Curves Care: Let’s Help Quinceañera Dreams Come True
I’m really excited to feature the first (of many) Curves Care posts today! I’ve been wanting to give back for a long time now and couldn’t think of a better way than through this blog. #CurvesCare is my way of helping out those in need. First up is my friend’s organization, The Orphaned Earring and her campaign to help make quinceañera dreams come true for seven orphan girls.
I’m such a huge fan of Denisse Montalvan and her baby—The Orphaned Earring! They are bring arts and crafts, school supplies as well as year-round festivities to four orphanages in Latin America, Nicaragua, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico. One-hundred percent of the proceeds benefit these centers. They do this by collecting orphaned earrings or unwanted jewelry and beading it into a bracelet while recycling materials. They sell the bracelet while raising funds for orphans in Latin America. Yes, I do own a few myself! Shop here.
A quinceañera is a traditional coming-of-age celebration on a girl’s 15th birthday. Sadly, I didn’t have one because we couldn’t afford it. They are expensive and Denisse know’s that. That’s why she started a fundraising campaign!
“I have 7 orphan girls turning 15 years old this August; 4 girls at the Mexico orphanage and 3 from Guatemala. Every girl deserves their dream Quinceañera but these girls don’t have parents to give them a party and the orphanages don’t have the resources to celebrate. We need your help!”
Here’s where I need your help
In honor of Curves Care and The Orphaned Earring, I will be hosting a yard sale in Corona, California on Saturday May 24. If you live in the area or will be around that day, I’d love for you to come by and shop my stuff. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Orphaned Earring’s #QuinceDreams fundraising campaign. I will be posting more details soon on the yard sale via my social media pages. I just wanted to give you all a head’s up here. Follow the #CurvesCare hash tag on all social media. I would love to see you there!!
