit for my life changing day.
