Curvy Girl Travels: Beauty Tips & Mary Kay Giveaway (closed)

Wow! It’s been a while since my last Curvy Girl Travels post. Sorry about that! There’s only one way I know how to make it up to you…that’s with a super cool giveaway courtesy of Mary Kay of course! I’m also going to pass on a few of my favorite travel beauty tips…which I’ve been using a lot lately. Hopefully, you can use them for your upcoming spring and summer travels.

If you follow me on my social media channels, then you may have seen that I was in Miami recently. Gahhhh…I love that city! I was a speaker at Hispanicize and Mary Kay helped me with my travel. I just thought a post like this would be a perfect fit, since they’re the reason I was able to get there. Oh…and I’m really loving a lot of their products.

While I was in Miami, I used some of Mary Kay’s latest beauty products, some that you’ll be able to enter to win below by the way. While I was there I realized that I have a few beauty routines that I follow when I’m traveling. Things that make packing and planning my trips easier. I’ll share some of my favorite travel beauty tips below.

Plan Ahead

If you have an itinerary of what your trip will consist of, then this will help you to plan what beauty products you’ll need on your trip. Planning your looks ahead of time will save you much needed space in your beauty bag. If you know you’ll be outside a lot, in business meetings all day, or even cocktail parties—plan on what products you’ll need.

Multi-Use Products

I love beauty products that can be used for more than one thing. For example, you can use your blush or bronzer as an eyeshadow and lipstick as a blush. One of my all-time favorites is using my hair conditioner as a faux shaving cream. It’s thick enough and can be moisturizing. This is another space saver when I’m packing.

Make it Last

A lot of the time my business travel consists of panels, luncheons, and more. This leaves me little time to redo my makeup for the evening events. So, when I apply my makeup in the morning I tend to use products that will help it last all day. That way I can just do a quick touch-up for the next event. Something like primer or a setting powder will give your look a little more lasting power that usual.

Size Down

If you travel with full-size beauty products, you’re definitely missing out on space that can be used for an extra pair of shoes! I always recommend travel-size products or containers. Also, the sample sizes that you get at your favorite beauty counter are great for travel. This also depends on the length of your trip.

Have Fun

OK, this isn’t really a “tip,” but more like an FYI. I love to plan my makeup shades according to the city I’m visiting and their season. For example, when I was in Miami, I made sure to bring along brighter and bolder colors. If I was visiting Las Vegas, I’d do the same thing. It’s OK to have fun with your makeup!

My tip is to always buy water for your room, so you stay hydrated and don’t go broke buying it from the mini-bar! Also, take lip balm in addition to lipstick, especially if you are at a conference where you’ll be talking a lot! AND make sure to wash your face of all your make up before you go to bed, no matter how exhausted you are!

    My favorite travel Beauty tip is using moisture rich products. I use a rich body lotion to keep my skin hydrated and I carry that thought through my other beauty products. A rich face moisturizer, Hydrating lip balm or gloss, etc.
