3 Ways to Style a Maxi Skirt

I have a thing for maxi skirts. I adore them. I really want to wear them every single day. And they’re perfect for the spring and summer weather. I love them in all colors, prints, and super long! So, when a fellow blogger friend Jayka of Wacky Little House asked me how I style them, I couldn’t wait to share. Here are MY three favorite ways to style a maxi skirt.

1. With a Tank

As you can see below, this is one of my favorite ways to style a maxi skirt. I’m all about balancing things out when I get dressed. I prefer a fitted and tucked-in tank when I’m wearing a flowing skirt. I feel like it adds shape to my high-waist. But, if the skirt happens to be straight and close to the body, I’ll wear a flowing tank. Something with more movement.

2. With a Cropped Jacket

Don’t forget about the cropped jacket please! It’s a great way to accessorize your look. You can either dress it up with a blazer or more casually with a denim jacket.  Below you’ll find two looks: one styled by ASOS Curve and the other from Forever 21. Either one works and can go from day to night. Once again, it’s about balance for me. This hits right at the waist giving me shape. If it’s too hot for a jacket, try a cropped vest.

3. With a Crop Top

Yes, we’re going to get a little daring here. And yes, you can wear a crop top! The look on the left is from Forever 21 and the one on the right is Zelie for She (Pre-Order now).  Feel free to bare the tummy a little or a lot—it’s your right! Please remember that not all crop tops are super short. Some have really cool cutouts and are longer in length. I have a printed maxi skirt that I’m looking to wear with a crop top. I think it’s a great way to break things up and let the print of the skirt stand out.
